  1. nice listen Jab....seems that having El Duque and Contreras helping each otehr is paying big dividends for us.
  2. Lord I hope not...at least not yet. I want our team to have a chance to gel. And we still have a huge "Pickup" coming at the end of May in Frank Thomas. Clubhouse chemistry is as good now as it has ever been, and I don't wanna sway it one way or another.
  3. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 5, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) For those not listening to the postgame, during the interview w/ PK you could hear Rowand cussing in the background. Our dear Bruce explained that he had been fined $40 for picking his nose on the bench. Funny stuff. Kangaroo Court...those guys probably get fined for all kinds of crazy stuff in the clubhouse
  4. We certainly didn't own anyone, but got some extremely lucky breaks at the right time, and pulled this game out of our ass. Sometimes I'd rather be lucky than good...
  5. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 5, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) Greinke does not deserve to be on the losing end of this game Neither did Contreras. Just the way it works out sometimes...
  6. Thank God....Contreras didnt deserve to be on the hook for a loss in this game. C'mon Pods, nice and easy....
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 5, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) Frank at first base? I highly doubt that. Sorry, I'm guilty of trying to fan the troll fires. I honestly don't expect Frank to play 1st at all, unless we have an emergency need for it.
  8. Konerko is doing his best to make Franks return back to first base smooth...down to .194 now, and hitless in last 22 ABs....
  9. Oh, and in case you overlooked it.. Jermaine Dye - .207 Paul Konerko - .194 Cleanup hitter with lowest average on the team...just thought I'd add some fuel to the fire for the haters...
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ May 5, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) That just goes to show you how unbelievable the pitching has been. When the offense does come around, and I believe it will, this team is gonna be scary good. Or, to play devils advocate...what happens when the pitchin returns to earth and the hitting still isnt there...
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 5, 2005 -> 03:34 AM) Still kenny williams fault. So is this 20 win team..its all Kenny Williams fault!
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 5, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) Another Neal Cotts apologist. I swear, between last season and this season the kid can do no wrong. Nothing is every his fault. If Ozzie decides to use Cotts for one batter, regardless of his perceived long relief role, his job is to retire the hitter. He failed. Doesn't change my confidence in his abilities, but I understand Ozzie's frustration. Nothing is more irritating than a reliever walking the first batter he faces upon entering the game. And rightfully, Oz went and yanked his ass out after the 1 walk. Never anywhere have I said I'm a "Neal Cotts apologist" as you put it. I'm saying that this "lets call him Botch because he walked someone" s*** is stupid.
  13. SO basically what you are saying is, you have no doubt we'll make a move? I'm not making excuses for Cotts' ability to seemingly walk someone every outing. Just really hate the "jump on Cotts and call him Botch" stupid s***. Ya, he has struggled...but nowhere CLOSE to Kochs complete breakdown with us.
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 5, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Ozzie using Cotts in wrong situations is no excuse to walk the first guy he faces EVERYTIME. Neal Cotts 7 BB 7 SO That's not good. But I have no doubt that Kenny will make a move for a RELIABLE lefty reliever if we are still winning like crazy by the trading deadline. Theres no reason for Cotts to be pitching there, but where else will he get work? our starters have been outstanding. Now, that is in no way an excuse for his BB/9 IP ratio. I'm just saying that I think it will be less of a problem when he is doing the long relief role he is groomed for.
  15. Calling Cotts Botch is getting pretty silly...Theres no comparison guys. Cotts is here as the long relief guy when one of our starters gets lit up...and yes, it will happen. thats the role that Cotts shines in, its just that he hasn't had the opportunity to do so because our starting pitching has been so good. So Oz uses him in situations where normally he wouldnt, just to get him some work.
  16. I used to use live365.com alot, but I moved on to rock.com Alternate 90s channel is real solid IMO
  17. You guys are seriously mssing the point of that post...thanks YAS for not making me be the only one hehe
  18. Don't kid yourself. KC has some very talented hurlers. Problem is, when they need a big hit, you look at that lineup and see only 1 guy that can beat you...and I doubt he'll be there much longer himself.
  19. Ya NUKE, but we havent exactly blown this "s***ty" team out of the water either. As Buehrle said we were lucky to win tuesday, and Hernandez was pitching a fine game today.
  20. How was The Pope Donn Pall tonight? Watching mlb.tv, I had the friggin KC broadcast yet again. Thoughts?
  21. QUOTE(kwill @ May 4, 2005 -> 02:12 AM) I hope he has an amazing year. So we can get good value for his ass in a trade and kick him in the ass and give him the finger ont he way out :finger I am glad that the man is having a great this season, but his ass is not worth 6 million dollars. We could get great value for him if he has a 15 win season. You do realize that 25 year olds with the grasp on MLB pitching like Jon Garland has don't just show up out of no where right?
  22. Last time out against our Pale Hose, Greinke looked real solid: 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 Ks This guy has some good stuff, if he was on a team that was worth half a damn, he'd have 2-3 wins IMO. Luckily we have Contreras on teh bump for us. Against KC his last time out: 3.1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 Ks Jose was pitching well in that game in KC before the injury, letse hope he can keep the walks down to a minimum, and get that well deserved first win of 2005
  23. Pinned, for your pleasure... I'll try to give some pbp, as I'll be at work early enough to catch most of it from here tomorrow. Its time to give Contreras his first win of the season guys.
  24. I think the stinging sarcasm was lost on many of the readers Hideaway. I appreciated it though
  25. Also, another fun stat. 2nd only to the Marlins in runs allowed in all of MLB.
