I'm hoping to get a few of my friends to join so we can play in a small group and explore together. That's where this game could be a huge success - a Left 4 Dead meets Borderlands meets an MMO.

The Hassan incident is simultaneously a workplace violence incident (it isn't something either-or, or zero-sum) because he exhibited certain indicators before he went on his shooting spree. Wait, what? You're saying if a black person committed a crime against a white person solely because he's white, that wouldn't be a hate crime? That he'd have to be part of some bigger group? I'm not aware of any requirement that you have to belong to an "organized element" to be guilty of a hate crime. The only requirement is that you commit a crime motivated by race.

I call BS on this. The debt ceiling stuff ended because the deadline passed and the parties came to an agreement. IIRC that happened in July-August 2011 and the occupy stuff didn't start until a month or two after that. The conversation had already ended by that point.

Interested. I'm a history buff that rewatches Ken Burns' Civil War every few years. When I was like 12 my parents and I hopped into our RV and hit up a lot of the battlefield sites over a couple of summers (Gettysburg, Vicksburg, etc). That is an awesome experience that I hope to do again with my own kid(s).

Don't think I've ever seen a photography thread on this board. I'm in need of some advice for anyone else out there that dabbles in the endless money pit of digital photography. I've had a Nikon D5000 for a few years and bought a couple extra lenses which have worked well. With a new baby i'm noticing more and more the need for some kind of bounce flash to get good indoor shots. I'm looking at the SB 400, which can be had for about $120 on Amazon or the SB 700 which is about $330 on Amazon. A big step up in options - the ability to swivel and bounce the flash even when taking a vertical shot, as well as the ability to manually (and automatically) adjust the power of the flash. Obviously $200 bucks is quite the step up for those features. Anyone buy a flash recently and have any thoughts? I know there are off brands of this stuff too. Not sure if anyone has experience with those. Thanks!
