Clusterf*** Also shenannigans...

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Career ERA is still over 5.50. Get back to me when he puts together a consistent effort for a while rather than a few good games. Is this the "career" that consists of a total of 78.2 IP before this year? 5 total games started in this "career". I don't really see how 60 games prior to the 2005 season is enough to gage Cotts entire worthiness on.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) Cause they're a better band? IMO, no question. Every release Foo has put out has been consistently better than the last, and thats not saying that the first CD was crap at all. Hell it is in my car right now. Just that Dave and the boys are getting even better as they go, and they were solid to start with.
-
Also, in case people wanted to start "I HATE COTTS" crap, I figured I'd list his stats for you to ponder. YEAR G GS IP H R HR BB SO K/9 W L Hld Sv BS BAA WHIP ERA 2005 18 0 16.0 13 7 0 8 15 8.44 1 0 2 0 0 .213 1.31 3.38 For a reliever, his WHIP sucks, no arguing that...but he hasn't been THAT bad...and since he is signed for $330,000 this year, I see a decent bargain.
-
In the last 10 GAMES, not days, Cotts has gotten this for work: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K Hard to be a long reliever when we haven't had a need for long relief I guess.
-
Eddies stats are quite good, but to get someone like Guardado, we'd have to give something more than bullpen fodder...even half way through the season. He is signed at a reasonably cheap $4 mill this season, and walks after 2005. If the Mariners don't get a pretty decent offer, they'll just hang on to him and let him walk via FA, take their draft pick. Seattle doesnt want to add anyone that will go towards their payroll after 2005 I'm sure, so it'd have to be a decent minor league talent. Nice name to throw out there though. Steady Eddie has been very solid for quite some time.

I don't see Wee Willie being sent anywhere....I'm counting on Shinjo goin to get his work in AAA, and hoping......REALLY hoping that OMIT Perez goes bye bye. If not, then Walker? We got guys in the pen that aren't getting any work, not sure what good the extra pitcher right now is doing.
-
Just wanted to add one little bit in here as I was reading the boxscores. Borchard now has 65 K's in 169 ABs...thats Rob Deer-like numbers. Not that I'm telling most of you guys anything you don't already know, but I think Uncle JR paid Borch $5+ million to never see the light of day in the MLBs.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) Yes, but I also like anybody that's better than Crede. That is everyone in MLB but like 12 players i think Jab...

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) So... Pitt might take "garbage" for Mackowiak? Garbage? This is OMIT f***ING PEREZ we're talking here!! Didn't you see that clutch hit 2 days ago? This guy is amazing!!
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) It may take a little more to get Mackoviak. Maybe one of the midlevel prospects. I wouldn't give up someone in the Sean Tracey range but even a guy like Andy Gonzalez (the SS) in addition to Diaz or Munoz, and Crede. The thing is he wasn't exactly amazing last year, but he was solid. Career wise, it seems like you could maybe expect .255 to .260 out of him but this year he's been fantastic. I also think you could project about 20 homers. Then wouldn't we be trying to get him at the worst possible time? Pittsburgh will obviously be asking for alot more than we wanna give, given the numbers Mack is putting up currently. Guy is hitting 71 points over his career Batting Average...Pitt will be asking for more than we should be giving at this point for an inconsistant bat to this point.
-
Ahh...gotcha Q....caught me a lil off guard there....right now we have NO 3-4-5 that would strike fear into the oppositions pitchers. I'm scared that when Frank is here 100%, teams won't hesitate to walk him, knowing that Kong and Dye aren't exactly world beaters. Hopefully they can at least be pseudo-threats behind the big man.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) Crede for Mackowiak? Done. Yep, and I'll even throw in a CLUTCH OMIT Perez!! He is a great utility man!!
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) Twins with morneua and mauer. Yankees with matsui ( even though he has the ability to put up monster numbers unlike carl. Red sox with ortiz. Orioles have palmeiro but that is probally a stretch. Angels with anderson. Rangers with blaylock and teixeira Cardinals with walker and edmonds. Marlins have delgado ( been doing awesome this year) Braves has chipper jones ( nice bounce back season you could say). Arizona who i don't think is very good but has stuck in it thus far has gonzalez and green. Dodgers with bradley and drew ( who is struggling average wise but still walks like a mother f***er) and you can even make a case for choi if he ever got regular playing time. Padres klesko and giles. Holy f***!! Wrong Thread!!?? Err, I think...

Sadly, thats about as good as it gets with lefties in there at the moment. At least AJ is down there in the order to break up the potential string of consecutive strikeouts/popouts.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 02:59 AM) 8 K's doesn't look bad when it's accompanied by 6 BB's. Agreed, just never like to see a 3 ABs per K ratio...thats one thing that always stands out to me...Borchard was 1 K per 3.5 ABs or so, and that was hellaciously bad. But not sayin Gload is anything like that! I'm sure its just him getting the swing back.
-
Ross Gload: Individual Stats (Batting) Team From To G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG Charlotte 05/23 05/30 7 26 7 10 1 0 1 2 14 6 8 0 0 .500 .538 .385 Gload been doin ok on rehab, K's are high but I still want Gload over OMIT on this team.
-
AaRow needs to be 3rd in that lineup. Bury Everett wherever we can down farther. And ya, I'm thinking we are gonna see OMIT in the lineup tomorrow also, DAMN YOU Timo for getting 1 important hit!! :fyou
-
Don't think any of us will mind being wrong about Hermy or Politte...I didn't like either of them being on this team, and very glad I was wrong.
-
Dave Grohl is a fantastic musical mind, don't think many can argue that. The man can just flat play, drums, guitar...whatever....I've been a huge Grohl and Foo fan for a long, long time.. 2 weeks until "In Your Honor" drops....2 discs, 1 acoustic, 1 reg......sounds nice

QUOTE(CubKilla @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) The Foo Fighters will play in place of NIN. Thanks Trent. FF's are better than NIN anyway Reznor you dope. Second that call Killa.....go Foo!!
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 31, 2005 -> 03:03 AM) Melikey Although the formatting of the CD reminds me a lot of the first album, if you get what I am saying Yes, much like the first CD, this one has very much religious undertones in the lyrics. If you were to tell me that the same band with whom Zach de la Rocha performed political outburst music with, could be put behind the fantastic voice of Chris Cornell and his almost gospel-like lyrical creations, I woulda scoffed at you. But Audioslave pulls it off better than anyone I'd have imagined.
-
Yep...Timo can play Rightfield AND Centerfield!! A true definition of utility player! Nice job Timo, but I still think you f***ing suck and have no business being on this team.
-
28...on the wrong side of mid-20s
-
While even I have grown tired of the Joe Crediocre show on the Southside of Chicago, I want NO part of Matsui. I've watched this guy play the middle infield since he came over here, and he is bad.
