  1. Another great outing by Humber...let's get him some damn runs now
  2. We're going to put up a crooked number this inning.
  3. Cots says Humber only has a year of service time...
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:28 PM) You sound like Ranger. JP sucks. He might spit out some weak singles and get his average up. But he's not good. I was thinking that as I posted that He's still going to be a .280-.290 hitter at the top of the lineup. You could do far worse. Financially and organizationally speaking though, he's not going to hurt us nearly as much as having Dunn/Rios struggle.
  5. Is it time to really start believing in Phil Humber yet? For as much as people are upset about losing Hudson, have we found his replacement basically in Humber? A middle of the rotation starter making practically nothing for the next few years?
  6. Ahh, right at him....have to capitalize on those threats, dadgummit.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:20 PM) Yep, except for the steals (oh, and the fact he's on pace for 20 errors). But yeah, he'll end up in the .280 range. He'll get going a little better on the basepaths, and he will remember how to catch the ball. As much as people want to b**** about Juan, he's not really going to be the problem with this team... It's going to come down to whether Dunn/Rios/Quentin hit like they are capable of hitting.
  8. QUOTE (soxsider11 @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) if hawks says dont stop now boys im turning the bulls game on There ya go!
  9. Juan's year is shaking up remarkably similar to last year...
  10. Happy Birthday Milk and Kyyle! Enjoy your day!
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 11:21 AM) It'd be really bad to have to use Sergio again today. Did Crain throw last night? Everyone threw last night.
  12. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 25, 2011 -> 12:13 PM) That's mind boggling, how do you go from Phil Jackson to Mike Brown? That's like going from a Ferrari to a Hyundai. Who wouldn't be though? There is not really anyone that is going to replace Phil.
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 25, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) I want him to try and do everything, I have NO problem with that. The problem I have with him right now, is he's afraid to go to the basket down the stretch. The dumbest f***in thing to try and do is shoot a f***in jump shot over a guy that's 5 inches taller than you. I really couldn't give a f*** if he takes every god damn shot in the 4th quarter but he needs to get back to attacking the rim, I'm not really sure when he's become so timid about doing so but it's pissing me off. His shots were blocked quite a bit in games 2 and 3 and you can tell LeBron is in his head now. I thought maybe he finally figured it out when he had those two dunks in quick succession last night...that maybe he would just start going stronger to the hole. But then he backed off again. Bottom line is, if the Heat are going to play this kind of defense on him, he needs to use his skills penetrating to dish more to guys in the lane for easy dunks. The Heat may be able to overplay his penetration, but they can't guard the dish too. Legler said it best, IMO...Deng and Boozer gave you 15-30 for 40 points last night and Noah had 6 assists and 14 boards. This was not a case of the Bulls just not having enough secondary scoring. It hasn't been all series. This has been a case of Rose having LeBron in his head since game 2. And LeBron is referring to him as "the MVP" now, rather than by name. That should piss him off.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Why isn't trading Buehrle a possibility? Can't he re-work his option if he's traded to a destination he wants to go to, like St. Louis? Also, it's hard to get mad at someone saying Dunn is a terrible baseball player this year. People have made so many excuses for him, but as an overall baseball player, he's worthless if he's not hitting home runs. I'm referring to the notion of trading all 4 of them, not just Mark. Dunn has been horrendous this year, there is no denying that. Stating that he is a terrible baseball player is incredibly oversimplistic and just stupid. Fine guys, you know what, you've ruined PHT for me with your incessant crying and whining. Every motherf***ing day after day after day with the same negative crybaby nonsense. I'll stay the hell away. Enjoy your misery.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) For me, if the Sox fail to make the playoffs this year, I think KW and Ozzie both need to go. KW's philosophy of neglecting the farm system and trying to patch up holes via trades looks to be running it course. As for Ozzie, he's better off going to Florida instead of managing a team that is looking to go a little younger. It doesn't matter how people on here view KW's moves the last few years...it's the results on the field that matter and three straight non-postseason teams with the huge payroll we've had should equate to front office changes. That's fine, Fathom. I respect that. What is hard for me to understand is the irresponsible posts that suggest contingencies which either 1) do not exist as possibilities, such as "trade Rios and Peavy and Dunn and Buehrle RIGHT NOW,"; 2) are clearly reactionary, such as "fire someone just so someone gets fired," and 3) blanket statements that are clearly a result of frustration but not based in any reality or fact, such as "Adam Dunn is a terrible baseball player." One or five times, I can handle this s***. Every goddamned day? It gets really, really old. Really f***ing old.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) You don't believe me? What does that mean? That I've had nothing better to do since 2003 then b**** about a team that I secretly hate? J, you're practically non-existent when the team is playing well. You seem to thrive when the team is not playing well. In fact, you have made it a point to mention this on several occasions.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 24, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) You really suck at reading comprehension. I'm saying that there have been enough brutal, punt millions upon millions of dollars worth of moves, that it's FINALLY caught up to him after I supported him his entire tenure. Stop being such a troll and read some posts. I don't know if you think you're communicating via osmosis, but the topic of your thread is the Official Alex Rios Suck thread, you've done nothing but make lists of poor signings, and the only signing you have mentioned in a non-negative light is the Adam Dunn signing. I don't think this is a reading comprehension issue as much as you not knowing how to respond to valid points, so you lash out like an 8 year old like you always have.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) Shack, you gotta cool it with that. Do you really believe Milk, fathom, caulfield, myself and so on have nothing better to do with our time? If we REALLY hated the White Sox and wanted them to lose just so we could b**** we'd be pretty pathetic. Pessimistic? No doubt. But we all love the team. Even when they suck. Which is quite often (by my standards) since 2005. Fair enough. I don't believe you, but this is one of your "The world is over, woe is me" threads, so I guess it's my own fault for coming in here.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) LOL. 1) That the Indians "choked" or collapsed 2) That the Indians were just another version of the 2003 Royals 3) That we were lucky the Twins are/were the worst team in the majors and that we didn't have to beat them head-to-head for the division title 4) That 85-88 wins wouldn't have been enough to win any other division in baseball 5) All-In still didn't work to draw in additional crowd support in April/May...thus depriving of us of additional revenue streams to add that "one, final piece" to put us over the top and make us a legit World Series contender 6) Even the kid from LITTLE BIG LEAGUE would win the AL Central occasionally having $128 million to spend on his roster Honestly, if this is what you guys all believe, what does that say about you when you are devoting this much of your life to a team you feel this way about?
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) The point is that he's done plenty to be fired, yes. At this point you're just stomping your feet and throwing a tantrum. You offer no real solutions other than change for the sake of change. You have proposed no plan for which this rebuild should occur. You've identified no takers for these salaries, no potential targets to trade our valuable chips for, and no timetable for which this should all occur. No amount of progress made is good enough, even when we've been unbeaten in 6 consecutive series' with over 110 games remaining. You b**** when we lose, you b**** when win. Have to love baseball fans...
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 24, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) Who cares? Adam Dunn WILL bust out of his funk; I don't think his lack of production over this month and a half should even be considered when we talk about firing Kenny. He's built himself quite the resume of failure, no need to add Dunn to his other very fireable offenses. So in your mind, there are no moves that show his competence, only those which are fireable offenses? This is getting laughable.
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) Yes, you can. You can especially blame the person when he's made quite a few bad moves and signings in the recent past. So what if this team were to win the division? What would your opinion be then?
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) And the obvious problem with dumping Rios (and it's moot due to its impossibility now) is that it once again shows the complete disaster which has been CF for the White Sox since the Aaron Rowand years. While never a huge Rowand fan, at least he was an average major leaguer or above for his time with us, especially considering his contract and age. We've gone through Brian Anderson, Mackowiak, Jerry Owens, Erstad, Swisher, Pods, Griffey, Wise and probably forgetting at least 2-3 more...not to mention trading Anthony Webster, Chris B. Young and Jeremy Reed. If nothing else, this development failure led to 2 other related fiascos..."reaching" for Alex Rios based on talent/potential alone AND having to trade for Juan Pierre at this stage in his career. I can't even remember the last time we really had a GOOD lead-off hitter over a long period of time. Maybe Lance Johnson or Tim Raines in his first couple of years with us, although he wasn't nearly the base-stealing threat he'd been at that point. Or Ray Durham. And now Mitchell has a LONG LONG path to get to the point where he's even Carl Crawford Lite. Rios was never just potential alone. The gamble you were taking was on his character/desire/consistency. The talent had manifested itself in actual production before, just not consistently. Regardless, I still think he's close...I'm not ready to call this a failure yet.
  24. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 24, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Me & some people are filming some videos of bands performing for use on a website. It will not be done without anybody's permission, but everybody just wants to cover their butts. Does this release look ok for such a thing? I found it on a free legal form site. Does something actually have to be exchanged to be considered good and valuable consideration? There will be no payments made. Any better suggestions?
