QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:05 AM) Keep this in mind if you are voting in a Democratic primary: Hillary is such a lying, conniving b**** that I'll even vote for somebody as insane as Trump or Cruz if those are the two choices. And I'm not alone. I'm not a fan of a big chunk of Bernie's ideas, but I at least find the man to be trustworthy enough to vote for him over somebody like Trump or Cruz. honestly thought this was a greg post until I saw ss2k5's reply

It's broadband not TV.

Paul's isolationist-lite when it comes to foreign policy but a pretty standard Republican otherwise. He's closer to the mainstream than his father was, anyway. I'd say Cruz is more radical than Paul.

My company's HR handbook mandates that we all greet each other with "Allahu Ahkbar" each and every morning.

lol rail guns. there's always money in the banana stand for absurd weapons systems that will never approach becoming a real thing.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Also been trying for a year with 3 miscarriages, sucks to go through. 2 of em were very early and probably wouldn't have known if not for tracking. Also had trouble with the not wanting to tell people until 12 weeks, but the last one we just didn't drink and didn't care if people asked. After having some trouble, its amazing the amount of people who have the same deal. Sucks to lose the big reveal, but it relieved a lot of stress to just be like "yes, we're trying, not taking any chances". Also was a lot easier on the wife just telling her mom and sister and not needing to worry about secrecy and also having someone to talk to if anything went wrong. Sorry to hear that. One of our friends have been going through that recently.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:58 AM) Well, even still, that's $360 versus the $99 I could get by doing some combination of Spirit/Frontier/Delta/United/American Airlines. From what I've read, I get 1 free carry on at Spirit, and 1 checked bag is like $26. I'm a very light traveler. Especially with the "budget" carriers like Spirit, make sure you figure out what all the possible fees you could encounter will be. Those airlines thrive on offering "cheap" tickets that end up just as if not more expensive than everyone else.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) I just think people want to be respectful of other religions and cultures. No one is trying to make everyone the same or stop Christmas. Such an overreaction. Yeah, I don't think it's "caving" over some expected blowback from the PC POLICE! It's just choosing to not be exclusive.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:28 AM) Google "the war on Christmas". Yes people get upset when things are renamed to be "holiday" parties, parades, plays, etc... instead of "Christmas". The "grown adults" line was supposed to be the giveaway. I can't believe what Christmas has come to today All these atheists and judges trying to take it away No carols in our public schools, no trees in City Hall And they wish you Season's Greetings at the shopping mall Ain't you sick of it all? Well, there's a war on Christmas, it's under attack But this year America's taking it back Separate church and state, that's what some lawyer said I say it's time we separated him from his head You can call me unchristian but that's not true 'Cause have I got a present for you It's the though that counts Christmas is as American as apple pie It's a late December version of the Fourth of July And they may go by a different name But Uncle Sam and Santa Claus are one and the same So boys take aim Well, there's a war on Christmas, it's under attack But this year America's taking it back Separate church and state, that's what some liberal said I say it's time we separated him from his head You can call me unchristian but that's not true Buddy I got a present for you I hope it's the right size Oh say can you see this Christmas Baby Jesus 'tis of thee I'm placing 50 shining stars atop The Statue of Liber-Tree Then I'll go and jingle the Liberty Bell Post Old Glory with an elf And if you say I can't deck my halls Then I'll deck you myself Well, there's a war on Christmas it's under attack Hey, this year Old Saint Nicholas is taking it back He's firing guns from his reindeer, dropping bombs from his sled This year if you were naughty, you're as good as dead He wears red and white, and you can throw in blue And has he got a present for you And St. Toby has got one too Yeah, we got a present for you As in the aclu Easy Rudolph, down boy

I guess I don't understand the problem with large public institutions with diverse staff and students not tailoring their official functions to one specific religion. Nothing will beat when our regional office had a "cultural diversity food day" a few years back during Ramadan, though.

I don't know what your schedule is, but just randomly choosing departing 1/9 and returning 1/16, you can get Wanna Get Away nonstop fares for about $180 each way from Midway to Phoenix. You wouldn't have bag fees like some other airlines charge, either.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) "PC police". Glad this is a term that hasn't been overused. Good job. "PC" is essentially meaningless.
-
I went to school with a Jehovah's Witness and we had "holiday parties" instead of "Christmas parties" and none of the kids actually cared. Do grown adults actually get upset if it's not called a "Christmas" party?
-
You shouldn't have a problem getting a sw flight to Phoenix for a good price on "wanna get away"
-
Nobody is prevented from saying "merry Christmas" that's what is annoying

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) I think Obama refers to them as ISIL. Also he's not racist because he refuses to say "radical Islam" ever. He won't blame the religion at all. What's his deal? "That does not mean denying the fact that an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities. This is a real problem that Muslims must confront, without excuse. Muslim leaders here and around the globe have to continue working with us to decisively and unequivocally reject the hateful ideology that groups like ISIL and al Qaeda promote; to speak out against not just acts of violence, but also those interpretations of Islam that are incompatible with the values of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and human dignity."

Judge deciding whether to reveal police shooting video

Is there any direct connection between Lynch and Rahm? If there isn't, I wouldn't see her putting her career on the line to protect Rahm. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 09:55 AM) There was a document dump last night showing all of the other police interviews. Hint: they all lies. Charge them all. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:26 PM) Yeah well San Bernardino has like, 2 Subways, man. edit: ha, it's much larger than I thought. Many, many more Subways! There's actually a link between Paris and San Bernardino! An Eagles of Death Metal concert was attacked in Paris, and they just happen to have a song about San Bernardino.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) So true. Life is so hard for that group. So persecuted. Nobody ever talks about Islamic terrorism. You have to go to the darknet to even find anyone brave enough to talk about Paris.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) I think 14 v 140 or whatever (with multiple, coordinated attacks) also bumps up the level of response. Paris has also been the center of Western culture for centuries, somewhere everyone around the world knows about. Tons of literature set there, movies etc.
