  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 12:14 PM) Deep dish is so far and away better. I hate my pizza to crunch. It just isn't right. I don't even consider them the same food really. I like both but usually get thin-crust more often than not. I've heard that cutting the pizza into little squares is a very Chicago-style thing.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) This little place that Michael Scott knows... I could have gone with Jon Stewart's reaction to Donald Trump eating Familglia pizza with a fork and knife.
  3. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) that's straight blasphemy. remind me where you got it? i don't really wanna go back and look. But the place that I get it from up on 181st street - now that s*** is the real deal. Sbarro's
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) There is a big slab cone of meat spinning in the restaurant next door. I don't know what it is but I'm going to eat it all.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:55 AM) I know this is a Chicago-centric board and must of us live there or within close proximity, but come on, you cannot compare Chicago to New York. Chicago feels like one New York block in comparison, it's so small. I've never been to NYC but I flew into and out of Newark last month. It was a bright, clear day, so I got a great view of both the NYC and Chicago skylines. I couldn't believe the difference in size.
  6. Oh and LA is garbage. I'll never understand why people like that city. I've liked every part of California that I've ever visited except LA.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:10 AM) Yeah, I mean, the Oak Brook comment is laughable, and that's coming from a dude who lives 5 minutes from there. You can see and do everything in Oak Brook in one boring afternoon. You can see most of what Oak Brook offers in lots of other parts of the country anyway since it's mostly chain stores and restaurants.
  8. George Will with a good column on mandatory minimum sentencing and sentencing juveniles to life-without-parole. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/juv...FYWT_story.html
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 04:54 PM) Can someone explain to me why the hell fans care if these guys are trying to kill each other? I certainly don't. These assholes are getting paid bazillions of dollars (plus a pension) to play a violent game. Am I supposed to feel sorry for them? I don't get the faux outrage and I especially don't get the faux reaction from the NFL. If I were Goodell I'd be like, "look, it's a violent game, i'm not going to belittle our fans who basically could care less if these guys are injured (unless it screws up their chances at a championship, but even then it's not like we're upset that someone got seriously injured...that s*** happens every week). So, yeah it was a little unprofessional, and maybe Williams took it a LITTLE too far. But the death penalty? No, not even close." Simmons has this article where he's pleading for someone to draw the "line" to let him know what should be acceptable and what should not be acceptable. I say don't have a line. No holds bar (within the rules obviously). I have the same opinion about the sudden seriousness of concussions. You get what you pay for. These guys aren't dumb. They know it's a violent sport and it comes with risks. Hell, the first day of football for any kid in this country is a video about becoming paralyzed. Another ex-NFL player suffering from severe dementia killed himself. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7839981/...mmitted-suicide
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:57 PM) Of course I had to go to some kid's birthday party today with the wife and baby and was forced to get tickets for tomorrow's game instead. Daggummit! i was wondering if you were there.
  11. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) HUMBERLIEVEABLE
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) HE was flipping the bat thinking he walked when he turned and reacted to the ump calling him out. He then took off running once he realized he'd been called out. Pretty sure I also saw him throwing his helmet to the ground after AJ made the throw to first.
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:30 PM) He did why did he run if he didn't? He thought he was walked. So glad this was on FOX so that I was able to see (most) of it. I missed all of Buehrle's.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:29 PM) Haven't seen the side angle, but it was certainly not the worst call I've ever seen. Yeah, the ump isn't going to walk the 27th batter on a close check swing there. Can't believe Ryan was throwing a fit like that.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) Can't believe the ump called that a swing. I'd like to see a replay of that. Humber may have gotten the benefit of the doubt there, but if Ryan takes off running he may reach safely anyway.
  16. Can't ask for more drama at that last AB. My hands are shaking a little bit.
