To be clear, this guy is arguing that it's Edgar's fault because he started the kick-the-can-down-the-road option that two subsequent democratic governors followed. And it's his fault alone, even though he admits that 60% of the problem is systematic, problems that Edgar had nothing to do with. But yeah, totally Edgar's fault.

I don't have a problem with that in theory but at some point the membership of the House would get so big it would be problematic.

But the fundamental issue remains the same - small states (rural areas) will be substantially disadvantaged and underrepresented. If anything this "problem" highlights why the federal government has far too much power in our system. The federal government should be governing our collective concerns (foreign relations, immigration, defense, etc.) but little else.

So when the state gets worse and taxes increase we can blame Republicans, right? I think JB is going to be a disaster. Rauner was too, but he at least attempted to push back against Madigan (failing miserably and hurting the state in the process). Regardless, this state is fucked until Madigan dies.

Dead people get voted into office all the time. People in this country are generally stupid and both parties take advantage of that.

I would bet a lot of those votes are people who voted party line without thinking about (or even knowing) who he was.

I think the 30-40% are influenced by those talk shows and other "progressive" influenced tv shows and movies more than a few select religious movies made for a specific group of people. I'm not saying there isn't a sizeable conservative base, there clearly is, but on a "coverage" standpoint the "media" is overwhelmingly left. And I think there's a cumulative affect with those talk shows, just like with 24/7 cable tv news networks. You don't get facts, you don't get a deep analysis, you get a few minutes of commentary and jokes. And unless you're invested in the topic you're not going to go look up the actual facts or look up the arguments for/against a given issue.

I think you're right on the news "media" side of things, however, it's pretty clear Hollywood and entertainment generally is dominated almost exclusively by the left. Talk shows, for example, are exclusively left and attack Trump on a nightly basis. Having said that, he deserves 99% of the criticism since he is an awful human being.

The Bears of the last 5 seasons were not one or two plays away from any good record. They were getting blown out. This year their three losses have come at the end of games and within one score.

They're a Kyle Fuller dropped interception and a 5 foot wide FG from bring 5-1, with their one loss being a pretty fluky game against the best QB ever. I'd say they've overachieved in just about every way this season and if they remain in the playoff hunt and get to 8-10 wins this season is a miraculous improvement.
