As a fan of any team, that is easier said than done. Especially when you are talking record deals.

Rumors are fun when they don't go on and on for months. NFL, NBA, NHL free agent rumors. MLB, NHL, NBA trade deadline rumors, all a good time even if they are BS. The problem is there is more BS in one of these signings than there is for the other leagues as a whole, and most of what you hear in the NBA is BS.

Maybe that is why they are having these conferences. So the players can reiterate they really aren't what we all know they are.

But, why have a phone conference.?You know what the questions are going to be, and Jay isn't going to be talking about himself.

Wouldn't you think most everyone, including Jay, knows why the Sox signed him? I understand not wanting him to be introduced as part of the plan to produce Machado, but does he have to say he's been after him for years? He's been readily available, and not exactly expensive.

I wonder why he only gave him 1 year. It's too bad Hahn feels he has to say these things.

That's a personal attack. One that hopefully won't be ignored.

I will be OK with Harper if the Sox get Machado, and I will be OK with Machado if the Sox get Harper. But if they get neither, those guys will be a couple of my least favorite.

I would imagine it's a call. It is Jon Jay.

This process will make me hate both players if the White Sox get shutout. If they get one fine, but if zero, they wasted too much of my time.

Losing them for nothing might just be a positive. Not much to see there.

There isn't one name on that list that you couldn't unequivocally say the White Sox are probably better off not paying them.

No big deal. Charlie Tilson is a back up/ pinch runner for a bad team.

The players don't want a floor, because with a floor comes a ceiling.

Maybe they are trying to trade a couple of their dregs for something, or even someone halfway useful for a non 40 man guy. But they still have 6 or 7 on the 40 man I wouldn’t bat an eye if they DFA’d. And still wouldn’t care if they lost for nothing.

They have to make a roster move. Probably the reason for the delay.

The one hope is Andy McFail will try to keep his owner responsible.
