  1. Great read on the future of Hollywood. And all those terrible f***ing comic book movies. http://grantland.com/features/2014-hollywo...ses-box-office/
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) The Ingram one or the Jeffrey one? Jeffrey
  3. That bulls*** garbage TD knocked me out the championship game in my league. Went 12-2. Totally dominated. Knocked out on bulls***. f*** this team. I hope they all get hit by a truck.
  4. BENCH HIS ASS. For f***'s sake.

  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) I guess I don't see it, if you see what is really going on. Some of it on the surface yes, but the whole idea is there are dynamics behind each one, so you aren't just seeing that one "brain" behind each character. I liked it. Oh I enjoyed it too. But you have a woman and a man acting in stereotypical ways - the man is a big dumb moron that can't see what's right in front of him, and the woman is the overbearing/nagging one. To me that's funny because by and large that stuff is true for each gender. But it IS a kids movie and it IS perpetuating stereotypes. Seems right up some feminist/liberal alley.
  7. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 07:01 AM) Garner's death was also ruled a homicide and we all know what happened there. Means nothing. Justice doesn't exist in America. Lol. You crack me up.
  8. Groce is turning out to be a bust. I'm ready to go there. This is the same clogged toilet offense as Weber. Freaking terrible. Their non-conf was terrible.
  9. This is the same Illinois team as last year. Bubble team at best.
  10. They're in a better spot this year because they're so bad they'll be in the lottery. But they still don't have many picks in the upcoming seasons. And I don't see major FA like Gasol or Durant going there to play with Melo. It's going to be a looooong rebuild. Sometimes I feel bad for Knicks fans because they're the Bears of the NBA. But then I remember they're in New York and they're terrible, obnoxious fans, so it doesn't last long.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) Never been a big Mad Max fan, but the latest preview for that reboot looks pretty damn fun. Also, especially having daughters, I loved the preview for the new Pixar movie Inside Out. Looks fantastic. I'm surprised feminists aren't all up in arms about how it stereotypes the genders.
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 12:54 PM) bunch of cool SR-71 photos here: http://sploid.gizmodo.com/rare-high-defini...bird-1670184930 The cockpit controls look....simple.

  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 01:36 PM) Never thought that cutler would walk out of this situation looking like a pretty mature guy. All season long he has handled things very professionally from the media standpoint. Results have sucked for the team but he's remained extremely composed with the media and refused to throw anyone under the bus, even though privately, I am sure he is totally over this and fully on board of getting the heck out of Chicago. Except for not showing up on his radio show a few times and answering the critics. Oh, and he's had 6 season to practice the bulls*** press conferences and responses to why he sucks and the team sucks. He's become an expert at it.
  15. Why do players have to be protected and coddled so much? They're not doing their job, what's wrong with people talking about it, anonymous or not? How about the players reporting to Manningly anonymously that they think this is all fake and staged? Why not be a man and do it publicly?
  16. I don't know for sure obviously, but I have a hard time believing that the OC hasn't at some point told Jay to play better, that he's not playing good enough and that he's making mistakes. If he's not having those private conversations, that's a bigger problem than saying something to a reporter.
  17. It wasn't that much. It was ~20 million, which he could have gotten after one year and after an extension by any of the teams that wanted to sign him. It was 20 million guaranteed, but frankly you're signing a 100 million + contract on top of all of the other money he's made/makes/will make in endorsements. 20 million isn't an astronomical figure. And he probably gave up more money by signing that deal because with the next CBA the max contracts are all going to go up. His best bet would have been to sign a one year deal and decide this off season what to do. Now that's gambling that he doesn't suffer some career-ending injury, but what are the odds that happens?
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) Jenks I can't tell what do you think of Jay Cutler? He's my favorite!
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) Phil puts his name on it. This was anonymous. So the fact that he was anonymous is the problem? I would think that would be more acceptable since he's at least trying to keep it vague. People could have believed it was someone sitting at a desk in Halas Hall with those opinions.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) That's pretty funny if you think about it. Who was the person who said the tears were fake to Mannelly, who now happens to be a media member? Wouldn't he need to be cut immediately? Someone outed Kromer. Players as "sauces" is fine. If it is a coach. How dare he. Somehow Cutler is going to come out of this a sympathetic figure, even though he was called out by a Super Bowl QB saying the same thing during the game, and 95% of Bears fans agree that Cutler's contract is beyond stupid. Look at all the anonymous (sp) quotes from players today. If it is such a bad thing, why is it OK for them to do it? It is a mess. If this helps getting everyone to go, then Kromer did us all a favor. I still can't believe the pass that he's been given this year. s***, the last 6 years. On to the next set of coaches, and when they suck next year of course it's the coaches and the system and not the guy with the f'n ball in his hands the majority of the game.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) That's not exactly a strong way to start off the interviewing process. He'll have no problem finding a job in the league. I'm sure he's already talked about his options. There is literally no reason that he outed himself unless he wants out and has something else lined up already. Even if players saw him talking to a reporter, who cares? Guys talk to reporters all the time.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 12:47 PM) If you feel that way, tell that QB that, bench the QB, I don't really care. Have a press conference and say we need to get better QB play, better in-play reads, whatever. Yeah, you'll take some heat for it, but at least everyone is on the same page. Doing what he did was downright pathetic. This is the type of stuff that you see in only the most pathetic organizations. Ownership better figure out that this needs to change all the way at the top. It starts with bring in a football CEO who has total control. I hope it ends with Harbaugh as the head coach but right now I just want a legit guy running this organization from the top. Seems Polian isn't interested and I know Holmgren had his issues but I'd be looking at those type of people to see what can be done or try and throw a bunch of money at Ozzie Newsome in Baltimore for a promotion of sorts or other places around the league who have had long-term sustained success. Bottom line...massive changes in the organization are needed. Until than, I think things are so bad it is even hard to evaluate some of the players. So you think a coach like Phil Jackson is pathetic? He and several other hall of fame caliber coaches/managers have used the media in this exact way. I honestly don't see a problem with anything that this guy did or said, except for apologizing for it. What did he say that was so awful? What did he say publicly that he hasn't told Jay privately 100 times?
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) Pat Mannelly indicates that players believe Kromer's tears were forced / fake. Upon hearing this news I thought (1) Why the f*** apologize for telling the truth? (2) Why out yourself when no one would have found out. (3) He's looking to get fired and out of Dodge as fast as possible.
  24. Also, LOL at Melo. He's all about winning, remember?
  25. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) Bulls couldn't fit him in the salary unless we trade both Taj and Mirotic. Who the f*** would do that Well one other way, Rose for Melo. It'd be shocking, but I wouldn't say I didn't see it coming. Do they have to match salaries if they're willing to pay the tax? I'd give up McDermott, Snell and some draft picks for him. http://nypost.com/2014/12/12/carmelo-antho...-clause-source/ Although there is this: I would think that would make him nearly untradeable.
