  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) wow, Nick was not picking up those pitches at all, he looked way out front They are making Robertson throw a lot of pitches Same with cabrera. At least they are making them work. The tiger bullpen is pitiful.
  2. NL East - Mets NL Central - chubbies NL West - D'Backs WC - Philli AL East - Red sox AL Central - Indians AL West - Mariners WC - White Sox Indians over D'backs
  3. There weren't any good #3s on the market this year is a better reason.
  4. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) For the upcomming season... Vazquez = Verlander Rogers Bonderman > Contrera Willis >= Danks Robertson >= Floyd So, to take into account their rotation is as good or even better then ours, plus they have the best offense in baseball, it's tough to see how they will win only 79, but we somehow win 90. Our only real advantage against them is our pen. Todd Jones is gonna get lit up. Like I said, I have talked about this too much. Go look through my posts if you want to know my opinion on their staff. Talking to you is dreadful in general.
  5. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) wow, the Tigers win only 79? With possibly the best offense in baseball, and a pitching staff which ain't all that bad, they only muster up 79 wins? But we get 90... wow. I'd take it, but I am being kind when I say HIGHLY unlikely. Their pitching staff sucks. I've talked about it 100 times, don't want to do it again, and yes, ours is better.
  6. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) So what's the latest on the game? BTW I highly doubt anybody's going on the DL for wisdom teeth. I had all four out at once and I could have played the next day. An announcer in a game I was watching mentioned that some basketball player in the tourney had to be put in a self induced coma for 15 days to have his taken out. Apparently that can get pretty nasty.
  7. 90 wins exactly. 2nd behind the indians. The tigers win 79 games.
  8. QUOTE(southsidehawkeye @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 12:22 PM) 88... like many here, Im an optimist. I think you are at the wrong site.
  9. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 05:00 PM) Really, Dye wasn't injured last year? That explains why he played in 138 games and missed 10 days from June 22nd to July 2nd. I seem to remember that Dye was pretty banged up the entire first half with some type of hip injury, but he was playing through it because the Sox other option was Ryan Sweeney, who put up a massive .598 OPS in 50 PAs. lol, how ironic
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 04:54 PM) When he has been healthy, Dye has preformed. If you call down him being always injured, I guess his career was up and down. He wasn't injured last year however, and last time I checked, having super slow bat speed is not an injury. Uh, yeah he was by his own admission. Edit Oops, looks like everyone already proved you were way off about that.
  11. Yeah I've read weaver is #1 as well in a few different places. Not sure where people are getting the garland info.
  12. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) I fail to see how's that possible now since Dye is signed to a fairly large contract for 2 more years after this season... and Dye has regressed more so then any other player in baseball over the past year. So, if has the type of year I see him having, it's gonna be a tough to unload him. And are you seriously gonna sit there and tell me the Giants will not give anything for either Crede or Uribe, when they are going to have players from a-ball to start for them. Kenny Williams has some sick dillusion that Crede and Uribe are actually worth something more via trade. There is no reason why we should have pulled Uribe back from waivers. The other team would take on his 4.5 million dollar contract, that is incentive enough to let him go bye-bye. To say dye regressed is a bunch of bull. His whole career has been up and down.
  13. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 12:31 AM) I like Josh, but he's no consolation prize at this stage, to me. At the least we'll get to watch Cabrera quite often over the next few years, but I wish he were a White Sox. Well he will be cheap so we can use the money for the next big guy to come out. Now who could that be?
  14. I don't think too many people think juan should get more time over richar, he is just injured.
  15. The only cub I ever liked was because he was so under appreciated, by drunken idiot cubs fans, jacque jones. Its not like he was a super star, but I hated that they would actually boo their own player while he was trying to bat.
  16. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) So true.. he is one of the worst hitters I've seen in my few years watching baseball. Although, wasn't Ozzie also one of the worst? I remember reading a list somewhere that had him in the lower 25 of hitters all-time (along with Uribe). Maybe Ozzie feels for him... Eh, they had about the same avg and OBP. Uribe had a lot more power. Interesting to say though, in 7 seasons juan has about 100 more strikeouts than ozzie did in his 16 year career.
  17. QUOTE(Disco72 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) ERAs in 2004 of B-le, Garcia, Garland, Count, and Duque: 3.89, 3.81, 4.89, 5.53, 3.30 (in only 84.2 innings). And we definitely aren't very far from that.
  18. What we should be comparing is what they had going into 2005, not what they had in 2005. Not just their ERAs either. El Duque only pitched like 90 innings in 04.
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) Actually, I was quite high on the White Sox going into 2005 because of their pitching staff and the addition of a true leadoff hitter and a catcher who could actually hit. Do you remember before 05 when we had 5th starter woes? What do you think of 3rd, 4th, AND 5th starter woes? I'd sooner believe you are high now.
  20. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 02:08 PM) I'd put my house on him not having increased value. It will probably stay about the same, but he usually starts off hot. The point is, he might just get traded when we dont need him and you are panicking now. You are also panicking with joe and josh. If you want to blame anyone for josh being sent down, blame joe for sucking major horse dong in spring and being greedy and selfish last year, not kenny.
  21. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) Jesus christ that exists? Much unlike jesus christ, ironically.
  22. My point is, you have no clue as do I, what is going to happen when Richar is healthy again. Uribe may have increased his value, decreased it, or it might be the same. So why not put him back on waivers when we have the opportunity in a month and a half? Or maybe a better move could be made if he stays hot. Instead you are just complaining about our bad luck of richar getting hurt at this moment.
