  1. There's allegedly video of the police tampering with the surveillance video from the Burger King, or at least using the system before 86 minutes mysteriously disappeared. http://www.rawstory.com/2015/12/cops-didnt...aquan-mcdonald/
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 05:03 PM) Lastly, if you really want to know how Rahm operates, remember that the reporter that busted this whole story open was BANNED FROM A PUBLIC PRESS CONFERENCE INVOLVING THE MAYOR. Banned from the room! Lack of all credibility and accountability? I'd say so. I'm no fan of Rahm, but that's not exactly what happened. The guy who filed the FOIA request in the first place is an uncredentialled journalist (says a lot about the rest of the 'professional' Chicago journalists that didn't pursue this). When Rahm's press conference was announced, he and every other reporter in the city ran to city hall to get in. Space was limited, and reporters without the appropriate credentials weren't let in. I would be surprised if the guys working the doors would even know who this guy was from any other uncredentialled person. As far as they knew, this guy was no different from you or I trying to get into the overcrowded press conference.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) I agree, it was quite terrible, though I would venture a guess that the cover-up work was almost entirely done out of sight of the Mayor. I do hold him accountable anyway though, through the lens of being a terrible manager, if that is the case. Well, sure, but for obvious deniability reasons.
  4. Continuing the live blogging of my flight on an unrelated tangent, man so much of the West in the country is a barren, desolate hellscape.
  5. It's two people who mainly agree along liberal lines (one is flying to a Sanders conference I think?) but who the hell thinks "I know what I'll do at the start of a four hour flight, bring up abortion!" I usually have the headphones in by the time the tenth person is walking on the plane behind me. Eta they have now moved on to less contentious issues such as Syrian refugees, gun rights, universal health care, tax policy and who black people should be protesting.
  6. People who engage in lengthy political discussions (really more like monologues) with random strangers on a plane are weird.
  7. Rahm already went to a runoff in his first reelection, not sure how he survives the next election. Good riddance.
  8. greg stop listening to talk radio
  9. I think it was supposed to be a message about resilience and solidarity.
  10. There was a domestic terrorist attack on a planned parenthood clinic in Colorado over the weekend. http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/28/us/colorado-...thood-shooting/

  12. Pretty sure these announcers just called Brett "unsolicited dick pic" Favre one of the classiest guys to ever play
  13. Human dumpster fire and man leading the Republican primaries for months now has moved on from birtherism/antimexican /antimuslim /antiblack to now mocking a physically disabled reporter. http://gawker.com/trump-mocks-reporter-suf...elet-1744728653 Godwins law doesn't apply when you're talking about a man retweeting literal neonazis.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) Wow, thanks guys! It is only two of us and we are flying into Dulles airport with a layover in Chicago. Will we have to check in twice or will the first boarding number/group be the same for the 2nd flight out of Chicago? I would hope we can get 2 seats together but sounds like it will be a toss up. When people check in right at the 24 hour mark is it likely you will get group B? You'll be checked into both flights at the same time, so I think you'd actually get a leg up on people that are only taking the Chicago flight. You'll get two different board numbers/groups when you check in. If you're right at the 24 mark, you'll probably be in the B's, maybe even the A's if you're really lucky and there aren't a lot of A-List and Early Birds on the flight. Since it's just the two of you, as long as you check in at 24 hours, you should be able to grab some seats together.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) Buy the early bird feature. It's worth it. otherwise, try to check-in 24 hrs before as soon as it hits. Southwest is tremendous at being on time and fast and comfortable. But if you are a C you will not sit together and you'll be in the middle. Multiple windows all refreshing once you're withing about 30 seconds of the 24 hour check-in window! If you do get early bird, don't play the silly game of just getting it for one person and then having that person save a bunch of seats. If it's just two of you though, nobody is going to care if you're "saving" a middle seat. I fly Southwest all the time for work. Like DA said, the "Wanna Get Away" ticket is basically the same as the "Anytime," just without the refundable part. When it comes to the actual flight, they're identical.
  16. Police misconduct cases have cost Chicago over half a billion dollars in the last decade alone. http://www.bettergov.org/news/beyond-burge
  17. Jason Van Dyke's Charging Documents Reveal Just How Massively Full of s*** the Fraternal Order of Police Can Be
  18. Without the video, the initial fabricated story probably stands and the murderer walks.
  19. Alvarez's explanation for why it took over a year, that it's different because he's a cop whereas she can charge a gangbanger in a day, was...less than satisfying. Rahm's press conference was also a big train wreck.
  20. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 24, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) They need to seriously consider obstruction charges or something for the cops who erased the surveillance footage at the Burger King. And for the ones who helped fabricate the initial cover-up story. The rot runs up to the top on this one.
  21. How Chicago tried to cover up a police execution
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 23, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) They know its him, several eye witnesses saw him. The only issue is they are worried hes going to kill her. Its literally across the street and two houses over. I checked all my cameras for footage for the news. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/11/23/pol...nd-in-oak-park/
  23. Holy s*** that video. Why on earth did it take over a year for charges?
  24. That doesn't really answer either of those questions.
  25. How sure of that are you? How do the numbers compare if you take ongoing movements and efforts and marches and compare those numbers to short-term events like Ferguson and Baltimore?
