  1. 6 ER. Somehow I think this team is actually overconfident.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) 94 mph straight fastballs from Thornton isn't going to cut it. The Thorton to closer move had disaster written all over it and may go down as one of the worst personnel decisions this organization has made. You saw this in Baltimore and Minnesota last year and it is holding true through six games this year. He is Latroy Hawkins.
  3. Thorton does not have enough pitches to be a closer and this team should have realized this. His FB is good but he is a one pitch pitcher. Danks is also the best 5 inning pitcher in baseball.
  4. The Rays offense is terrible. It is NL bad. Danks should put up numbers similar to Jackson's.
  5. Johnny Damon's ball yesterday was the same that Lastings misplayed as well as the same type of play Fuld messed up yesterday. IF it was misplayed itis a 3-2 and the pen is coming in. There is nothing Milledge could do better than Lillibridge. I thought Milledge could play the outfield he can not. Therefore he has no role on any team.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) Only the Cubs won the first two. I know that but they atruggling to be a team a home that can esily lose 100 games and the D'back starting pitching has shut them down and they suck.
  7. cubs are keeping me entertained at least. the D'backs are terrible and they easily could have swept the cubs at home.
  8. fathom there is your inconsistent hitting from inning to inning....84 MPH "heater"
  9. Go check out the footage of the Chris Young bloop homerun in the cubs game if you want to see bad baseball at a price of $18M.
  10. Do backup catchers hit .700 agaisnt the Sox, they all seem to?
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) Masterson is a good pitcher, especially if his command is on. and what about Jeff Francis?
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Disagree...we have the real Gordon Beckham instead of soph slump Beckham. Also, Dunn's had better at bats in a week than Kotsay had all of last year. I'm all for being a pessimist, but this is insane right now. The hitting is better as a whole but it is not consistent from game to game. In 5 games Justin Masterson and Jeff Francis have shut the Sox down. That does not bode well in the long run. Well this game is now out of hand.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) Those innings wouldn't have been an issue had the bullpen done its job. Last night's game should have never went into extras. I don't think it's fair to blame the offense for scoring 6 runs. but that did happen and just like last year once the bullpen blows a lead the game is over as the bats can not hit the other teams bullpen. Other than the first guy out of the pen in the opener, the other teams bullpens have seemingly shut the Sox down. My issue right now is that nothing has changed from last year except the payroll as far as an approach to the game. The starters and hitting are inconsistent from inning to inning, the bullpen is a crapshoot and the baseball IQ / fundamentals are extremely low. The Twins are losing to good teams and the Sox are losing to crap teams.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) I honestly don't know how you can complain about a team scoring 6 runs. That's not bad at all. The six runs are not the issue it was getting shut down late in the game like the 8 pitch 10th or 11th that is leaving a bad taste with me and now the K with 1st and 3rd and nobody out. These are the games you need to make up ground that the Sox do not and then wonder why they can not catch the Twins.
  15. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) LOL we scored 6 runs yesterday. If the offense has to score 6+ runs everyday we're not going to win much this year. but have now not scored in the lst nine innings. 6 runs against Luke Hochaver is not all that impressive.
  16. Another steller performance from the squad. The out of the gate quickness lasted two days. Francis will go seven and give up two runs on four hits.
  17. That was an impressive inning. How long will the bunt into the triple play hangover last. Can one stupid managerial decision in the third game of the season change the complexion of a team's season? They are not taking the up the middle approach that they had against Carmona any longer.
  18. The fundamentals of this team are non-existant....why should that be a shocker.
  19. The things that we have seen thus far this year was what cost them last year. Poor Fundamentals Being shut down by bullpens Questionable bullpen work.
  20. Well when the Twins are winning the division in September we can all say the meaningless loses to s*** teams in April are just ordinary games.
  21. The fundamentals of this team never change. There really no point to Lillibridge as he has no defensive ability and just f***ing up his only trait.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 5, 2011 -> 07:30 AM) Yup, first time the "official" attendance was under 27k since 2002. Probably half that many people actually there. I don't know if those were ticket holders not showing up or tickets that the Cubs and their brokers purchased and were unable to sell to anyone. Ticket brokers own a ton of season tickets and are the holders of most of the empty seats.
  23. With how good the Royal farm system is, if I were a fan of theirs I would want to blow this season to get another high pick for when these guys come up next year.
  24. 2 pitches...2 hits.... Now Thorton Guillen is a f***ing moron...
