BYU prof. on paid leave for 9/11 conspiracy
StrangeSox replied to samclemens's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) Actually, isn't he correct, in a way? I thought the failure had to due with the weakening of the steel and the floor design (trusses and such), not that it needed to melt the steel persay. The common claim among doubters of 9/11 is that there is no way that the towers should have collapsed because the burning jet fuel wouldn't have been hot enough to melt steel, so therefore sinister forces must be at work. While technically true (steel will not be melted by burning kerosene), there are many factors this theory ignores. First, kerosene wasn't the only thing burning. Everything in that office building would have went up. Second, buring kerosene will seriously weaken the steel, as you said. This guy also claimed to have produced nuclear cold fusion before. He's completely full of crap. He should rightfully be fired if this is the material he researches and publishes. I wouldn't want my University associated with this man's 'work' -
BYU prof. on paid leave for 9/11 conspiracy

The guy was a physics professor, correct? And he ranted about jet fuel not being hot enough to melt steel, therefore the building couldn't collapse? That's basic mechanics of materials, the guy doesn't even know his field. I have no problem with them putting a guy who doesn't know WTF he's talking about on paid leave. -
How was this man even given access to the 2 year old child for any length of time? This guy needs to rot in jail for a long, long time, regardless of what happened to his daughter. We don't need vigilante justice.

One of the times I went into "Family Video" recently I laughed my ass off at what one of the employees said. Pointing to the "Prequels and Sequels (with some remakes thrown in too)", he said "and over there is the wall proving that Hollywood can't come up with a decent idea to save their lives" Sadly, this terrible movies will probably make the studio money, thus encouraging them to keep cranking out s***.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) There will be an upgrade in LF and there will be one pitcher gone. After that, I think the Ryan Sweeney era has begun in CF. So where does BA go?
-
Is it just me, or does it look like Ozzie just doesn't care lately? he looks like he could give two s***s about their performance out there.

"It is easy to question a manager's in game decisions after they are made. Hindsight is 20/20." Plenty of people complain about his decisions before/ as they are being made, not after they've already backfired.

I don't get the fascination with her. She's just some spoiled, ignorant brat who isn't even attractive.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) That explains all of the frustrations in arguing over this. Don't forget your blinders!

Why is it so hard for people to understand that Anderson has dramatically improved at the play. hey, guess what, he's a ROOKIE! A ROOKIE IMPROVED AFTER HIS FIRST COUPLE OF MONTHS! WHAT A MINDJOB THAT ONE IS!!!! So looking at his SEASON BA is pretty retarded to make statements about what to do with him NOW. He is clearly much, much better at the plate now than he was in April and May. If you're too dense to understand that and insist on including the first two months, don't ever try to be a baseball scout.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) I understand the difference between Anderson and Harris, point is the organization doesn't take kindly to players that don't take their "suggestions". I have a REAL problem with Anderson not seeking out a place like winter ball to help his development. As far as letting his body relax, why does he need that? I read all the time on these boards that he should be playing every day. You know that there's a big difference between being a starter and not having an offseason.
-
Anyone who continues to sight Anderson's season BA, while ignoring how well he has done since the ASB, is arguing from a pretty poor position. He looked completely lost the first 2 months, and was horrible at the plate. Since then, he's turned it around and become a major league hitter. Gee, maybe its because he was a rookie in his first full season? Does he still have room for improvement, and will he continue to get better with more playing time? Sure. But Ozzie is calling out all of the wrong guys here.
-
Its pretty retarded to talk about BA over 5 games.
-
If anyone were to look at my account they'd see I haven't touched the thing in months. It is sorta creepy, though.
-
Amazing performance. I'm not expecting much for his next start (he's looked brilliant before only to revert), but here's to hoping this is the beginning of a new Javy.
-
Ridiculous.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Dude STFU, he may not be the best in-game manager, but his players always play hard...oh wait...f***...what exactly does he do well? "stays the course"
-
Think they're going over the unbeatable strategy of "low and away, low and away, breaking ball?"

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Grounder to 3rd base, double off the LF wall (almost out at 2nd base), K, pop up on infield. That's my 9th inning prediction. grounder to short, pop up to infielder. Close, but no cigar.
-
Javy must be pretty pissed at the offense right now. To be fair, he did this to them all year by blowing any lead they gave him.
-
MVP chant is annoying.
-
So I missed most of this game. What's the matter with Anderson?

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) boy this team is bad. Hitting's great, pitching sucks. Pitching shines, hitting tanks. wtf... The hallmarks of a bad team.
