  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 05:52 AM) Tyler Flowers has a .197 career batting average and strikes out about as much as Adam Dunn. Its amazing how many people are even slightly excited about his future. He did post a .719 OPS this year though, which was 9 points lower than AJ and 31 points higher than AJ posted in 2010.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 04:56 AM) How fast his career went down the tubes? He won 50 games the 3 seasons after he left the Sox and pitched until he was 44 years old. Yeah you're right...I guess I blacked out his success after he left
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) Maybe I was too strict. Didn't count anything with wrestling, bowling, poker/cards, or pool. My list would have been much different if I had. Big fan of The Wrestler btw. The hell with the Wrestler...how about Marissa Tomei topless? I'm sorry, but comparing golf to bowling, skillwise, is ridiculous. What about Victory? Anyone list that? I didn't make a list, but a few of mine are Caddyshack, Miracle, Victory, Major League, The Program, and Breaking Away, and Rocky.
  4. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 12:34 AM) I would. I'd probably throw $50k on Texas, only because I would be pretty confident with Carpenter on the mound and Texas will probably be a bit of a dog anyways.
  5. QUOTE (Wanne @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) AJ's actually pretty good with the mike in front of the camera... I've enjoyed listening to him over a lot of the boneheads they run out there. Once they got him to stop that annoying hand gesture he was making every time he made a point before game 1 of the ALCS, he has been much better. Pretty funny that both Ozzie and AJ have been involved in the pregame stuff.
  6. I'm wondering if he'll hedge the game tomorrow by putting $100k on Texas...
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) Well where the hell were you to tell me this back than? Unfortunately I never saw them getting out of the NLDS
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) So my buddy just showed me his gambling ticket from September 12th when he put 10 dollars on the Cards to win it all... I've mentioned this a few times now...the books here have a ton of exposure on the Cardinals because their odds were so ridiculous at the beginning of Sept. There's some guy from St Louis who put $250 on the Cardinals to win both the NL and the WS. The NL was 500-1. He already cashed $125k there. The WS was 999-1. I think there are a ton of people who put between $10-100 on the Cards in the beginning of Sept when the odds were that long though.
  9. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:51 PM) Ron's decision to use holland was his worst, and one I was questioning hard at the time. Didn't cost them the game, but it might cost them the series. I'm pretty sure it was already decided that Harrison would start Game 7...so if he had already made up his mind about that, I don't see using Holland as a bad move.
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) Puckett. See you tomorrow night. Ahh...very cool.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) No doubt. No other game even comes close. I think Freese just wrapped up the MVP if the Cardinals win it, but they'd likely just go with the obvious guy in Pujols. I think you have to give it to Freese...
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) he's probably been sitting on that for a few years now. Didn't catch it... Did he use the Gibson home run call?
  13. And the Rangers wishing it had been called a ball as well...
  14. What a horses*** call on that 4th pitch. That was clearly a ball, 3-0 or not, ump.
  15. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) Yeah I agree, but cruz has done so much right. That's true, he carried them in the ALCS...but man, that was clearly a ball he should have caught. If you're going to say this game should be over because of something other than ineffective bullpen pitching, than it is Cruz's play much more than any strategical move which has impacted this game.
  16. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) I think I would have committed murder suicide. My target - Ron Washington. I think this is far more on Cruz than Washington.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:26 PM) or since the Rays comeback against the Yankees on the final night. DBacks?
  18. Almost hit the seam of the grass there, which would have been a crazy ending...
  19. Did Buck forget Garcia started this game? He just suggested he might pinch hit for Motte in the bottom of the 10th.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 10:53 PM) How are you not playing no doubles there? It was no doubles...he was just so afraid of the wall or so nervous about it possibly being the out to win the Series that he froze up. He had plenty of time to catch that ball.
  21. Wow, how anticlimactic... Joe Buck has done a nice job of disguising his Cardinals' bias this year. I thought earlier in his career the Fox golden boy it was a bit too evident.
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) I'm also fairly certain that the quote was recorded by a specialized microphone that muffles the sounds of otherwise deafening Twinkie devouring. He was actually brazen enough to come out and say it on his weekly radio appearance at the time. Kind of amazing how fast that guy's career went down the tubes.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Shack, of Texas holds on, then you were right about beltre being a good deal for texas. I was just thinking that myself.... How deflating for St Louis...
