  1. Willis can't throw strikes supposedly, not going to give much credit to Swisher for that one.
  2. I might put him 9th, but I wouldn't lead him off and put swisher 6th or cabrera anywhere but two. I really don't see it as game changing. One could also want hall to have the least amount of at bats of the two.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) I like getting Pablo in there, but batting 8th? Where would you put him?
  4. Supposedly we dont have to hear buck or mccarver. I like that.
  5. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) I think he absolutely would have caught that ball. And his "apology" comes waaaaaaaaaaaay too late. If he hadn't thrown his glove down like a child, if he'd realized that sometimes fans reach out for foul balls, and if he'd been a professional and just gone back to his position and waited for the next pitch, who knows what would have happened? From ESPN http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3324343 Clearly he does lack professionalism as you said. I wonder why he goes through all the trouble of peeing on his hands.
  6. Here is a half decent shot of him Here is what he looks like from behind. Not too many good shots of him.
  7. Alou would have caught the ball. He is just being nice. All of the other things the writer said are probably true, as is the fact that alou said he wouldn't have gotten it. As to being kind to bartman and not laughing at him, screw that. I laugh at every cub fan who blames him too. They can be apologetic to him. To me it will always be hilarious. What I was thinking was imagine being the guy next to bartman, the one in grey. He was just as guilty, but not as gifted as bartman or as unlucky perhaps and couldn't get his paws on the ball though he tried. Steve Bartman.
  8. Willis will last 3-4 innings, then we see their pen. Guy can't throw a strike.
  9. Nice, he hit the go ahead double for the win.
  10. QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 12:21 AM) that seemed like an unfinished statement. yes he was good last year... BUT... Just that its one year and he hasn't proven that he is a lasting force.
  11. I'm still a skeptic that he is a #2 MLB pitcher. Yes he was good last year.
  12. I agree that he wasn't good but with better defense Contreras could have allowed as little as 3 runs or with some bad luck, double digits too. The same goes for the tigers point of view, though more pessimistic. The tigers could have easily let up 15 runs today.
  13. I disagree? Weird of you to say things so matter of fact like you are the only one who watched the game.
  14. QUOTE(pierard @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) According to this http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/roster...=average_weight the Sox are tied with Yankees as the fattest team in the MLB with an average weight of 221. I'm guessing that's why MacDougal (175 lbs) is on the roster, so the Sox don't own the title outright. Not a lot for me to really be negative about... The sox are the 4th tallest while the yankees are 1st, so they win the simplistic, negative fat title. (unless you want more math) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/roster...=average_height
  15. I am not as down on the count as most people. He only sucked a little. He didn't get much help defensively. He struggled too, yes, but it wasn't as bad as most people in other threads would say.
  16. lol, reds fans Anyway, I just did watch that game while I paged through the game thread. I wasn't on the interwebs in 2005. That was classic with pods, but I'd say he made an equal ass of himself as McCarver did. They are both legally retarded.
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) Encarnacion Owns Brantley Hahahaha. That was classic. I've never heard "I don't think that taste is there." Well apparently I have seen it several times, just never even noticed. I may have to watch that game right now.
  18. Dorntrelle Willis is going to get lit up tomorrow and all year long.
  19. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...gameday#gameday 9th inning, at the center/bottom of the screen, there's a video link to the dye catch with a slow-motion replay of it Thanks. Yeah that couldn't be much closer.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) Floyd is going to be extremely pivotal for us. Danks needs to keep it at a high level and his ERA around 4 and Floyd needs to go Garland-esque for us to compete. If by garland esque you mean his career avg, then well maybe. I still don't think we need that much from one particular player like you make it out to be. Its up to the whole pitching staff.
  21. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing Floyd pitch tomorrow. So excited about this year. They are going to be fun. One question, and this can be another thread, but if the White Sox start winning and are in or close to first place, do you trade Crede and/or Uribe? Or do you wait out the year... I trade one/I trade juan.
