  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2013 -> 06:07 AM) Were you in the street ball group with Robinson Cano? That was really cool. Indeed I was. That was a very fun moment to witness.
  2. Dan Hayes of CSN did a piece about the Fan Cave. Read & enjoy! (I've got a few quotes in there, as well as an awkward video of me talking.) http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox-talk/m...nture-looks-hit
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ May 9, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) Do the Pirates have fans? I'd like to think so. I'm meeting one tomorrow. So they've gotta exist.
  4. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 7, 2013 -> 07:20 PM) Alright, I'm predicting we get some baserunners this inning. At least one. I meant the next inning.
  5. Alright, I'm predicting we get some baserunners this inning. At least one.
  6. I'm getting the SNY feed & Ron Darling says that Santiago is telegraphing his changeup. So there's that...
  7. Time to ruin #HarveyDay as the Mets fan here in the Fan Cave always says.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 7, 2013 -> 11:45 AM) How was it meeting Jake today? Incredible. He was a great guy to give a tour to/have around. Told us some great stories & sang some songs with some friends of his. Told me the back is good to go as well.
  9. Since there's no catch-all thread anymore, I don't know if this was brought up earlier in the game thread but... Jordan Danks has 2 homeruns at the major league level. They're both of the game winning variety. Fun stuff, eh?
  10. It's rough, especially since they frown upon punching walls. I manage, though. But Ultimate is right, could always be '07.
  11. If I can find a place in the Lower Manhattan area where I can get it done, it's a done deal.
  12. Hey guys, I wrote about Hawk's appearance on MLB Network. Let me know what you guys think. http://mlb.mlb.com/fancave/blog.jsp?conten...bid=bticCrA8024
  13. Oh, I will be on MLB Player Poll on Fox tomorrow at 2pm central. So watch & tell me how awkward I look.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) This was an actual headline for the Edmonton Sun online after R.A. Dickey was pulled from the game with a stiff neck and the Blue Jays went on to win 3-1 that I thought you might want to share with your cave dwellers. Stiff Dickey pulled, but happy ending for Blue Jays against White Sox . Now if you're sports minded you might say "so what, it's just a normal headline." But carefully read the 1st 6 words.. Later they changed the title but I found the original title on a news feed I get of all online articles about the Sox. We saw a tweet that said something along the lines of "Stiff Dickey wins...this story just wrote itself."
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 05:22 PM) Time to give her hell ! Didn't get to do much of that this past weekend...
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) And she is a fan of whistles and owls? It's always gotta be something... I know the bio reads like a weirdo (which she kinda is) but she's seriously one of the coolest girls I've ever met. I mean besides being an Indians fan, but we all can't be perfect.
  17. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 04:06 AM) Unbiased in case you get on TV and use the word. Well played. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) I see some Padre dudes stopped by...I got you at a 99% chance of meeting some Sox players in August. Or in May when they're in town playing the Mets.
  18. Oh, we'll be on MLB Network shortly with Alanna Rizzo.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) Booooo, where's the homer pick?! I'm trying to be unbias here!
  20. Also, Majestic Apparel completely hooked all of us up today. I'm so lucky.
  21. In my latest blog I make my 2013 predictions. Will they work out? Probably not, but it's fun to predict. http://mlb.mlb.com/fancave/blog.jsp?conten...bid=bticCrA8024
  22. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 06:15 AM) Saw you on Mike&Mike this morning! Congrats! Thanks!
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) Maybe you can suggest to your fellow cave dwellers that you alternate which games are on the larger screens based on the fandom. Since there are 9 of you those 9 favorite teams should be on the big screens most. Changes should be allowed based on things like no hitters and perfect games being in the late innings. I have no idea what goes into being the winner but actively suggesting changes to make the experience better can't hurt. Also wireless headphones would be a good idea so whoever is watching can listen to their own individual audio. We'll all be able to watch any game we want no problem. I highly doubt I'll miss any key moment from the upcoming season. With 15 TV's at our main center, we all get to watch what we want.
  24. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) I watched the video of the Mancave on the MLB.com and saw it had a lot of TVs so you can watch as many games as possible. I was wondering how big are the monitors ? Are there some larger than others and if so how is it decided which game is on the larger monitors ? If I had to guess, the larger TVs are about 50 inches. As far as which games are on the larger monitors, I think it's all chosen at random. The "cave monster" where I assume we'll spend a bunch of our time will have a number of games on. I think the only thing we have to decide is what audio we'll listen to for games.
