  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 07:33 PM) Chris Bosh is reportedly finalizing an agreement to return to Miami on a five-year deal worth $118 million. Wow, looks like Bosh is going to remain loyal to Pat Riley. If Bosh had elected to sign with Houston he would have been leaving $32 million on the table, so perhaps there was a bit of financial incentive at play here. Miami has a lot of cap space, and they can bring in another high-profile free agent to play alongside Bosh and Dwyane Wade. Bosh will now take on a much larger burden with shouldering the offensive workload in Miami, and he could be in for a fantastic fantasy season. Jul 11 Source: Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter Who? Superstar/max players don't grow on trees.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 05:21 PM) Haters going to hate. And I think that is ultimately why Lebron is going back to Cleveland. He learned that no matter what the media/etc is never going to be placated. That they will harp on him if he wins or loses. So he might as well go to the 1 place where (at least before the decision) he was beloved. Cleveland always had his back, Miami not so much. So when the hate comes, he knows that hell always have his hometown support. Miami could never offer that. What are you talking about? Cleveland fans turned on him immediately when he left. And they were doing it when he wasn't winning too.

  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:17 PM) I get what you are saying, but using the word awful for 70% is a bit extreme IMO. I would more characterize the majority of it as hard work, not awfulness. Ha, yes i'm being a bit facetious. It's just a lot of work having a kid. I enjoy the hell out of it, but it's work. And it's sometimes tiring/annoying/frustrating, etc. etc., but at the end of the day you take all that and ignore it (or have amnesia about it, like how my wife and I managed to get through the first 6 months as functional people). Because the cool parts are REALLY cool. Like you said, when they first start saying daddy or they want a hug because they're scared, etc. your heart melts and it makes it all worth it.
  5. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) And she got pissed that I confronted him via text and told him their thing was over. She said she should have been the one to call it off. That's f***ed up that she'd the one getting pissed. She should be begging you not to kick her out of the house and take the kids.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 03:59 PM) Re: "honeyshot girl," she said something stupid and her prospective employer decided that the only reason they hired her (her popularity) was no longer relevant. This is particularly true in Europe where folks are a bit less gung ho about the hunting (if I understand correctly, she was going to hook up with L'Oreal Belgium). This is why most parents don't feel super comfortable with their children becoming public figures...because they're children. Public figures are accountable for what they say and do in a way that exceeds normal social relations. The people we should be mad at are the people who like to ogle at young women with the benefit of a long-range camera lens and the assholes who make it their mission to distribute these images and then try to crowdsource the ogled person's identity. What the hell kind of society does that? There was also the "Don't vote for the homo, vote for Cuomo" campaign back in the 70s Bulls***. She was hired to have her picture taken, not talk about the days current events. They FEARED the wrath of people who were "offended" and who showed faux-outrage over a dumb World Cup trash talk post. And men. Men do that. Because the vast majority of men in this world are attracted to pretty women. That's why it's done, and that's why it's popular. And if you're a hetersexual man, you too have found it enjoyable to look at a pretty face in the crowd at some point in your life. It's the same reason TheBigLead starts of every day with a post featuring a pretty woman. It's enjoyable. I, for one, applaud them. And hell, this chick got a modeling contract out of it. Katherine Webb got a career out of it. No one gets hurt, so what's the issue with it?
  7. So, I take it Melo is going decide tomorrow (or over the weekend) so that he doesn't have to share the day with Lebron?
  8. Brian Windhorst ‏@WindhorstESPN 3m what a hero! #gag
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:19 PM) Twitter says espn is talking about bulls getting wade So bye bye Butler and Mirotic? I think i'd rather have mirotic and the potential over one, maybe 2 years of Wade.

  11. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:33 PM) Well considering Bosh is going to get big money from Houston and Wade will just resign with the Heat which will almost surely be for as much money as he left behind, I dont see how anyone is screwed here. You're right on Bosh (which is why I didn't include him). Miami would be moronic to sign Wade to a 2 year, 42 million dollar (or more likely what he was promised, 3 years 50 something) for a s***ty team that's not going to win. Wade got f***ed here. Haslem gave up a 4-5 million contract and he'll be out of the league now. True, Riley and Miami could still pay them if they're honorable people, but it's not guarantee they will.
  12. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:30 PM) Sorry I don't buy that, you would have to be incredibly foolish to opt out of that kind of money without a guarantee. Unless a report comes out soon that says LeBron gave his commitment to come back and then changed his mind, there is no one to blame but themselves. Right, they would be foolish. But they did it anyway, because they were probably under the impression that he was coming back and they all wanted to restructure their deals.
  13. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:03 PM) Unless LeBron said "im resigning with the Heat go ahead an opt out" no one was "f***ed" here.. they made their own decisions There's no chance those guys opt out if they don't believe Lebron is basically a lock to come back. He had to have said, i'm most likely staying with the Heat, you guys should opt out. Hell, the Cleveland rumors didn't even start until a week ago, well after they opted out.
  14. Love that people are praising Lebron for doing the "right" thing, despite the fact that he allowed his "friends" to opt out of a s***load of guaranteed money. Bosh is still going to get his, but Wade and Haslem just got royally f***ed.
  15. Here you go Alpha, another example: http://guyism.com/sports/axelle-despiegela...l-facebook.html People are too damned sensitive.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 09:26 AM) How are there reports that sign and trades are no go when other reports say no attempts have been made between Phil and Bulls. Cowley is talking out of his ass. From what I can tell it's all based on the fact that Phil/NY said they had no interest in taking Boozer. Like 2 weeks ago. From there it's been assumed that that means no S&T at all. Which as I've said before, is exactly what Phil needs to say until Melo actually tells them what he wants to do.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:21 PM) And then you pick them up from school and they run to you screaming "Daddy! Daddy" and all is forgotten. Yep. I tell people parenting is 70% awful, 30% amazing. But the 30% outweighs the 70% easily.
  18. And he'll get crushed for causing another PR disaster. He needed some source to temper the excitement of him possibly going back.
  19. Cowley -One NBA insider just said that he's not buying Melo's anguish, and wrote it all off as "the guy just doesn't want to be hated.''
  20. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) The specifics of her story don't even matter. it is the specifics of the responses to it. And I am not even talking about that cesspool known as twitter, where anyone with a remotely similar name has been getting death threats. Oh for sure, I agree with you.
  21. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) This story right here is what is wrong with American politics in general and liberal politics specifically. This guy should be ashamed of himself. Especially if he has a daughter. But instead, he probably is proud of himself for being a good little liberal warrior. These politics of personal destruction are going to kill us all. You don't have to agree with someone's beliefs, actions, etc., but this constant trying to get people fired or worse is just wrong. Imagine if a Democrat had said this? OMG!!! WAR ON WOMEN!!!! MYSIGNO-WHATEVER-IST!!!! HE SHOULD RESIGN AND LOSE HIS PENSION!!!! Yes, I think this guy probably should resign, but I am not going to start a petition or twitter war about it. If he has no problem trying to get porn about a 17 year old, who knows what he can do. At the very least, I hope his next opponents bring this up at every stop and he never makes it into office. http://freebeacon.com/politics/left-wing-l...ollege-student/ If you believe her, some of the animals are sedated because she's traveling with a vet or park ranger. The animals that are actually dead were killed for population control purposes or she paid a pretty handsome price to do it (the money going back to preserving the conservation area). edit: I read the story wrong. She does hunt them for sport too. On a related note, I remember a 60 minutes special on that "defense" of hunting and they looked at a booming business in Texas where people were paying tens of thousands of dollars to hunt exotic animals that were brought over from Africa. In Texas their numbers are thriving because of the value that is placed on their heads. In Africa they're dying off and/or non-existent now.
  22. Enjoy it when he/she turns 2. Holy crap what a trying time as a first-time parent (going through it right now).
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Could this be the tail wagging the dog? Maybe Lebron gets caught up in "the return" hysteria and goes back to Cleveland even if he really wasnt planning that to start. He has to be questioning whether he can actually win in Miami. Wade is regressing terribly, they don't have the money to add anything significant, and HOPEFULLY Rose is actually back and Chicago can be a legit contender again. The 2nd best team in the East hasn't played to full strength in 3 of the last 4 years.
