  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 07:40 AM) So procedural rules are always more important than the facts. They have employees admitting they underinflated the balls. All of the Patriot footballs were underinflated yet all of the others were not. Someone on the Patiots didn't follow the rules. This is just like the Ryan Braun not getting suspended for PEDs because the technician didn't follow the "procedure" yet followed common practice even though it was a valid positive test. This reasoning is why there is still rampant cheating in sports. If you want to prove cheating actually happened, you need to follow good procedures. Cheating exists because people want to win and want more money or prestige or whatever. Happens outside of sports too. Edit another way of saying that is that without good procedure, you can't establish the facts conclusively.
  2. Which balls were tested first? Were all balls at equilibrium temperature before starting measurements? What gauges were used? Were they properly calibrated by a certified lab? How many measurements of each ball were taken?
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 07:00 AM) I've never seen anything of the sort. That also doesn't explain the employees who admitted to underinflating balls. The NFLs crack team appeared unaware that pressure changes with temperature and had no standardized procedure for performing and recording the tests they did.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 06:41 AM) It's been scientifically proven that those footballs were "illegal" due to natural temperature change. The Colts' footballs were "illegal" as well. The whole initial report has been pretty thoroughly picked apart. And even if they did have evidence, the rules for equipment tampering call for some light fines, not suspending the qb for a fourth of a season or vacating wins (lol, the least meaningful thing ever) Edit doesn't the NFL not even know what guage was used for measuring the different balls?
  5. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) I'm a fan of neither and I don't think he should be suspended.
  6. The flat tax is a gimmick that would result in a massive cut for the wealthy and a drastic cut in government revenue. Tax brackets are not at all complicated; the hard part is figuring out what your taxable income is after deductions and credits, and a flat tax doesn't change that at all.
  7. If it's just a replacement it's super easy. The wax sealing ring is messy though
  8. That is generally due to the eitc, which was actually a quasi libertarian version of a basic income pushed by Milton Friedman.
  9. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) Y'all voting Libertarian like bridges and roads, right? I've never quite understood the logistical realities of the Libertarian movement, and as such always just attributed it to being supported by easily manipulated young people who loved Ron Paul, and "get off my lawn" old people. "f*** you, I got mine" When you dig into the ideological libertarianism from guys like walter block, rothbard, Rockwell, Hans Hermann hoppe etc it gets nutty pretty quickly. But I'd say most people voting for the LP don't go down that rabbit hole.
  10. I had the game on in the background on Saturday while doing some reno projects and cooking dinner. I saw probably 30 minutes of game time and somehow managed to miss every single goal. Oh well, here's to tonight!
  11. Perfect timing. That looks awesome for a rooftop deck. Hope you're utilizing that grill tonight!
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) Ive watched several angles, nobody touches him, he pitchporks his own player with his stick. Yep, it was wedged under Bouwmeester's left skate and it wasn't pushed there by a hawks player. Probably didn't realize that's what had happened and thought Toews had stepped on it or something.
  13. Looks awesome, great work!
  14. Hmmm, why do people suddenly pay attention to someone when they die rather than randomly espousing praise all the time?
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) I remember it, but I more remember him just rocking out in the middle of hurricane weather and being really impressed NFL Films has a short video on this!
  16. Who doesn't remember his guitar-penis silhouette performance from the Super Bowl a few years back?
  17. Prince covering "Creep" at Cochella
  18. [context: Trump often says someone got fired "like a dog." no, it doesn't make any sense]
  19. Trump has said he's ok with people using whatever gendered bathroom they identify with/present as.
  20. We built a trebuchet as a final project for our physics class. Most of the other groups' were table-top models. Ours was brought in on a flatbed trailer and we used a couple hundred pounds of weights from the weight room. It threw a 5 lb sledge hammer head 100 yards or so from what I remember. What I'm saying is you should definitely build functional siege weapons.
