Verizon announces iPhone
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Has anyone heard whether Verizon will be offering an unlimited data plan? I dont want to lose the one i have with at&t if verizon doesn't offer it. WSJ says yes to unlimited plans Me, I'm going to change. I've been with a Blackberry Storm for almost 2 years, and I've learned just how much of an abomination RIM actually is.

Disappointing. Turns out you can't win games when you give the other team the ball 5 times in one half. Bowl losses, we're used to them in Columbia, South Carolina.

In other news, LOL at the hapless Clemson Tigers, even though they made the game look closer than it was. 6-7 season, grats boys!

Maybe Tyler Bray will learn to do a little less 'saluting' next time around. Grow up, kid. The game ain't over until it is over.

Peavy
I want one Edwin Jackson on this team for a few years to come, he came over and whatever they saw that was wrong in his delivery, it was fixed fast. He was a huge bright spot last year. Now with that being said, I know he won't be here long term unfortunately, something about his agent, money demands....

QUOTE (Nyx81 @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) Really good show. I hope us viewers don't have to wait forever for season 2. May be waiting almost a year! Man, I hope not.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) FYI, for anyone who hasn't started watching Breaking Bad, AMC is going to start from the beginning tonight and every Wed night with an episode leading up to the season premiere in about 34 weeks. Good time to start and set those DVRs. Yeah, we have it set to record on the DVR starting tonight, I've never seen it.

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
If the 3/30 offer from the Diamondbacks was the only other legitimate offer, then sure...overpay happened. I'm just wondering if the Rangers or Orioles were flashing anything close to what we were.

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:30 PM) At first you would be shocked the Sox gave Paulie 3 years. I love Paulie but this is an overpay, however if Carlos Pena can get $10 million after the year he had its a bargain. Yeah, Pena's money for what he produced last year is quite odd. I wonder where that is going to put DLee at, moneywise...

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
Lefty: Thornton Righty: Santos Long Relief: Pena or someone of that ilk LOOGY: Byrdak ROOGY: someone we'll find in the system Closer: Sale Where is this huge demand for a high priced 'pen arm? If we get one, great, if not, it isn't like we're running straight scrubs out there...

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:13 PM) I may be optimistic about certain things, but I am very realistic when it comes to handing out contracts and acquiring players and our payroll. We're going to lose a lot of games 9-8 this year when our bullpen consists of me, you and ss2k5 because we can't afford to sign anyone. How do we know we 'can't afford to sign anyone'? I'm not sure anyone on this board right now, knows what the final payroll is going to be. Putz, yes would have been a guy I wanted back, but he is gone. Move on to the next guy. How often do bullpen guys signed for multi-years, actually earn that money? Our 'pen has been a crapshoot of unknowns for many years, lots of who worked out, some who didn't...I know I would rather have a failed experiment with a guy making $200k than a guy making $15 mil over 2 years, who will give you probably...100 innings for that 15 million.

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) You're astounded? I want JJ Putz as my damned closer. PK precluded that from happening. Stop acting like his kids would go hungry if he took 3/$30. So...taking your own stance on things....it can't be said that JJ Putz was more concerned about what was good for the team, he jumped at the best offer $$$ wise. Is it only an issue when it relates to a move you wanted made?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) For me it's the third guaranteed year. Not the million dollars. But I don't really care. I'm so stoked we got Dunn that we could extend Juan Pierre 5 years and I wouldn't complain (I'm lying my f***ing ass off. But you get the point). You heard it here!! Lets start campaigning to get Juan Pierre extended to 2016, with $20 mil deferred to 2017-2036!

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 11:19 AM) So as of right now we have pretty much the same exact offensive lineup from last year except Dunn replaces Kotsay...right? Well, we can NEVER replace the grittyness of one Mark Kotsay...

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 11:03 AM) The Cubs are committed to Carlos Pena for nothing in 2012 or 2013, or 2014-2019, for that matter. I hardly call 0.9% of a normal payroll 'committed' from 2014-2019...I mean seriously man, c'mon. If you don't like the 3rd year, ok that can be argued I guess?..but calling out the deferred money is kinda silly.

Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
30 doubles, 30 homers, .350 OBP, Definitive Team Captain...thats reason enough for the pricetag. I mean, Dunn and Konerko both for under $30 mill a year and people are still complaining?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) It's around $12.5M as is but Paulie has an option to take over Roger Bossard's duties cutting the grass for an additional $1.5M per year. Not Bossard! Hawk would have a coronary if he didn't have Bossard's grass cutting skills to be in awe of.- Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
The deal is believed to be worth about $14MM per year, tweets Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse. Now, I hope it is closer to 12.5 than 14, but we'll see...- Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
Donkey-Kong Days are here, at last.- Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
OK, at 37.5 over 3, there shouldn't be anyone on this board complaining. And our offense, is intact. Get us an arm or 3, and lets win this G.D. division.- Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox

Kong is Jerry's guy, we all know he is going to do just about everything he can to make sure he is playing on the Southside next year. Lets just hope he can get Landis to make, at least SOME concessions on the demands.- Winter Meeting Buzz
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) Rangers are shopping Michael Young around to save money for Lee. Isn't he someone Kenny has been linked with in the past? 16 mil a season for the next 3 years. That'd be payroll suicide. - Paul Konerko Re-Signs with White Sox
