Vaughn reads the ball off the bat really well. He makes that catch. Eloy is more athletic but Vaughn more instinctual.

Of course not but it should. What does he bring to that spot? Below average baseball IQ and low OBP.

Sox need to think about getting Anderson out of the leadoff spot. That AB was atrocious. Sad ass start which has been the case for a while.

Would be really nice for Abreu and Anderson to show up again.

Trea Turner
Nats will hold him until offseason when the SS FA market opens potential other options like the Dodgers join the bidding.

I'm quickly losing interest in this game. Offense should be able to handle Minor but not the case.

It's a buyers market as for the most part the playoffs are set. There is no hurry to make a move before July 31st as any acquired guy is not moving the needle enough over the last four weeks....except for Tampa but they exist in a vacuum as they have no fanbase to antagonize.

Yermin retiring? Nope. Wait, maybe yes? Wait, he's active in Charlotte again.

Who might be going to the minors when our injured Stars return?
The RF hole is covered with Goodwin, Hamilton and Engle...Robert and Jimenez fill that outfield need and Hahn survived that loss to this point. The moves will be in the bullpen and C. My guess it is for guys on the 40 man. Sheets and Vaughn's outfield ability makes a few 40 man outfielders expendable. The White Sox front office gets input from the team when looking at deadline moves and if they have done so this year I think Leury is the 2B for the duration of the season. I think they address catcher and relief pitching over the coming days.

Don't most minor league players get a bonus for signing? Minor league baseball sucks but it is a choice they make to have a shot at greatness. Is it any different than a struggling artist waiting tables?

I don't want this to go down the LaRussa rabbit hole but this situation is similar to what is happening with the cubs and Ross benching Baez. Tony went about it very poorly but the lasting affect is the same in both places. The Rizzo base running yesterday is apples and oranges compared to Baez and Yermin but for some reason in the media it is becoming comparable. In the same vein why is Anderson swinging at ball four (by a mile btw) in a major part of the game and Burger "just missing one" on 3-0 not an issue with Tony. Again apples and oranges but they appear to now be how little people can grasp concepts in simple life. Yermin has issues and most likely why his opportunity was so delayed and forced by Jimenez getting hurt but LaRussa did not derail this. The new catcher brought in most likely did as his DH role for the forseeable future and any catching role are now gone. Sad case as Yermin was a cult figure role that Hamilton has taken on nicely.
