Not sure Bear, I cancelled my auto-resubscribe for the normal plan, then bought the premium.

Was sleeping off and on during the game today(15 hour workday right up until gametime). I see that Masset and Aardsma started the sucking early... 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 3 K Those walks are simply untolerable....give me a break. If you get beat, do it by making the opposing team HIT the ball.

BTW I update this daily, but because I use the same file name, you usually have to refresh the thread. Sorry, I'm set in my ways!!

Well folks, the 2007 season is indeed upon us. Opening day is but hours away and most of us view today as a second Christmas....a time where every team in the league has a shot to win it all(Except KC, they never do). Hope springs eternal for all of us MLB team fans. With those thoughts, and the knowledge that we Soxtalk folks love our gamethreads and the superstitions that come along with who starts them, I've got a nifty idea that I want to give a shot and be in charge of. Gamethread starters, we're gonna see just how 'lucky' you are this season. I'm going to keep a running tally of the Sox' record corresponding to the Soxtalker who started the thread. In addition, there are a couple more rules to keep it competitive for all: 1) Gamethreads CANNOT be started until the actual day OF the game. No coming on here 1 hour after todays game is over, and starting tomorrows. Everyone should have a fair shake at starting them. 2) If the Sox WIN, whoever started that days gamethread gets exclusive rights to start the next days gamethread. They have up until 2 hours before the game to get it posted, else its free reign for everyone. Feel free to post the next gamethread if you do start a winner, so that we are assured you start the next one. 3) The gamethread starter gets to continue in that manner as long as the Sox win each game, as long as the gamethread is posted in previous stated timeframes. 4) If the Sox LOSE, whoever started that days gamethread CANNOT start another gamethread for 7 calendar days....NOT 7 Sox games. All in all, its just for fun, but I'll be keeping track of those locked out of starting gamethreads, and the W-L of everyone over all in this thread. I wish you all luck, Steve9347 gets the honor to start the season. Go Sox, and go gamethread starters!!

Fortunes turned fast for Hermie, that sucks to see. Always will be one of the good guys that was an integral piece of a magical season on the Southside.

I'm HOPING for Ozuna/BA/Dye in the OF... yet I'm almost certain that if Oz cant put his boy Prancer out there, there is no way in hell he isn't gonna have grindErstad out there.

I think I may start something like that for the 2007 season. Seeing as I'm the one thats pretty anal about how the Gamethreads are archived, etc, I think it would be a fun thing....lets see how this sounds to folks: Gamethread starters: 7 game 'suspension' on starting the thread if we lose when you start. The train keeps a rollin' if we win when you start. It'll keep things fun, and I'll be the one that keeps up with it so no strain on anyone else. Thoughts?

GD it Steve, I was gonna wait a bit more before I started the official thread. Now the onus is on you!! If we lose tomorrow, you get a 7 day "No starting gamethreads" hiatus!!

Pods all of a sudden has some lingering issues with that groin, eh Oz.. Just put Erstad in LF, BA in CF with the exception of vs. lefties already... That quote makes me laugh....like there is any contest as to who should be in left against C.C.....good grief Ozzie...

I wouldnt want it any other way...no point in putting Prancer out there to look silly against C.C. Now, about CF and grindErstad/Ba....

Its hard to just 'ditch' a changeup. If learned properly, a changeup is a devastating pitch. Just ask Keith Foulke circa 2000.

Only question is why this isn't done already.....we have NO ONE in our system that is going to produce as an everyday MLB second baseman, don't even say Valido.... Tad is one of the underappreciated guys on this team. Get it done KW.

Hell, give me my grindErstad/BA/Dye OF, and I'll be the happiest Sox fan around(for at least 1 day). However, since we've had Pods penciled in as the starter the day KW and Oz knew he could walk straight again, theres no hope of such.

I'm just sold on the fact that Erstad in LF, BA in CF is our best OF option. Now, and before anyone even says it, yes I know that gives us zero options at leadoff, I'm just saying thats my best OF.
