  1. Ditto Brando...when M&M came out, I absolutely hated all the garble he was spitting. His self-portrayed image didn't win me over either. Here in the past 6 months or so, though, I've been kinda turning the corner, because lyrically alot of the stuff he does os written quite well. Not like the endless dribble people like Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Nelly, (Insert Flavor of the Month Rapper here) are making. :puke

Now, now gentlemen.....is there a Full Moon out tonight or what?
  3. OK, Jas, to answer a few of your questions, seeing as I'm in the Deep South-Home of Wrasslin'. Scott Hall was always my favorite also, along with Chris Jericho from WCW days. Hall had/has a real life drinking problem, and his wife really scorned the WCW folks for using that in an angle on TV. He was given another shot by teh WWE when Nash also returned(after WCW was bought out). Apparently he was ok for a few weeks, but then the old Scott Hall came out, and WWE terminated him. Sad to see, because he had great presence on TV. Oh Lord, you remember that retarded dance Alex Wright used to do when he came out to fight. Thats lodged in my brain unfortunately. Another in the long line of Angles that the McMahons creative team came up with that was totally unnecessary. Both retired. Once WCW was bought out by the McMahons, Hart pretty much knew he was finished as a wrestler. Due to the long standing feud between him and Vince, along with the fact that his brother Owen died doing a stunt he didn't want to do, but Vince pushed him into, it was a given that Bret was done. He went on to help create TWA/NWA, its on DirecTV all the time. Sting, AKA Steve Borden I believe, kinda just slid away after the whole nWo thing got old.. Agreed. Mick Foley was teh consumate performer, not blessed with a great athletic body or Cruiser-like speed, he just was an entertainer, plain and simple. One of my favorite wrestling moments was watching the WCW build Goldbergs run up to over 100 wins without a loss. Heels make wrestling so much more entertaining. A few of my all-time favorites over the years. #1-Chris Jericho in the WCW....the guy was great. He used to always call Gene Okerlund 'Gene Mean', and mess everyones names up. #2-The Rock early on right after becoming a big name. His microphone skills are unmatched by any other Wrestler out there. #3-Norman Smiley-WCW, hehe, I used to love that guy watch....he was such a Turd-burglar. Funny stuff.
  4. That could be...however I know that one of, if not the bitterest rivalries in the South is USC-Clemson. The 101st meeting of the 2 will happen this Saturday. This week is when you don't talk to your normal Clemson pals until Sunday. Its serious business down here. Alabama-Auburn the same way, although being a SC resident, I still vote for my Palmetto State Battle.
  5. Right now, I don't see OSU being able to slow down Okla.....This isn't even the same Oklahoma offensive makeup that it was a few years ago. This Sooner team will beat you deep, on Jason White's arm. That wasn't the case a couple years ago, when Quentin Griffin would get a ton of carries, and the OU D wouls do the rest. Some people seem to be selling this Sooner team a bit short.

yeah, YASNY, I think Jas got his words mixed up there. We are in agreement that CLee shoud be the keeper of those players if all others were moved. Koch, well, I supported the guy all year and got flamed for it, but I still think that he will be back this year, and I will be there to say thank GOD we didn't trade him for Roger Freakin Cedeno.
  7. Well, since I still vividly remember it, and laughing out loud each time I saw it, I HAD to vote for SuperPimp KW.
  8. josh, you never saw teh movie "Wargames" with a young Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy? Go check it out, and all those games HLee mentioned will make sense. As for my internet connetcion, I use a Cable Modem when online at home, and our blazing T3 at work. Oh, technology is so nice.

  11. Capn12 replied to Be Good's topic in SLaM
not the language part...the driving 80+ MPH....I'd love to do that here, but its impossible here......gettin to 45 MPH is a signifigant triumph.

  18. Pippen was never more than a Role player in the perfect system for him. For some reason, people started to believe that he was a great ball player. Funny, I'm still waiting to see that from him

--One weird thing I do is check my pockets upon leaving teh house for my car keys. I check like 3 or 4 times. Borderline OCD. --Also, I NEVER let my car get below 1/4 tank of gas, I have a LARGE fear of running out of gas. --I tend to Curse ALOT at other drivers here in SC, cuz NO ONE here can drive worth a damn. Heather made me feel a bit more at home in Chi-town --I also obviously have a VERY hard time typing the word "THE"....as it often comes out as "TEH" for me. Hey, I never took typing classes.

Er, sorry YASNY, by moving him, I meant we shouldnt move him to another team, not to another position. Sorry, guess my word choice was a bit vague.
  23. Capn12 replied to aboz56's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As long as it doesnt entail a trade of CLee somewhere, I have no beefs with that. I just don't see how you can move a 27-28 year old OFer who is just coming into his own.
  24. Sounds good in theory, but don't see it happening. As was pointed out to me in the past, baseball contracts are guaranteed. The one thing that creates alot of parity in the NFL, where a pretty Hard Salary Cap exists, is that veterans can be cut, like Lawyer Malloy, without signifigant Cap damage. Baseball will still have guys that, if you had a salary cap, would be even HARDER to trade away. Lets say you sign your Fan-Favorite right fielder to a 3 yr, 30 million deal. Well, if said player has a bad season, a la Konerko or Koch, NO CHANCE IN HELL that you can move him in the Off-Season, like the Sox are currently discussion. With the talks of a Salary Cap will come screams from the MLBPA about Collusion, and in all honesty they will have a point. The owners will have a severe upperhand in negotiations at that point, because all will fear getting burned on that one big contract they give out, and players salaries will be controlled by the MLB owners. Should the salaries be held in check by the owners? Of course, but thats another argument. Its hard to win any kind of injunction against the strongest union in the US. If all else fails, just blame Curt Flood for all this mess!!
  25. Capn12 replied to aboz56's topic in Pale Hose Talk
With that move, YASNY, where does AaRow fit in? If he ever deserves his shot, its this year. He has been biding his time, and IMO deserves a shot. Maggs being traded could still give him a shot if the Angels did that trade.
