Ken Rosenthal HOF ballot. Proof positive he has a problem with the White Sox. Notice all the guys who played on the South Side. Notice the lack of checks by their names. 0 for 8. JK

The White Sox have earned their reputation.
-
The White Sox biggest problem is obviously their irrelevance. It is something they have seemingly accepted the last decade. Even when they are “going for it” they do it like the Reds or Pirates would do it. Not like the teams that these guys really want to play for do it. Signing one of these guys will help them perhaps overcome this. But it’s a chicken/egg thing. I fully expect to hear Harper and/or Machado say some really nice things about the White Sox, just like Torii Hunter after he blew KW off., when they blow off the team. Some will thinkthat means the team turned a corner. To me, for that corner to be turned the target needs to be signed.

A deal on Cuban signs could be happening

This still has a few hurdles to clear. Including POTUS. -
Just smiled and shook Amster’s Hand.

Sounds like a guy who would know everything. I wonder why the future sox guy’s don’t ask Zack Collins what is going on with these 2. He should know

Now since Amsler threw Thome a bone at the end and predicted Thome would be in the room when Machado has a press conference announcing his signing with the White Sox is MLBN cool again?
-
Yes, Chicago. The only way these teams get a new stadium is if they build it themselves.
-
There was zero chance the Cubs would leave Wrigleyville. And taxpayer funded stadiums are going to be tough to get from here on out. They did redo Soldier Field, but that was already owned by the park district. The United Center was privately funded. Just some infrastructure around there was all that was public. JR got his sweetheart deal. He probably is the last.

No it's not. Eliminating a potential suitor doesn't do you other bids a service, especially since it's been reported, the Yankees aren't going there. And then how do you know you won't be even more bored with the Philadelphia meeting?
-
What are you talking about? We have gone from Manny needs to go to these meetings for his agent's sake, to if Manny was bored, he would just walk out. That isn't too consistent. He wouldn't just walk out unless he was insulted. I also doubt the meeting was as long as indicated. Supposedly they were going to show him around the city a bit. Maybe they had dinner. But it wasn't everyone sitting around a table in a conference room for 10 hours.
-
I'm guessing your not in the $300 million range. I literally walked out of an interview once when they interviewee, on my second interview changed the terms. I was supposed to meet with the owner of the company, but he said I wanted a bit more than they had budgeted, but he said maybe I could talk the owner into paying me. I told him I didn't appreciate him wasting my time and walked out. A couple of days later I got home from work and he had left a message on my answering machine saying they had re-evaluated the pay, and wanted me to give him my requirements again. I called back, got his voicemail and upped it by $50k. I wasn't going to work there. But it wasn't because I was bored because my ass was being kissed for 10 hours. BTW, Adam Jones who knows him a little better than you or me, said he is going to the team that pays him the most.
-
If you were his agent, you are telling me you would have had no problem with him checking out of a meeting with a potential suitor, of which there appears to be 3, because he was bored or some other BS? Whatever the real length of the meeting was, we will probably never know, but it doesn't appear he walked out.
-
A great White Sox offer helps get a better offer from the other teams. And walking away, acting like a spoiled baby does not get him more money. Only less. They can throw mystery teams around all they want, but they only have 3 visits. Playing his offers off against the rest won't hurt him. If he just has 2, and the Yankees are not budging, he has nothing to play with, and prima donnaing out of a meeting could cost him millions.
-
Maybe not what the White Sox are willing to pay. You would not walk away unless you are an imbecile. That kind of stuff gets around. Manny's other offers would more than likely only go lower.
-
And walk away from a potential record breaking offer? Manny Machado is on his best behavior right now.
-
I have seen no confirmation about the length of the Sox meeting.
-
I doubt it was a 10 hour meeting, and if it was, I'm sure he was aware of the length coming in. But you aren't going to walk out. This may be the team offering you $300 million. Would you actually leave?

Yes , and he probably needed to clear it up with the others as well. And that is probably done better face to face than over a phone.
-
Face to face is a bit more effective, both ways. And I am sure there are Yankees personnel that Manny wouldn't mind meeting.
