To be fair I have the same reaction whenever I hear [MSNBC talking head] ranting about the "KOCH BROTHERS!" in the same manner that Limbaugh etc. have ranted about Soros in the past. It's just that the Republicans are so much better at politics that their memes just end up as the default starting point.

Those LED's are ridiculously expensive. I was looking at $90 for one light fixture's worth for dimmable ones. I decided not to bother since I rarely use that light. CFL's, on the other hand, are now $2/4 pack at Home Depot thanks to Com Ed subsidies. I still don't understand why ComEd and Nicor subsidize higher efficiencies since it means you'll use less energy.

I'm sure if I dug around enough I could find enrollment rates by area of study. The data I've seen only specifies level of education. Even at non-HS or HS graduate levels, minority unemployment is significantly higher. I would be surprised if minorities were so severely overrepresented in 'less demand' fields of higher education that it resulted in 100% increase in unemployment, though. BTW, Y2HH is the WORST poster on the internets.

Nah, the republicans have ideas--just look at Ryan's budget proposal. But like Y2HH paraphrased, they're just bad ideas.
