The problem is that the compromise bill is center-right at best, just as the tax cuts last year were. Assuming that the compromises Congress comes up with is truly in the middle of the political spectrum isn't a good idea.

That was a nice way of saying "the op-ed is off-base" which is a nice way of saying "he's full of s***."

The actual HRW report doesn't paint nearly the rosey picture that op-ed does.

The HRW report itself I think it's inexcusable these days that articles at major publications don't link to primary sources they're writing about.
