  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 06:55 PM) Rock won't put his money where his mouth and probably just continue with the lame jabs but I'd bet he's not someone who was born and raised in Sweden. Let me know Rock. Would you go as far as from a country on Trump's banned list?
  2. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) Did you not see that Davidson bomb yesterday? He is going nowhere. I once saw Joe Borchard hit one on the concourse. He didn't last very long.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 06:31 PM) Worked on his swing Maybe Asche worked on his. It really is no big deal. They each will have an opportunity to show they deserve more time. Chances are the team rids itself of both by the end of the season.
  4. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 05:43 PM) Asche has ~1200 more plate appearances than Davidson at the major league level and has proven to be Avi Garcia level bad. There is no reason to give him at bats. And Davidson was amazingly bad in AAA.
  5. I did read a Keith Law chat a while back where he said Collins' bat is better than advertised.
  6. Q won't bring back this guy Q won't bring back that guy. When you say that you are proving the theory if the Sox keep drafting and trading for pitchers they can easily be flipped for similarly ranked hitters as false. Whatever team wants Q needs to haverify some hitters as headliners
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 03:27 PM) If you can land Robert, you do it. Definitely take advantage of the Cuban connection if possible. There should zero confidence in our ability to land Otani. Yes, all things being equal, Otani is a pipe dream. At least with Robert, you have the Cuban history, and can at least sell a team that could be good when he is ready. Otani would be going into a rebuild on a team where even the people in their city are pretty indifferent. If they don't land Robert, obviously give it a try, but the odds are next to zero.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 01:15 PM) When he is pitching you want him focusing on pitching. If he fancies himself a 2 way player, the NL is far more attractive, but money will talk. It will probably be mostly endorsement potential.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 01:05 PM) Is there any bulk pricing Maybe Trump will make some great deals and get these prices down. Or maybe Syria will pay for them.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 12:59 PM) He didn't mean to have him pitch and hit in the same game I believe. Edit: double-checking the post above, it isn't what he meant. Kind of weird he would be good enough to be a DH when he wasn't pitching, but have a DH hit for him if he was. I think he would rather go to the NL myself if he plans on playing both.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 12:55 PM) Yeah that seems like that would make sense. Don't know. I don't think a team would want to give up their DH to have him pitch and hit in the AL. He makes it 4 or 5 innings, you have a problem. I think he ends up in NY, LA, or Seattle.
  12. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 12:44 PM) Don't see the Sox getting involved in spending what it would take to get Ohtani Robert seems to be their primary target If he is coming next year, the most it could cost is their entire bonus pool.
  13. Maybe Hillary is secretly in Trump's inner circle. Here are some comments she made yesterday afternoon: "Assad had an air force and that air force is the cause of most of the civilian deaths as we’ve seen over the years and as we saw again in the last few days," said Clinton. "I really believe we should have and still should take out his airfields and prevent him from being able to use them to bomb innocent people and drop sarin gas on them." Shocking today to see how many republicans agree with Hillary.
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) Now Gorsuch got through. Oh the humanity. Merrick Garland didn't even get a hearing. Many of your friends on the right were saying if Hillary was elected, they would not let a nominee go through, that the court would have been fine a judge short. Did you agree with this? If so, explain why your opinion is the only legitimate opinion.
  15. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 10:13 AM) He was mocked because he implied a terrorist attack happened the previous night in Sweden. This was right around the same time that Conway made up the Bowling Green Massacre and Spicer made up an attack in Atlanta. Trump ran as a republican. Therefore, rabbit isn't interested in the facts. BTW, the great Trump killed 4 kids in his airstrike last night. Trump is always right because if he wasn't right at first, he flips and acts like the things he said before never happened.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 08:48 AM) And he still doesn't want those people and children in our country. He is full of s*** with the ban and I have never said differently. I'm not supporting anything in this tweets. I'm just questioning the relevance of every single tweet of his lifetime back when he didn't even have anybody to answer to. So Donald Trump should not be accountable for anything he has said or written up until now. This was a guy who could not help himself, and cannot help himself just keeping his mouth shut. He campaigned on most of the BS he has tweeted over the years. Going back on close to all of it should be something that is scrutinized. To me, it's a hell of a lot more egregious than hiring an undocumented nanny which has cost many political careers. And if Hillary Clinton were president and had the same type of twitter history, I doubt that would be ignored by those that think Trump's previous behavior should be ignored
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 08:34 AM) ISIS just killed 140 civilians in Mosul. Good thing Trump defeated them. He has a plan to defeat ISIS. He knows more than any General. Believe me. Maybe he is counting how many civilians US strikes have killed recentlyl. Over 140 so Trump wins. We are going to be sick of winning eventually, but let's ride it now. BTW, here is an article showing many of Trump's tweets where he is ultimately trolling himself. It would be hysterical if it wasn't so sad. http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/07/politics/don...eets/index.html
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 08:25 AM) A week ago there weren't fresh, new images on every media channel in the world of chemical attack victims. It's not an enviable position by any means, I don't know if it was the right move or not. But quoting tweets from 3+ years ago about Syria is the same as everyone yelling at greg about e-mails. I am taking something from a week ago. Stay out, keep your people out of our country even if they are in grave danger, Assad may be a bad guy, but not our problem. Why was it different when Obama was considering doing the same thing? Why was he a "foolish" leader? Chemical attack was a concern then. Don't you think action before a chemical attack might have helped out more innocent people than waiting for them to die by the thousands.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 08:19 AM) Or a year or a few months ago. And tweets have always been public. Usually presidents don't do 180s on literally everything. I'm sure little kids do. Everyone who defends Trump at almost every turn, even those like rabbit who claim they don't like him, would not be defending Hillary if the exact same thing happened. The reason is the ® after his name. That seems more important than what his words and actions actually are. The thing is he isn't really a republican, and he isn't really a democrat, and he isn't really anything, just whatever gets him ahead at that moment. There are tons of people who aren't bright enough to realize they are being played by a con man. The sad part is the amount who can and do realize it but look the other way because of the ® after his name.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 08:14 AM) Trump is obviously the 1st person in the history of the world to change their opinion over the course of 3+ years during an escalating military situation. Are TWEETS! the new E-MAILS! Well, he changed in a week. A week ago they weren't going to hold Assad accountable for the atrocities he has done to his citizens, and Obama a week ago was still a fool to even consider doing what Trump is now doing.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 05:06 PM) Well, holy s***. If Renteria keeps this up, I will be his biggest fan. We NEVER (OK rarely) won blowouts in the Robin era. Nice to see a blowout so early in Renteria's era on the south side. Obviously all teams will win at least 55 games, so no big deal today, but again, a blowout?? In the Cell? Beautiful. I am thoroughly negative most of the time, but I will give credit where it's due. The team showed life today which it rarely to never did under Robin. p.s. That squeeze bunt was a good idea but it was a lousy bunt. Shoulda been out at home. I do like Stoney's take, however, that if you put pressure on the other team's defense more often than not they'll mess up. It worked so I'm happy but it was a lousy bunt. When they were 23-10 last year, they had several blowout wins.
  22. Maybe the Cubs will DFA Bryant. He's 0-12 with 6 ks and no walks. Davidson has a triple and a walk. Theo may be interested.
  23. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 02:27 PM) Every single time I unignore your posts I remember why I don't. LMAO. Sense is obviously something you do not value.
  24. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) Doesn't mean the scouting report has changed. Apparently they are having a hard time executing "the book". He does chase pitches from time to time. But overall, besides the first couple of months last season, he hasn't been an easy out., so whatever the formula is, either it's very difficult to execute very often, or it is wrong.
  25. I don't know if he's as biased anymore. When KW was in charge, there was no question. I do think he has some sort of grudge and there is at least a chance a guy like Tatis was thrown into his top prospects as a dig. As to Robert, he isn't a White Sox yet, so I don't see a connection. If he signs somewhere else and Law's position shifts, then you have a case.
