  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 11:33 AM) Susan Rice was one of Obama's most trusted officials. No one is saying Rice was working on her own or had some personal motive. There's just further proof, after the Flynn leak, that Obama's administration was using the intelligence apparatus to sabotage Trump's presidency before he even took office. Wow.
  2. Trump has been living the "just act like you know what you are doing and you can get away with anything" angle his entire life. That doesn't work in his current position.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 08:24 AM) also, Days before chemical attack in Syria, officials signaled the U.S. would no longer demand that Assad leave power Yes. On the Sunday morning show on ABC, the UN Ambassador was dancing around the Assad shift. When are people going to realize Trump is a phony that will not only hurt democrats? Eventually, he will even hurt the filthy rich if he is kept enabled.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:43 PM) Welcome to what everyone is wishing for. For those who wanted it, they better keep watching and supporting the team. I wonder how many of the posters who were going to go to extra games because they weren't trying to win will actually do what they say. I don't think the Cody Asche era will be enticing.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 03:25 PM) Nice cutter by Jake. That came back to catch the corner. I couldn't believe how huge Petricka is in person. I literally ran into him at Soxfest. He is gigantic.
  6. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) Beer's bat looks great, but I don't like hearing scouts questioning his ability to stick in the outfield If he is a 1B/DH player only his value will take a bit time hit, even with a great bat. Doubtful he goes #1 or even #2 overall If he is Frank Thomas, he's well worth #1 or #2. If his bat is as good as the hype, he is obviously going to be desired. But Frank went 7th, so sometimes people out dumb themselves. At Soxfest, Frank was talking about the draft. He said the Braves were talking about taking him but decided to take Tyler Houston instead. And that is a front office that didn't make too many mistakes. If the position is the only thing from keeping him a 1-1 guy, and it may be, I hope the Sox pounce on him wherever they wind up selecting.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 10:02 AM) I should've included that I just bought the tickets this morning and they say the game is on Tuesday. I assume that it should still be ok. I'm sure you're good for today and a bonus game.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 09:48 AM) If you buy tickets to today's game via stubhub, do you qualify to receive a ticket later on? It would almost be like I bought a ticket for yesterday's game through stubhub. yes.
  9. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:13 AM) The only thing I am not sure I buy is that it was a money grab. If it was would they be willing to exchange all tickets for future dates in probably the only sell out of the season? Also they are giving free parking today. Arent those usually like $20 bucks a pop? Yeah I am sure they made some money yesterday but not enough to be willing to risk a bad PR move. It seems like they got caught in between, like usual, and were unsure of how to approach this until it was too late after not making a decision. The free parking is BS. It's a make up of yesterday's game. It's a fake PR move. It's been a rain delay move of theirs for close to 20 years. They aren't going to have that many people in the ballpark too many times this year. They won't screw around as much as they did on Monday for Wednesday's and Thursday's games. I have been a victim of this so many times before, that rain delays make me go home. It's one area I do not have any faith in the White Sox. I can't tell you how many times I have sat at the park in a rain delay waiting for well over an hour and one or 2 cases over 2 hours not for it to stop raining, but for it to start raining, and each time it was a big gate. Small gates, it gets rained out quickly. I am sure they knew they weren't going to play when they trotted the teams out for that ridiculous ceremony with the cars. And they probably knew far sooner than that. They played game 2 of the 2005 WS in far worse conditions.
  10. For a rebuilding team, the Sox have very few young players. Anderson is obviously the big one, but Narvaez and May are probably long shots to ever be part of the future core. Saladino is hardly a youngster and the pitching staff other than Covey, who seems like an organizational arm at best, are veterans.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 07:58 AM) It really could have been handled better, that is what it all comes down to. It's one thing to look at the radar and think there is a chance to get it in, but pretty much every weather prediction had zero chance of getting this game in and they still let everyone come to the park, come inside, spend money, then postponed the game. It was extremely bad optics that kicked off what is most likely to be a bad season. Exactly. If they weren't willing to play under yesterday's conditions, there was absolutely nothing in any forecast or model that would suggest they get the game in. If anything, the rain wasn't as bad as predicted. People have a right to feel snookered because they were.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 05:11 PM) Thanks white sox for downgrading my premium game seats to a non premium game seat. Technically your ticket is still good tomorrow and another free game, but I would imagine most of the people who took off work today won't be taking off tomorrow.
  13. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 04:57 PM) So the biggest fans who took a day off work are who they're gonna piss off? Good luck getting fans in. I would imagine many of the people there today have been through this before. From my experience, as I have probably been to over 1000 White Sox games, and stay for the whole game even if it is 15-1 in the 3rd inning, rain delays are one thing Where I just leave unless they give some sort of time frame. No time frame means they are just trying to sell some concessions, ponchos, and sweatshirts.
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 04:54 PM) sox brass in midseason form! Way to f*** over the fans. They have been making this move for years. But only when it is going to be a big crowd. If they were expecting 11k, this game would have been called by noon.
  15. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 04:25 PM) This game could be official by now. Real bad organizational decision at this point stunningly bad actually. REO Speedwagon sang the national anthem ....that's the state of this piss poor organization right now. Wasted $110 a seat for this. They will call it about the time they would have been done with the 7th inniing when beer sales end.
  16. QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 04:23 PM) Yeah because I can predict the future when buying tickets in early march. The white sox however knew they were not willing to play in this weather and still didn't call it this morning. And now they're dicking me around when I still showed up and tailgated even with this forecast. First pitch should've been 70 minutes ago. A light drizzle is the most weve seen since then. So no this isn't on me. It's on this worthless organization, and if I don't get a full refund for today plus a voucher for a free game I won't be spending my money here anymore, and I attend 15+ games a year. It isn't anything new. This is one of the largest crowds they will have all year. They wanted to sell so,e concessions and parking. If they called it at 5 AM, they wouldn't have gotten nearly the crowd they have today, tomorrow.
  17. I hate rain delays. I was at USCF a few years ago vs. the Yankees they didn't start the game because rain was supposed to be in the area. For the next 2.5 we waited for it to rain. Finally it did and then they cancelled it. Sold a lot of beer. Bu for 2.5 hours there was a rain delay featuring no rain.
  18. ESPN just said that MLB is calculating velocity differently this season, and to expect an uptick in velocity readings because of this.
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 12:38 PM) This. BPA always. Can trade pitching for bats later. Then how come all these position player prospects are off the table for Q?
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 03:46 PM) He has a .488 OBP and his OPS is 1.070. Which isn't top 100 in the NCAA.
  21. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 06:33 PM) I don't think we're gonna suck enough for beer I don't think when it is all said and done, Beer is a 1-1 guy. Still top of the draft, but corner OF/1B defensively mediocre guys haven't been going that high in recent years.
  22. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) The mandate is what he's referring to. The penalty for not being insured wouldn't even cover one emergency room visit. Theoretically not being insured and still getting sick or hit by a bus raised costs for all, so it's really not that different from mandatory car insurance, which no one ever says boo about.
