Beastley, I think ya get too bent outta shape about the whole Mod thing. You have improved drastically as a poster since ther early wsc425 days, and I'm sure that most people would agree with that sentiment. Just keep doin your thing, it gets noticed.

Even Buehrle at 3-4 milion is gonna be a little over half of what Ponson is gonna cost to sign. It will take 6-7 mill per season to get him to sign, and thats more than you r#1 and #2 combined. I do agree with what you say about Loz, though.

5th Starter:
I still think it will be given to, GASP, Scott Schoeneweis. They are keeping him around for that reason, and maybe Coop can get him in a good enough position to be at the very least, average in that #5 slot.

And again, I don't mind bringing Ponson in, but I cant see a #3 making twice as much as either the #1 or 2, seems a bit bass ackwards to me.

I'm not real sold on Ponson, nor on giving 6-7 mill to a guy to be our #3 starter. What will Buehrle and Loz think about being outpaid by a new guy unproven to this team? Hopefully, that wouldnt matter to them, but something still bothers me about Ponson

Don't have the source article, just heard Sportscenter say so. Petitte is not gonna agree to a contract with the Yanks, and will be a FA. I think it's pretty obvious that Andy is goin to the Astros, with the money they just cleared from Wagner. The domino effect could definately be Colon to NYY now. So we better get ready to put the full court press on Sidney Ponson.

Wonder what Thomas thinks now...
While I do think that at his hiring Press Conference, it was NOT the time for Ozzie to start the rips on Frank, I do think what Guillen says is true. It most likely should have been handled internally, but you've got a 1st time manager coming to his old town, and he wanted to make a splash. He knew what the knocks were on the previous regime, and wanted to make it clear that his thought process was NOT the same as JMs

How to get more dates than you could ever want...
Ah, yes....Jimmy Aguirre...I hate that guy....he weighs like 300 lbs, and he is with that fine skinny girl....how is that?? Sorry, turns out I don't know who the hell he is, but I can be sarcastic with the best of them.

Wednesday news wrapup
Agreed mooch. He is the reason I got serious about following the Sox. But as of now, I am REALLY growing tired of his shenanigans. Plus, I get credit for using the word shenanigans in a sentence

Also, FSJ, 2002 was Colons ONLY 20 win season. 13 million a year for a guy that has had 1 20 win season is ALOT. I know, he puts the innings in that an ace needs to, and he gets the CGs, but way too inconsistent to make that much four our team.

Sox Shopping for bargains
This is the hugest load of BS. What Steff, that Guillen balked at the idea, or that he was ever offered the Bench coach job?

Wonder what Thomas thinks now...
Thats not true...JM could jump over the chalk line and clap 3 times on the way to the mound better than anyone in MLB

Rick Morrissey's Article
Sox-r-us, I changed the title of the post due to Morrissey being the one that wrote it.

Wonder what Thomas thinks now...
Just ran across this article in the Daily Southtown. Pretty decent read. Wonder if Frank will backtrack from what he said, or is it a way we may actually be without Frank in 2004... Heres the complete article

Sox Shopping for bargains
Some interesting points there. I dunno why Valentins agent is thinking there are 6 or so clubs that need a 230 hitting stone hands SS. I like the quote: Well hell, I'm sure you would like them to. But its still too much for Jose. Also, Graffy wants to test Free Agency. He may just get an offer to come play somewhere, so we may have to deal with a Graffy-less Sox team in 2004. Its a good thing that they are looking to bring back Sully, cuz I think he could be a cornerstone in our Bullpen if they keep him. Gordon, OTOH, can go get an offer of $5 mill with some other team, thats money we DON"T need to spend.

"Willie Mays Hayes, huh...well you may run like Mays, but you hit like s***." How fitting is that old Major League saying.
