  1. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:58 AM) 6 straight games without a blown save. That's positive right? First loss was a blown save so you can say that was the starting point. The Sox held a lead in every game until that point and have since lead for a whole half iniing of play the last five games. The triple play may not have killed the momentum of this team but the 6 runs in two innings to a terrible offense seems to have killed any confidience this team has.
  2. Suck it up pansy The insurance covers time spent on the DL. Peavy gets 100% of his pay. The Sox pay 30%, insurance 70%. This is a padres business expense and part of the reason cash did not trade hands. the red is a guess on my part
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) That team exists with Bigfoot and the Tooth Fairy, or a couple of hunderd million dollars. Seriously White Sox fans are starting to sound like Red Sox fans with their "demands". My only demand is they went all in and I am seeing the same thing I saw last year. Poor fundamentals, an unhealthy appreciation for the sacrifice bunt and wildly inconsistent play from inning to inning and game to game in all factes of the game. This team could win their next 10 with 10 complete games and average .300 or they could lose the next 10 with no quality starts and hit .100
  4. Have the White Sox reported anything on this?
  5. Hey Cleveland and KC are playing so we won't lose ground against one of them. The Orioles should be just about ready to turn it around when they come to town later in the month.
  6. There is a confidence builder. Maybe in November something will change with this organization.
  7. Beckham and Rios are killing this team right now.
  8. It really is amazing how regardless of the moves this team makes the team never changes. Prolonged slumps and then incredible hot streaks and a pitching staff and bullpen that is wildly inconsistent. Kind of like the Hawks this past season where you sit around and wait for something to happen and it never does.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) 23,500 attendance today...that's really bad for a Sunday day game with decent weather. This road trip is huge for so many reasons. Decent weather? In the shade it was freezing and at 10:00 this morning(when you decide to go to a game) it was 39 with 25 MPH winds.
  10. Any trade the White Sox make must get pitching back or it is not worth it.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) See, even though I think Ozzie's a bad game manager, I'm not going to jump on him here because Teahen is terrible at baseball. He is here for that situation and he is fine for that.
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Forgive my ignorance, but what were the options off the bench there? Teahen If he is not hitting there release him for another bullpen arm.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) I wanted Teahen to pinch hit but nooo God forbid Oz ever PH for Pierre . Hell as shallow as they play him not sure even with 2 outs if the tying run scores from 2nd on a hit. Exactly but at least Crain got his work in
  14. tying run on second and the RBI machines that are Omar and Juan are left to win the game wow. at least the sac bunt worked.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) Well, that was pathetic by Alexei. I doubt Omar can catch up to the fastball. Probably rather see Teahen here. No real need for Teahen to be on this team if he is not hitting here.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) Huh? Never said it was bad to get him an inning today. To make him unavailable tomorrow for a game you are losing is a bad decision.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) If you're talking about the Felix thread, I was being sarcastic. However, he's notorious for being a bad situational hitter. Why is Jesse Crain being used as the mop up on this team? Guillen seems like he was unprepared and thus so was his team for the season again.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) Well, Dunn's honeymoon lasted 3 weeks. Fans booing him after another strikeout. 14 K's in 33 at-bats you pegged it other day when you pointed out it seems he can hit when the situation dictates nothing he can do can do any real damage.
  19. This offense will only go as far as two of Beckham, Rios and Quentin will take them and right now none of three are doing anything. Beckham now under .250
  20. I really wonder if Kane is a scapegoat in all of this and moved for salary reasons.
  21. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) The Twins blow this season. Time for Sox fans to quit sucking at the Twins teet. The reason the Twins win the division is because they kick the s*** out of the White Sox, it is that simple. Will it happen this year? Who knows, they do not play until the second half of the season.
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 11:00 PM) Konerko, Pierre throw Dunn in there too. Worst thing that happened to the Sox was giving KW an open checkbook. Hudson for sure, and more than likely Gonzalez would still be here. Danks Floyd Gonzalez Hudson Buehrle Thornton and Richard in the bullpen, Sale starting in B'Ham. You can't drop the bad and keep the good. A DFA'd McCarthy no way he sticks after last year Danks and Floyd are not here. The rotation would be Buerhle Gonzalez Hudson Richard ??????? Not sure we are all too excited about that.
  23. This team is epically baseball stupid from the manager down. I was out there last night and Humber and Gray somehow kept them in the game. They gave up two outs with bunts and the Quentin AB was pathetic but then again so has Rios.
