  1. As imperfect as a lot of the QBs on that list are, I don't know that I can really make a strong case for Cutler over any of them.
  2. As bad as the Ebola outbreak in this country? Or the widespread domestic Isis attacks?
  3. The counterpoint to that would be that Cutler seems to have regressed this year.
  4. Right, since 1986 hospitals that accept Medicare patients (which has to be close to every hospital) are required to provide emergency health care treatment to anyone who comes in the door. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emergency_Med...ctive_Labor_Act
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 03:57 PM) On the 2nd point, very true. What information do you have on malpractice having little to no impact on overall healthcare costs? http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/could-...th-care-system/ Study: Don’t expect big health-care savings from medical malpractice reform It basically ends up with more money in doctors' pockets due to reduced liability insurance premiums and reduced liability and not much else.
  6. yeah well Jay hasn't thrown an INT in Chicago in over 12 hours!
  7. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 16, 2014 -> 11:45 PM) I'm taking Peyton all day.
  8. They seem to do this complete lack of urgency thing every week
  9. Gruber was am economic consultant, not a political one. He was not the "architect" of the law, either.
  10. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 03:29 PM) If I claim her as a dependent would she be on the hook for it or would it be on me? Also she will only not be covered for like 1 or 2 months total out of the year. Then she is good either way. You have to be uncovered for more than three months.
  11. Defensive medicine isn't that much of a cost and malpractice reform has had little or no impact on overall healthcare costs where it's been implemented. It's also hard to separate out a "defensive" procedure from a "something else we can bill insurance for" procedure.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 02:59 PM) And now Brandon Marshall is offering a guy on Twitter $25k to box him. This year keeps getting better. I don't get all this talk about how angry Bears fans are right now. It sucks, but this team is well into comically dysfunctional fun-bad territory now, just enjoy the ride.
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 11:55 AM) The great lakes were pretty much frozen solid last winter. I would imagine that impacted how warm they got this summer and thus will not take much to freeze them up again this winter. On the bright side this causes the water level to rise which is a good thing. On pure speculation on my part but it makes good sense to me. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/b...0715-story.html from July:
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) That's an interesting question. If you had no insurance for 2014 but are insured at tax time 2015, do you pay a penalty? I would guess no but I'm not sure. The fee is for the year you're filing the taxes for, so picking up coverage in 2015 wouldn't help you meet your requirements for 2014, plus you need to be insured for at least 9 months out of the year.
  15. There's no way she'd be hit by the mandate penalty making that little money. If she wasn't covered by your plan until age 26, she'd probably be eligible for Medicaid now anyway.
  16. good breakdown but I meant to ask how do the prospects for the 2015 draft look because the Bears should have a pretty decent pick.
  17. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) Well, that's laughable. Where are they going to go to make more money, even if they took a pay cut here? A competing single payer system? There is nowhere for them to go, and they won't just "stop practicing medicine", as it's likely their only method to make a living. Hey I didn't say "don't socialize our medical care with OBUMMERCARE! the doctors will all leave for CANADA! or GO GALT!" made any damn sense.
  18. On the other hand, any time the topic of reduced doctors' compensation comes up, plenty of people scream that they'll all just leave the country or stop practicing medicine.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 22, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) After Surgery, Surprise $117,000 Medical Bill From Doctor He Didn’t Know Piece in the NYT highlighting how more and more people are being hit with surprise medical bills that include huge charges from out-of-network physicians and surgeons who did little or nothing.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) Man the video game industry has gotten really disgusting with the launches of completely broken like Assassin's Creed, Drive Club, and Halo in the past month. Two of those are even first party games. gotten? bug-filled major releases have been a staple forever, at least in the PC world.
