  1. DC Villagers are the scourge of the Earth and should purged.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) Seriously that is a hilarious article "CLINTON: "Their campaign pollster said, 'We're not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact checkers.' Now that is true. I couldn't have said it better myself — I just hope you remember that every time you see the ad." THE FACTS: Clinton, who famously finger-wagged a denial on national television about his sexual relationship with intern Monica Lewinsky and was subsequently impeached in the House on a perjury charge, has had his own uncomfortable moments over telling the truth. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky," Clinton told television viewers. Later, after he was forced to testify to a grand jury, Clinton said his statements were "legally accurate" but also allowed that he "misled people, including even my wife."" How can you write that after "the facts"? That's a complete non sequiter! This is why fact-checkers are so terrible. They believe that, in order to appear fair and objective, they need to criticize both sides in equal amounts. This leads to ridiculously stupid crap like this. Clinton accurately quoted the Romney campaign, but he also said this thing about Monica Lewinski 14 years ago! Both Sides!!!!
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) Every democrat from a red state falls over backwards to help out republican presidents. IT's what keeps their jobs. Luckily when there's a democratic president they can be whipped. The only republican like this is Scott Brown Just look at what every "centrist" pundit pines for when it comes to policy--it's 95% what Barack Obama and the Democratic platform is, yet they still bemoan a supposed lack of a "centrist" and "reasonable" party. Tom Freidman is the worst about this.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 04:21 PM) I'm actually and unfortunately not shocked he was found guilty. This is the Nancy Grace-ification of our legal system. He was guilty before the trial even started. The 12 jurors weren't going back to their jobs, family and friends after letting him go. Casey Anthony is a counterpoint to that. Nancy Grace didn't shut up about it for two years, but she was still found not guilty.
  5. One way to start is to stop the rape-as-punishment culture!
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) I thought it gave pretty good evidence of Obama not wanting to work with the other side at all. Obama is willing and eager to make significant changes to New Deal and Great Society programs that Democrats hold dear, like Social Security and Medicare. This pissed off a good amount of his liberal base. Every single Republican candidate, on the other hand, said they would reject a deal that was 10-1 cuts and tax increases to address the deficit. The media loves to play the dumb "both sides!" argument, but it really isn't true. Again, Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader in the Senate, plainly stated that Republicans' goal was to defeat Obama. He said this several years ago and they've stuck by it. The debt ceiling debacle last summer was just the most obvious version of that.
  7. Ford was also bailed out a few years earlier and relied on government loans.
  8. That is what happened, no doubt about it. Some dumb ass with a gun thought it was a good idea to follow an innocent kid through the neighborhood and eventually this wound up with him shooting said innocent kid. But that sort of response is exactly why I think your "vigilante!" crap is so crass.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) The key words here .... "That implies" I've said over and over what I meant and what my stance is, so I'm not implying anything. You guys don't want to address that part of my argument which is crazy. How many times do I have to say it? I'm not implying anything. What you say implies things, whether you meant for them to or not. Your protestations aside, your position leads to supporting the continuation of prison rape so that "bad people" fear it. That's deplorable.
  10. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) “DOING THE RIGHT THING” — BY STOPPING SOMEONE FROM VOTING DEMOCRAT: Bonnie Pollak, a Republican, weighed her options. Should she be loyal to her spouse, respect his legal right and mail the ballot? Or remain faithful to her deeply held beliefs and suppress his vote? “It was a real dilemma,” says Ms. Pollak, 58 years old, a student in a doctoral program who lives in Manhattan. “I decided to do the right thing.” Ms. Pollak threw the ballot away. Friends don't let friends, or spouses, vote Democrat. Wow a Republican explicitly endorsing voter disenfranchisement because they're voting for the right party. Shocking.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) They hate Obama so much that we know that isn't the case. The hardcore people vote. They don't stay home. Well like I said, they'll vote, but if they see another terrible RINO candidate who will sell them down the river, they're not exactly going to enthusiastically campaign for him.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) My point is even if all prison rape stopped today, which it should cause it's against the law, that the perception (fear) that it could occur would still be out there for the next 25 years or so. Whenever you hear about a child molester going to jail, somebody out there mentions the fact the prison population will be happy to meet this molester up close and personal. That won't change for 50 years even if all rape stopped today. I'm against prison rape, but for people like Holmes fearing it. I don't know why that makes me a bad guy. The bad guy here is Holmes, the scum of the earth in fact is he. You are correct when you say that the perception would linger for years after the problem stopped. What makes you a bad guy is endorsing the current situation that leads to that very legitimate perception. You want people like Holmes fearing it, but if it stopped tomorrow, then they wouldn't fear it in, say, 25 years. That implies that you're in favor of rape-as-punishment culture continuing in prisons so that bad people will fear being raped if not actually be raped. Holmes is a bad person, but so is anyone who wants to further rape-as-punishment.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) Nah, just pointing out the usefulness of guns. It seems pretty crass to do so in a thread about a horrible incident in which some dumb ass hunted down an innocent child.
  14. President Barry Sortero Hussein NOBAMA literally saved my life.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) I don't think it means there's a lot of rape. There's a perception out there that prisoners bang each other in prison and some of it is forced. That perception will probably be there forever cause there's no proof of it either way. That perception is there because there's a huge amount of prison rape that actually happens. If that wasn't true, there wouldn't be fear of it. Prison rape in America is so prevalent that more men are raped than women in this country. Rape or fear of rape should never be seen as a punishment.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 10:33 AM) I wish the republicans would actually spend time focusing on issues that matter, instead of constantly talk about stupid s*** that the hardcore ultra conservative wacko's want to here. It irritates the hell out of me. Come on...figure it out you morons, those guys are still going to vote republican. Irregardless if you aren't a complete ultra conservative yourself. Stupid morons. Those guys might stay home if they don't like the candidate. Or at least they won't be donating money and organizing even if they still cast the vote.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 10:09 AM) No one cares about what the candidates wives are saying except: 1. People who are paid to pretend they do 2. The most active partisans on either side 3. The person who thinks that anything positive said about the speech proves that the media is in the tank for candidate x.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:35 AM) If the other side blocks his good ideas he needs to do what politicians did in the past and meet with some of these men on the other side and get their support. Greg, their stated goal from the first week he took office was to defeat him. He spent a whole bunch of time trying to get their support on stimulus and the health care bill, and last kept trying to do everything he could to betray his liberal base to strike a "Grand Bargain" that would have led to terrible changes in social welfare spending while getting a small amount of tax increases in return. They simply will not give him their support and reject anything he puts forward, even if it was their preferred policy a few years ago.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 02:02 AM) No prisoners are ok to rape. But do i hope Holmes every moment of his waking day fears what's ahead for him, of course I want that. I want every moment of the rest of his life to be hell. This isn't complicated. He would only fear being raped if being raped is a serious problem in prisons. I do not want rape to be a serious problem in prisons, and mindsets that view rape or a fear of rape as legitimate punishment are appalling and affect more than just prisoners.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:47 AM) I'd like to hear your guys' position on the killer. That's the topic here. You guys seem to be offended that I think he's a piece of s***. I think I've made my position clear on the prison rape matter. Hell yes I hope he dreads the possibility of going to the general population and fears the possibility of rape. I want the guy's life to be a living hell. I'm a little appalled you guys seem to be taking the side of this creep. Nobody is offended that you think he's a piece of s***. We're disgusted that you think fear of being raped is a good thing. Because that means there's a lot of rape. That doesn't mean we're taking anyone's side apart from "nobody should be raped, including prisoners."
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) As expected ... the Democrats in the media slobber over Obama's speech. CNN's Wolf Blitzer: "The First Lady not hitting a home run, but probably a Grand Slam." NBC's Chuck Todd: "Michelle Obama owned this convention in a way that no speaker owned the convention in Tampa." CNN analyst David Gergen: "If they have two more nights like this, they can probably break this race open." Fox News's Martha McCallum: "Very positive response here from the floor, and very enthusiastic from people listening to this." Fox News' Brit Hume: "Extremely impressive woman." MSNBC's Rachel Maddow: "Oh my god." MSNBC's Ed Schultz: "Tonight we were reintroduced to a star." CNN analyst Donna Brazille: "Love is in the air." The same Wolf Blitzer who sneered at Romney's wife. What a joke. I concede Obama is going to win. I like Obama enough in that he's a Sox fan. But my god, the man's four years were a joke. How bout at least mentioning that Michelle Obama's speech doesn't mean jack s*** because we already know who Barack is from four years in the office. The media bias amazes me. It was a good speech; it was not earth shattering. My god, Wolf. Ann Romney's speech sucked and Michelle's didn't. That doesn't make the media liberal, but they are dumb.

  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) I wish they had to drink before giving speeches. Reines Preibus clearly did before speaking at the RNC convention
  24. I notice that you failed to adequately fact-check their statement and assign the appropriate number of Pinocchios, pants-on-fires or some other childish measurement for lying!
  25. I just learned this interesting fact from the DNC: Obama good, Romney bad.
