  1. And in the end, we still need a LF leadoff hitter. How is this trade fixing that problem?
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) H. Christ. That said...Congrats to Texas, I think they just won the AL West. I hate this deal. Even if Danks comes out solid, I despise this deal. Agreed.
  3. Okay, I've cooled down. Sorry for my explosion, but I am livid.
  4. I hope McCarthy goes 25-2, with a 2.10 ERA, and 250 strikeouts and we lose to the Rangers everytime we play them and he kicks our f***ing ass. Seriously.
  5. Worst trade in the history of life. I don't even care that I know nothing about these guys we picked up. McCarthy was so f***ing untouchable during the year and now we trade him for a bunch of f***ing prospects?! WHAT THE f*** WERE YOU SMOKING!?
  6. I seriously need to punch something right now, hard. I am overwhelmed with anger. OH MY f***ING GOD I AM GOING TO KILL SOMETHING!
  7. f*** YOU KENNY WILLIAMS! f*** YOU TO HELL! MERRY f***ING CHRISTMAS SOX FANS!
  8. QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 02:13 AM) 4.5 eras? Those are improvements! Well, one must remember that Lilly pitched in the AL. So his bloated ERA "should" go down a bit in the NL, so a 4.5 for him would be terrible. Now Marquis, I don't remember, but he was hurt right? When he was healthy, he was decent. So a 4.5 out of him, healthy, would be bad.
  9. The best part will be when Soriano tears his ACL scaling the Ivy at Wrigley, and Marquis and Lilly post 4.5+ ERAs. Then, their massive spending will lead to another sub-.500 season and the fans will be right back where they were before.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) The Dodgers let Hall go as a favor because Hall wants a chance to at least play on a relatively consistent basis. The Dodgers couldn't offer that with Russell Martin getting the bulk of there starts and obviously the So can't offer that with AJ here. Hall is a pretty damn fine defensive catcher who isn't too great with the bat but is obviously lightyears better than Sandy or Widger with it and is actually a pretty good hitter against LHP (which makes him a great fit). However, he wants to play and I can't blame him, he's good enough to play quite a few games for a half dozen ball clubs at the least. We can't always be right! JK, but you're point was very valid.
  11. I like this move, a lot. YAY! It made my Sunday!
  12. QUOTE(JERMAINEDYE4MVP @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 06:51 PM) 10. 1976 Cincinnati Reds Okay yes I'm a bit biased but how would you like to have been an oposing pitcher and faced this lineup. Rose, Morgan, Griffey Sr. Foster, Conception. And they won the World Seiries in Decisive Fashion. 9. The 1969 New York Mets This is not so much for the team but how they did it. When you look at the lineup or pitching roster no one really jumps out at you (except for Nolan Ryan) but we all remeber that just 7 years only the mets lost 120 games. Aamazing turn around (yes pun intended). 8. The 1998 New York Yankees Jeter, Williams, Rvera, and clemens. With all of those great players its no wonder the yanks won 114 reagular season games 7. The 1917 Chicago White (black) Sox Of course this team will always be remebered for throwing the World Series but many people forget why they where heavy favorites in the firstplace. With two 30 games winner and Shoeless Joe Jackson If they weplaying at the full power I honestly believe they would've won. 6.The 1960 New York Yankees The last year of Casey Stengal manegerial stint with the yankees was perhaps his best. The only reason they aren't higher is they didnt win the Series, but with Mantle, Maris , Berra, and Ford. This was an amazing team. 5. The 1966 Los Angeles Dodgers They didn't have a lot of power but when you've got Koufax, and Drysdale on the hil you don't need power. Two of the best pitchers of their era, and perhaps of all time. 4. The 1908 Chicago Cubs Another one of those not for the team but the circumstances around it. 98 yearsl ater the cubs are still praying for another one. 3. The 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Now this was not the best brooklyn team of the era but from 1947-54 de bums had been getting the hearts broken by the Yankees, so when they finally won it in 55' the whole city rioted. 2. The 1927 New York Yankees With ruth and gherig in their prime the yankees were a force to be reckoned with in the season and the series. The defining momentwould have to be when ruth hit 3 homers in game 4. 1. The 2005 Chicago White Sox Who else? The 05 White Sox were so dominat that they defined the standards for postseason play. They outscored their opponets by a total of 33 runs. Never before have we witnessed such lopsided margin of victory in postseaon play. So is this your own biased list or did you find this on some website?
  13. QUOTE(lord chas @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) 2003 cubs QFT
  14. Two huge thumbs up from the Titoman! I like it a lot.
  15. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) Bonds had a bad year by his standards. 26 homers, .270 BA, 130 games. I think the guy is rapidly falling apart. He's a liability in the outfield. He can't run the bases like he used to. He's an injury concern. Even if he were Mr. Personality in the Clubhouse instead of Mr. Flesh Eating Cancer, he is surely on the decline baseball-wise. He's not worth what he thinks he's worth... and that can cause other clubhouse problems. This isn't 2003 Barry Bonds. Last year he was a shell of his former self. His skills are diminishing, he's injury prone, he'll be over paid and he's a jerk. oh yeah... sign me up Bonds' .454 OBP and .999 SLG say hello. So does his above average LF percentage.
  16. Im glad Garcia is gone, because he was a loser in the clubhouse. I was so sick of that s*** of him showing up his teammates.
  17. I don't have much of a problem with it, I guess. I would hope he wouldn't let ALL of them go. Maybe keep Buehrle and Garland around or something. We'll see, thats a long ways away.
  18. Come on K-Dubb. Pull the trigger, any trigger! I'm getting antsy over here!
  19. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) we should just get pujols. I hear he played a great LF in Little League...
  20. I'd like Bonds on the South Side, but he'd be too expensive.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) Kenny uses the media to position himself in negotiations, take anything Kenny says to the media with a grain of salt. QFT.
