Sale back to the rotation per KW, MRI comes back clean
QUOTE (Reddy @ May 11, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) they honest to god don't know WHAT they're doing. there's no secret plan. they're all flying by the seat of their pants and it's idiotic. Both Feliz in Texas and Bard in Boston have started and relieved this year. Add Texas and Boston to the stupid organizations list. The only thing idiotic is you thinking you have this all figured out without any of the information. The White Sox want Chris Sale to pitch for them, not rehab, and don't go thinking if he blows out his elbow he'll be fine in a year. Its possible, its also possible he turns out like Liriano, who is now back in the pen for Minnesota because of ineffectiveness. PTAC, the guy on this site who probably knows more about this type of thing than anyone here, says the Sox are doing the correct thing. You may mention Sale's agent, but Sale's agent is going to side with Sale. If Sale wanted to relieve, he would be upset if the Sox kept him in the rotation.

Kevin Youkilis for Matt Thornton?
I don't despise Rogers as much as most. I like reading him. He blasts KW all the time and I don't mind it since I don't think much of KW's body of work the last several years, but this is exactly the type of move he's blasted KW for making the past few years. It makes zero sense. Youkilis is constantly on the DL, his production is slipping quickly and he makes a ton of money. Why would you trade Thornton and Floyd with Youk being the big piece back? If you really wanted Youkilis, I bet you Boston would give him away if you took all the money and would give him up for just about anyone saving them cash.

Kevin Youkilis for Matt Thornton?
Since last year's all star break, he's hitting something like .205 with a .645 OPS. If you hate Gordon Beckham, Kevin Youkilis may cause you an annuerism.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) I know what the Bulls didn't have. If they lose to the Heat? Fine. Nobody is going to say a thing. If they lose to even Boston or Indiana, nobody is going to make a big deal about it. But they should still have been able to beat this lousy Sixers team. When the Celtics lost KG and Leon Powe (Powe, at least then, was a lot like their Taj), they still beat the Bulls and took a really good Orlando team to game 7 in the semifinals. I'm not letting the Bulls off the hook just because of injuries. Not against this Sixer team. When Rose and Noah are out and Boozer is 1-11, you're going to have problem scoring points. 80 points wins tonight. They couldn't do it.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) I still don't buy Taj being better than Boozer. MAYBE if money is factored in. There are teams that would really involve him better and wouldn't bench him for entire games when he starts slow. I am not saying that we should change, but he's not a bad player. Unfortunately our offense never moves the ball and that's bad for post scorers. I'm kind of torn, maybe more NBA scouts would say Boozer is better than Gibson, but I think even if Boozer is the better player, the Bulls play better when Gibson is in the game.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) I somewhat agree with Badger. Look, this is NOT a good Sixer team. Very mediocre and offensively-challenged. They went 15-22 in their last 37 games. If the only difference between the Sixers and Bulls is no Rose and Noah missing a few games, then they're probably not that good anyway. At least not as good as their regular season record indicates. This team needs another playmaker/scorer and they need to get more athletic. Rose and Noah are 2 of the Bulls best 3 players, the other one is playing with one hand. Take 2 of the top 3 off any team and have the other one not nearly 100 percent and watch how much dumber their coach will get. The Bulls are championship calibur with their entire roster healthy. Not a lock like back in the day, but a real good shot.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Asik is like a 50% free throw shooter and had made 3/4, he should have statistically missed both free throws. He sucks at free throws, hoping that he makes 2 there is insane. The ball should have never touched his hands. That being said, the Bulls still shouldnt have lost. Not one person can explain why the Bulls had all their guys on the line trying to rebound the 2nd Asik ft. We all knew it would have been a miracle if he made the free throws, I'm just saying he should be able to make them.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) No chance this summer Since you start the season without Rose and Deng and need scorers 3 points. I've always stood up for him, but he does come up small most of the time in the playoffs. He should have his contract rescinded with that shoe polish he put on his head. If it saves the Bulls from paying the luxury tax and adds another piece or maybe even 2, it could be an option.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Thats not an excuse for Thibs though. Asik was dead tired and a bad ft shooter, he should have been pulled from the game at 2 minutes left. He does this stuff all the time with players and how he handles them, Rose just makes up for it with brilliance. He was in for defense. The point guard made a poor decision to give him the ball at the end or the Bulls win. Or if he makes the free throws, which he should be able to do, the Bulls win. I don't see how this game or series is on Thibs.

It would be a ton of money to eat, but does anyone think Boozer gets amnestied?

QUOTE (Jake @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) I feel let down by the coaching. How can the same mistake be made over and over and over? Do it junior high style and tell them they have to make x amount of passes before shooting if you have to. But CJ is probably at the top of my to blame list...I just wish the coaching didn't allow a backup player to cost us SO much. Rose and Noah are out. Back ups are on the floor the entire game.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) This series was close with the Bulls two best players out, and you don't think that is why they lost? Replace Rose with Watson for even five minutes of each of these games, and this series is completely different. I think if they had Noah healthy the entire series, the Bulls would have won in 5. With both, its a sweep.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) Even if CJ missed both fts, the Bulls would have been in a drastically better defensive position as Asik would have been on the block so Deng doesnt end up under the basket with Taj, unable to guard on the play. If you watch Hawes, he basically blocks out to keep them from being able to run down the court. Anger rising. CSN said CJ had the best FT percentage of the Bulls on the floor. Kendall said he was scared. And not only that, if he dribbled away from the basket, a couple more seconds might have come off the clock.

Kendall letting CJ Watson have it. Says the Bulls need a new back up point guard. Said he was afraid of going to the line at the end of the game.- 2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) The foul not being called on Watson was a good thing, it should have let him dribble another 4-5 seconds before they could foul him. He just did the dumbest thing, gave the ball to Asik in a situation where the other team wants to foul. f*** you Watson, f*** you. That's just it. Anyone's fouled its 2 shots. You know Asik is going to get raped there and will go to the line. It was a poor decision. Another poor decision was Asik throwing the ball in with 2.2 seconds left and not throwing it down court the only way they had a chance.- 2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ May 10, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) Did anyone else go from thinking there was no way we were gonna lose the game to immediately thinking theres no way we were gonna win the game the second Watson made that pass to Asik? When Asik went to the line, I was hoping for 1 out of 2 and overtime. He made 4 FT tonight. He was due to be way off. I don't understand how someone can play basketball everyday and can't make more than half their free throws.- 2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 10, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) f***ing Spencer Hawes. That foul on Asik should have been a flagrant. He got him right around the neck. They aren't going to call that in that situation, but why Asik?- 2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
I don't know how you let a guy go the length of the floor in 4.8 seconds in that situation. If they didn't call a foul, it was an easy tip in anyway.- 2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
If the Bulls can score 80 points this game in regulation, they win.- Get a new deal done with Peavy now!
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ May 10, 2012 -> 02:10 PM) By season's end, Alexei has the same type of year offensively every year, and always has the bad or ho-hum April. There aren't any surprises there. There aren't ,but he should try to mix some things up maybe next offseason, considering these games do count and it would be better for the team if he actually could be at least mediocre offensively the first month.- Get a new deal done with Peavy now!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) Teams don't do business with their divisional rivals very often. The last thing you want to see is that guy you traded away haunting you for 18 games a year. I don't think it is as big of a deal to Kenny, as he deals with the Royals fairly often, but probably more on the Detroit and Minnesota end of things. If KC and the Sox were both contenders, I'd imagine the dealing between the 2 teams wouldn't happen as much.- Get a new deal done with Peavy now!
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 10, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) Whoa, you cant make predictions about getting swept in the playoffs, thats just moronic. Making it is all that counts these days as its been proven that its anyone's game. If the Sox made the playoffs and Peavy was still pitching like he's pitching, they have a real good chance.- Get a new deal done with Peavy now!
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 10, 2012 -> 11:54 AM) A shot at what? Miraculously sneaking into the playoffs and getting swept in the first round? This is the year we can finally start to rebuild our awful minor league system by trading away the likes of Peavy, Thornton, Konerko and whoever else has value. The days of getting back top prospects for very highly paid veterans is OVA. Salary relief at most is all you can expect . Any young player worth a crap is a bonus. - 2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
