QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) Trust me, I'm a huge Clowney fan. That USC/UGa game last year was probably my favorite game of the year. I actually saw a projection that had GT playing USC in a bowl game. No matter what GT's record is, I want NO part of that offense. We can't even stop FCS teams running the triple option. I want nothing to do with a Paul Johnson team with 3+ weeks to prepare. -

I think that came out wrong. What I MEANT to say was, I dont think either Te'o or Clowney are deserving of any talk for the Heisman, not even remotely. But somehow that didn't correlate to what I typed. Te'o has done nothing overall to deserve an invite to NY, much less actual consideration for the trophy. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) He's not even the best defensive player on his own team (Tuitt has much more impressive stats). Jarvis Jones of UGa is probably the most impactful defensive player in the country. Rock, Te'o has 1.5 sacks, not 10. Not sure I'd agree with the Jarvis Jones bit. He flat out disappeared in a few games this year, including the blowout vs. South Carolina. I'd argue that Jadeveon Clowney has more of an impactful presence than Jones, and I don't think he is remotely close to being deserving of such talk that Te'o is getting for the heisman. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) Sorry the score won't be 75-72, but it could still be a great football game. Coming from a guy with a team in the SEC, this post is interesting. Not sure how anything ND has done this season is considered 'exciting' honestly. And no, I don't want a 75/72 game either, but I guess something about a defensive battle isn't appealing. Offense > defense in terms of which is more enjoyable to watch. And lets be honest, only the true fans of a team really think a defensive oriented team is a joy to watch. No one else gives a damn about watching 10 points in a game. If I wanted to watch that, I'd watch soccer. About the same amount of scoring. And yes, my team is a mediocre offensive team that relies on defense. I'd much rather watch a team that I thought could score 40 points a game, with an average defense instead. -

Alabama-ND would be the biggest snoozefest Title game ever. Sorry, nothing appealing about 2 mediocre offenses pillow fighting each other for the title. -

As an outsider, I have to say the ND blatant homerism is comical if nothing else. Good reading here! -

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 10:14 AM) Been looking for this one for a while. Am I going to be able to find it when I get to IL this weekend? Good luck. It disappeared pretty quickly in my area down south.

QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) You either love it or hate it. I hate it. Thats just blaspheming....I went through 4-6 Pumpkin beers in the last few weeks, and by far, Pumking was the superior one IMO.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) As I am a big Leinenkugel's guy, I had to try their new Snowdrift Vanilla Porter that just came out over the weekend. I have to say it is quite tasty. I'm not big into vanilla, but it wasn't a real strong vanilla taste to it. Had one myself. It was...ok I guess, I was expecting more vanilla oomph myself, and didn't get it. Otherwise, a decent tasting beer.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) There's going to be another QOTSA album, and Dave Grohl is going to play drums on it. And if we're lucky enough, there will be a tour following, with Dave aboard. And I will be there, wherever it may be. Speaking of music and a totally different direction, I'm TOTALLY bummed that, of the 12 shows that the Monkees (Peter, Micky, Mike) are doing, NONE are even remotely close to the Southeastern U.S. But, I am off to see The Who tonight, so that almost makes up for it.

No offense, but James Franklin is just about the worst SEC QB I've seen this year, and that is saying a lot. Nonchalant, no zip on anything, can't throw a deep ball to save his life. Mizz coulda won that game with even a serviceable QB. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) I am not sold on K-state. I would like to see Bama vs Oregon. No thanks, SEC vs Oregon v1.0 wasn't good enough to re-do. I'll take KState or Alabama vs...gulp, Notre Dame. I hate the Irish, but I don't want to see Oregon's Pac10/12 track meet get stymied yet again against anyone east of the Mississippi. -

That was gruesome looking, poor kid. At some point, mentally, this has to really make you question if you want to keep taking the risks. -

The offense is below average at best at Florida. Course, you give any team 21 points in the first half, they should be able to win. 3 weeks in a row that Florida hasn't even thrown for 100 yards, and still won. -

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) I think it's a little different than Gunner, as these kids are decommiting from big time programs to join the Hoosiers. Gunner mainly decommitted because his brother lost the starting job... Add in the fact that IU is actually showing some serious improvement, even if they are "moral" victories. We're putting up some monster offensive numbers, without our best player and QB in Tre Roberson. If they get some playmakers on defense, they could be pretty tough. Thing is, once Indiana turns the corner. I expect Wilson to be gone. Hearing right now that... Kenny 4 star DE who decomitted from Iowa, Latham 4 star DT who decomitted from Wiscy, Daniel 4 star DE committed to Clemson, and Allen 4 star safety committed to IU... will all be at Hoosier Hysteria this weekend to make their commitments (if they haven't already). Good luck with that. Usually when someone commits to Clemson, amazingly it holds up no matter what. I have no idea what is in the water up there, or what is in the bags, but something is. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 05:20 PM) I definitely know what you mean about playing a night game in Death Valley, though I still think SC wins this one. But yeah, Les Miles always seems to find ways to win so it should be a good game. Btw, thanks for the beatdown y'all put on Georgia. I loved it. We find a way to beat LSU, then there is the HUGE game at Florida for what amounts to the SEC East title. That is no slight towards Tennessee, but thats our last conference road game, and a win in both of them would most likely be the division. Ya'll have a good game I'm looking forward to this week. I mean, Miss St looks pretty decent, but part of me always thinks that Tennessee will handle Miss St, regardless of where it is. -

Part of me wants to believe that we can go into Baton Rouge, at night, and beat a pretty average LSU offensive team.. Then the other part of me remembers that Les Miles has lost 1 home night game ever.....and that was to the 2009 BCS champion Florida team. This one is going to test my heart, Saturday night. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) I must say, I miss the .gif from last year - Ingram's TD + the UGA mascot's reaction = priceless I'm still pulling for SC if UT can't do it (of course, with their only loss being to Tennessee). I can't stand UGA or Florida. I was rooting for Tennesse bigtime today, I hate UGa ALMOST as much as I hate Clemson...actually, sometimes it seems like I hate both of them equally. Game experience in Athens is absolutely awful for opposing team's fans. Redneck, trashy abysmal failure of an experience. I loved my trip up to Knoxville, fantastic college town and experience. I was disappointed in Tennessee's lack of pressure on Murray. Dude will crumble like the Berlin Wall when pressured, but UT didn't get enough on him. Gameday in Columbia SC next week, and we need desperately to shut these asshat Georgia fans up. oh danman, here, I'll change it...in honor of the big game this week... -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:28 PM) I'm really disappointed right now. We had it there for the taking and just couldn't execute. I don't know what Bray was thinking on those last drives. Just trying to force it for no reason. 2 turnovers in Georgia territory while going for the win. Can't do that. Definitely promising aspects of that game, but man, the upset would have been awesome. Had all the opportunity in the world to beat UGa today man, dangit. Bray just played like he had s***forbrains when it mattered most. -
After going cheap for....as long as I can remember, when we bought our house, I finally decided to buy something worth sleeping on. Serta iComfort Insight is what we went with, after trying out many different ones. Yes, you are going to get sticker shock probably, but hell, you spend so much time in bed, at least make it comfortable. Cost: $1800 we spent.

Everytime I listen to the first Them Crooked Vultures CD, it leaves me impatient for anything new from them. I wish JPJ would hurry up with his side project, before Grohl and Homme put anything else out, so we may finally get the opportunity to hear new TCV music.

I went up to Knoxville when I was a S. Carolina season holder. Fun trip, great college town. It was cold as piss though, that was back when Tennessee and S. Carolina played each other at the end of October, and when the wind came off the water there, it got EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Great road trip for a game though, for sure! We lost that game thanks to Travis Stephens for Tenn... Now, Athens GA, on the other hand...worst away game experience I've ever had. Terrible, TERRIBLE fans. S. Carolina went down and beat Georgia the day I was there, and UGa fans were throwing stuff at the S.C. fans, cursing and spitting...it was terrible.
