people travel for routine cosmetic and other elective surgeries that can often be found cheaper in other countries

medical bankruptcy is a core issue in our broken system

Well immigration laws do exist for one. But I'm not sure why you think that's responsive in any way.

He defended Charlottesville as a free speech rally so who knows how high his bar is

Trump uses ms13 as a dog whistle for all Latino immigrants all the time.

Yep, there's an entire thread for it! That same "poors can just go to the ER and not pay their bills!" thing was broken down in depth multiple times over several years, but it's a zombie argument that can't be killed. Little hurt is right that some were definitely negatively impacted by the ACA. It was very far from ideal, even if it does represent a significant improvement over the status quo ante for more people than were negatively impacted. But the Republican response has not been to offer fixes, just tearing down and going back to the status quo ante or worse. If people voted Trump because of the ACA, they should keep in mind what he was promising. No cuts to Medicare or Medicaid. Cheaper insurances for everyone. Nobody would lose coverage. He even talked about universal coverage! Of course he immediately abandoned all of that in favor of Ryan's Randian policies.

I have pretty good insurance, gold plan equivalent for a couple hundred a month for a family. When we had a baby last summer, the total out of pocket was probably $2.5k or so My Canadian friends had a baby at the same time. Their total bill was less than $100

there's a heck of a lot more to health care than "ER visits and emergency surgery"

*small number of people for a handful of procedures the vast majority simply enjoy their affordable healthcare that doesn't bankrupt people regularly. something something doesn't fit the narrative

Trump used dehumanizing language. Literally. It's part of his very explicit anti immigrant statements and policies over several years. He's used ms-13 to tar immigrants in general many times in the past, so "oh he meant ms-13" doesn't really work as an excuse. He's attacked numerous non-white countries and groups. He will describe crimes in grizzly detail if they were committed by undocumented immigrants or Muslims but is noticably quiet when it's other groups. His administration is deporting hundreds of thousands of people who have been here legally for years or decades. They're treating immigrant children awfully. It's all part of a larger pattern. Nobody should be tolerant of Trump's rhetoric on immigrants. It's disgusting and hateful. And save the crocodile tears for the "outnumbered" guy who couldn't answer a straight question and didn't have an objection to a single thing Trump's ever said. His morals are unquestionably backing an awful person.
-
This is also interesting regarding Trump's false financial disclosure statements.
-
That's a lot of words to defend dehumanizing language from a man who has spent years attacking immigrants and then defending Nazis.

I don't know if this will have as long of legs as PatriotHole, but they've had some good stuff already:
-
MS-13 is something he's blown out of proportion as a way to tar immigrants more broadly. Dehumanizing people is still bad.
-
keep endorsing the language of dehumanization and ethnic cleansing
-
crossing a border isn't "acting like an animal" but please, keep endorsing that kind of dehumanizing language. it looks great on you.
-
hey guess what they're still human did Obama call them "animals" and say they weren't even people? did he use the sort of language frequently used by people who want ethnic cleansing? no? it was a completely irrelevant whataboutism? oh, okay.
-
Look if you so much as even imply that Trump has Nazi like tendencies you're crazy Literally calling immigrants non-human animals.

Wait do you buy into the spirit cooking pizza gate stuff??

It's dead in the House on arrival, but a very good step in the Senate on net neutrality. Hopefully if the Dems can take the House in November, we can get this passed for real. Verizon has already hinted at some great "pay for access on each individual app or service" models with their 5g rollouts.

The alt right was explicitly about white supremacy and creating ethnostates when Richard Spencer coined the term as the softer, gentler face of his Nazi politics. There is no parallel "alt left" where that happened. There are a wide variety of liberals and leftists with big differences in politics, but there is no "alt left". There isn't an equivalent mirror for every term or group.
-
Regardless of what you think about some tactics of some on the left, the "alt left" is still not a thing. The alt-right was a self-labeling group. Nobody calls themselves "alt left". Reddy, the best president ever said there were some very fine people marching with tiki torches and chanting Nazi slogans the night before they murdered a protestor, what more do you need??
