QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) Seriously, its obvious you skimmed to the paragraph headers and then went on super defend the White Sox mode. How does this statement in my original post say I blame Kenny for Richar's injury? Just show me that one spot and I'll care what you have to say. Right now, however, you're on my ignore list. 4-6 isn't a few weeks.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) I don't blame him for Richar breaking a rib. I blame him for not taking a golden opportunity to move Juan Uribe. He could have just as easily signed Marcus Giles whose production would be downright identical at 1/5 of Uribe's salary. Uribe knows he's unwanted, and now he's still here. They are throwing away money, but like I said that's not my problem. I actually watch these games though, and watching Uribe for ONE MORE AT BAT will be one too many. Interesting tidbit from Jason Grey today. Yeah that would make a huge difference. Giles could come up and hit .229 for less power. Awesome move!

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, dude. If you're ecstatic the Sox didn't cut ties with Uribe, good for you... me? I'm a realist. No, I was happy they put him on waivers and supposedly someone picked him up. Then richar broke his rib and I was happy when they took him off waivers. Richar will heal, and uribe will be gone. Kenny made the right moves. I don't see how you can blame him for richar breaking a rib.

Blah blah blah. Overreaction blame-game bulls*** with simple minded answers for complex situations. You may be Steve #9347, & you'll never be Steve Number One to me. You're a real man of long winded complaints based on false pretenses. Is it kenny's fault richar got injured? We have a lot of young talent in the OF, even more than we thought, and that's a bad thing. Ever think that maybe we can get more for crede with a month up here? Ever think that maybe josh could use some work on his plate discipline and glove work? Those are the answers to the summary of your three major complaints.

Fine. Haeger then. Anyone else. Massett wasn't good at any level in the minors.

Broadway should have been the guy.

Slumming it at the Urinal in the Desert
max power replied to knightni's topic in 2008 Season in Review
Yep. I'm a big idiot. I wonder why people don't pay me to say stupid things on the radio. -
Oh crap...Miggy Cabrera agrees to 8 more years with Tigs

QUOTE(daa84 @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 03:41 PM) haha ron santo thinks the brewers still have cordero as their closer lol Boers and Bernstein thought the same thing two days ago. I was yelling at the radio, calling them retarded, like a crazy person. -
QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 05:28 PM) I remember getting flamed last season when I said losing Hall (same time last season) wasn't a big loss. I still have yet to be proven wrong. What? I don't think you could have been more wrong. Had he not been injured he might have produced something like his career numbers.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) Heres a question, who is the long relief/swing guy if its not Masset. I would have kept broadway up.

I believe the white sox and dodgers had or have a deal in the works to partner in a new spring training facility. Is that still in the works or no?
-
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) He will CLEAR waivers 100%........Sox will pay the freight! Well save the crying until that happens. If It does, I will be as upset as you are about how this part of the offense went down. Still, even if it does, I think kenny improved this team as much as he could without over paying for talent.
-
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 04:30 PM) they were already willing to spend that much more anyway with Hunter's signing. they had already budgeted more for this year, but instead they couldnt get Hunter and got the cheaper Swisher. so we'll spend more money in a future year when there are attractive options again. Exactly. This team wouldn't have paid way over market value regardless of if they saved money on another deal.
-
So if a team picks up uribe off waivers, we will actually save money since he signed for less and we avoided the buy out. Will all of you still be whining like little babies?
-
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) KW to sign Uribe to begin with shows me KW had no real plan! HE had a plan. It didn't work. It was well documented after the fact. If you weren't paying attention that's your fault.

Pods Returns, Let the Celebration Begin!
max power replied to knightni's topic in 2008 Season in Review
Masset sucks at baseball. He wasn't even average in the minors. Why this management loves him so much is beyond me. Way beyond me. -
I don't hate him personally. I hate that he is basically being handed the long relief job. I hate that he is given so many chances with zero results in ANY level of baseball. So if I were more eloquent I would have said "I hate Masset for that role"

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) The team has 10 days to trade him or for another team to claim him off of the waiver wire and agree to pick up his contract as written. If that doesn't happen, the Sox are on the hook for the full price for this year. You can guess how many GM's would be happy to pick up that contract right now if they expect they can sign Uribe for a lot less 10 days from now. Probably the only shot is to trade Uribe for a fringe minor leaguer somewhere and hope that we can talk a team into paying 1/2 of his salary in exchange for first dibs at him. Thanks for posting something informative instead of just complaining. Edit: worse, b****ing about spending money that isn't even theirs

This is so crazy, it might just work! Naaah.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) Fields at 2B? Why was this article posted*? *written -
I guess I just don't understand why teams think he is capable of being useful. He was bad in the minors for several years, now he is worse in the majors. Why the attraction? He just isn't a pitcher, he never was. He is just a thrower.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) On that issue, it gets back to the lack of options. Whether you like him or not, it's not worth giving him up for nothing. I think it is. He has had one minor league stint that impressed me in his whole career. If he has no value, why not just let him leave? If he doesn't have enough value that there isn't another team that wants him, why do we?
-
Good to know. I am just repeating what hawk or kenny or someone else said about who was competing for the long relief job on saturday. So if it isn't Masset, who is it? I really hate masset. Why not broadway or haegar? Anyone but massett, seriously, anyone.
