  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) Taking a 4-12 and 9-7 team to two straight AFC championship games in his first two years (with Sanchez) isn't very impressive, I agree. But he loves feet!
  2. Crazy that Kemp has the season he had, IMO, he is the MVP, and Kershaw wins the CYY, and get they still were not in position to compete past July or so.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Based on this thread, I conclude that they stink and are very lucky . The thing about the NFL, at least in my opinion, is that the difference between being very good and being very bad is very little. The slightest of adjustments can make huge differences (just look at the Bears from week to week). The Niners have been building a talented team for the last 3-4 years. Only now are they determining the best way to fit all that talent together.
  4. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) Most people just assume they are 8-1 because of their division and don't realize they have played only 1 division game to date. Going 4-0 when traveling to the east coast is pretty darn good, no matter who the teams they play. And winning in Philly isn't often easy. Winning against NY was another big game. How about going to DET and winning? Both the Bears and the 49ers have each played 4 teams with winning records. Great posts. The Niners aren't flashy...but they're very solid. They're very 2005 Bears-ish...
  5. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) The Pack are just one Rodgers injury away from being average, their D gives up alot of pts and no way their back up QB comes in and does what Rodgers does...so let's give Rodgers a concussion in the next Bears/Packers game! I disagree with this. Flynn has come in a few times and has played quite well. They are certainly not the same without Rodgers (he is outstanding), but the rest of the weapons are still there. Part of the reasons for Rodgers success are certainly the incredible amount of weapons he has and Flynn would be able to take advantage of those (albeit not as skillfully) just as Rodgers does. I think even without Rodgers, they're still as good as any team I have seen in the NFL this year.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:57 AM) Making $130,000 a year by running a charity? That may be commonplace, but it sounds so wrong. They have to have talented people to operate the charity. In order to attract them, you have to pay the market rate.
  7. The Occupy Las Vegas people came and did a "friendly protest" at our building last week. Our company spent a few thousand dollars just to erect some fencing in spots to keep them from hassling employees too much. Yay Occupy movement. Meanwhile, they protested to invest in more green power and stop raising rates...
  8. QUOTE (MAX @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 04:15 AM) wow Yeah, had a good weekend, just missed the Giants game and obviously blew the Packers game last night.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) So Sanduskys lawyer impregnated a 17 year old client of his? Wow. What a team!
  10. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 11:43 PM) Guys, is Lovie Smith a very good coach? I'm afraid to believe he is, but I feel like he's converting me. He's an excellent coach. He's extremely solid at pregame preparation. His defensive theories are sound, and his teams always are in the upper echelon in the league in terms of takeaways. His issue is in-game coaching and making adjustments on the fly. He makes dumb challenges, he takes ill-timed timeouts, and his halftime adjustments often leave something to be desired. Overall though, I think he is one of the better coaches in the league.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:32 AM) No s***, but he's jacked. And I'm willing to bet that he's gotten some pretty decent training in martial arts, military training, and boxing from all of the roles he's been in. He's notorious for getting very into his roles. So now that I've explained why I think he'd probably destroy you, can you explain why you think you can "definitely" kick his ass other than him not really being Batman? Maybe the only movie he's seen him in was The Machinst
  12. QUOTE (lord chas @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:44 PM) Sandusky just burying himself wow. "I enjoy young people" Sicko He's already buried, is the problem. He has to say he enjoys being around young people. His only argument can be that he enjoys working with young kids and unfortunately, he is a bit naive and inappropriate in his behavior at times (unbeknownst to him). He's not going to fool anyone, but it's not like he can come out and say 10 kids are lying and all conspiring against him or something.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) I cannot help but think that Sandusky isnt doing himself any favors with that interview. Showered and touched and played around.....40 accounts of sexual attacks...8 victims named, more have come forward....yet you say you arent guilty. Sometimes shutting up is the better course of action It's obviously an act of desperation. He certainly isn't going to be able to claim he didn't shower with any of them. The only thing he can try to do is gray the line more between merely inappropriate conduct and egregiously criminal sexual acts.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) It's $18 million, and you know as well as I do that half the teams in the league will find a way to make that happen if he's available. There would clearly need to be rebuilding, but that's why they'll be having almost 3 first round picks this year. No it's not. It's $69 million for the first 3 years of the contract. $23 million a year.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) You have to trade 1 of them. I don't care that the new cap rules would make it possible to hold on to both. There is just too much value tied up in the qb position. Someone would empty 2 drafts for either of those guys, that would rebuild to Colts for 5 years. Who can absorb Peyton's $24 million salary or whatever though? And even though Peyton may be worth 10 wins to the Colts, that is only because their team is entirely built around him. Are they built well for a rookie QB? I don't know...they get away with having a small OLine because Peyton gets rid of the ball so quickly and because he can adjust the play at the line. They get away with having an undersized DLine because they play with the lead so much. I'm not sure their window with this current team is long enough for them to win with Andrew Luck.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) But he didn't. I mean, he was close to it, but he didn't. They expect you to lower your trajectory now...even if you lead with your shoulder, they don't want you hitting anyone in the head.
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 01:20 AM) Oh hey, Tony Romo had a pretty decent game I guess. He opened up 13 for 13 with 3 TD's or something... He's as good as anyone in the league when he's on...unfortunately he's as bad as anyone when he's not...
  18. Sweating this one out here...need a stand by the Pats defense here...
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Maybe I should clarify what I meant, the Bears didnt go to him at all in the second half when i thought they should have. I dont think any of those 6 passes were towards Bennett I was more disappointed with the way the offense played in the first half (outside of the first drive) than the second half. We should have been leading that game 31-6 or something at half. Lucky Stafford decided to throw it to our defensive backfield to open the second half or they could have made a game of it.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) However, in Stafford's defense, those Bears DBs were wide open. I wouldn't mind a Bears lineman "accidentally" "falling" on one of Suh's knees just to see if he's as willing to take it as much as he tries to give it. The one play where Suh pushed Cutler down about 4 seconds after he had thrown the ball was basically what kind of player he is in a nutshell. Granted, I'd love to have him on the Bears, but it was pretty funny hearing Billick try to defend him and then 2 minutes later he pulls something like that. I can't understand for the life of me why we didn't run any screens to Forte today. They were clearly selling out to fill the gaps we exploited in the Monday night game against them, but we never tried to punish them for their overpursuit today. Cutler didn't play particularly well today, but I still love how he is delivering the ball on those deep in routes...it's almost as if his arm was made for them. Gotta make sure we don't let down now heading into the AFC West games.
  21. Hit a 4-teamer for $1045 today on a $50 bet. Pressed $245 of it tonight on the Pats +125 and under 47.5 About damn time this NFL started making some sense.
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 05:03 AM) You know what, I'd stay away from this Cinci-Pitt game. I think the Bungles are for real but I actually think Pitt is going to win this game, I know that makes no sense but talk to me in the playoffs i guess? Hah, I meant what's your excuse for still being awake and on Soxtalk I have no real feeling on the Pitts/Cinci game...Pittsburgh is about a touchdown better in my opinion, so they should cover, but they've been turning the ball over far too much and the Bengals do not, so it might be closer than it should be. I'll pass on it.
