  1. Apparently Nunn was just in court on Tuesday and was sentenced to 12 months probation and 100 hours of community service for driving on a suspended license. So if this is a legit charge he'll get hit with a decent sentence. Goodbye Nunn and goodbye chances of a tournament bid next year. Sucks for Groce. Not his fault his players are dumbasses, But in addition to his s*** job coaching, he's responsible when 1/3rd of his roster gets arrested. Good riddance. Hopefully Whitman moves quickly. Throw cash at Bryce Drew please.
  2. I grabbed it last weekend. Probably have about 10 hours into it and i'm level 10ish. I like the missions (though don't do what I did and waste and hour or two trying to solo a level 8 recommended mission at level 6...), but I agreed with a lot of the IGN review....it's not exactly an exciting environment. There's not enough random stuff that happens when running from place to place. And I can see how grinding for another 20 hours to get to level 30 is going to become a little boring since the AI is very repetitive. Still, the missions are fun so far, the customization on weapons is fun. I like building up the various wings in the base. I just wish there was more random AI interference in the non-dark zone areas. I haven't gone to the dark zone yet. Are you supposed to if you're low level? Or will you just get picked off immediately?
  3. Lol, i've seen that about 20 times and still laugh
  4. Can I change mine to JenksIsMyHero? Thanks.
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:01 AM) The Avery place is a ways out of Manitowac. It's over on a country road in Mishicot probably about 20-30 minutes from Manitowoc proper. The Courthouse Pub in downtown Manitowoc is pretty good. If you're up closer to Two Rivers, Kurtz is a decent German restaurant that sometimes has dry-rubbed ribs. Looks like i'll be right downtown by the river. I might check out the courthouse pub. Thanks. edit: oof, yeah, it's like 25 miles north and out of the way. Not sure a photo of the sign is worth 50 miles.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) Who have you got? I have Kansas, Michigan State, North Carolina and OU, with Michigan State beating Kansas. Same.
  7. So I have to travel up to Manitowac for a deposition next week. I think i'm going to try and get a photo of the Avery sign and drive around to see what the town/area is like.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) Thanks All, very excited. Should pop out in late September. Lol, rule #1, don't say stuff like this in front of your wife Congrats!
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) Man that's a lot of hand waving and not addressing anything. You're right, these conversations go nowhere because you've deluded yourself on issue after issue and incident after incident when it concerns trump. Paying attention to trumps s***ty racial politics is "being played", ok. Eta a search of the last page doesn't show any comments on birtherism I don't agree with B>W or his support of Trump, but Christ if this isn't just a typical SS post here. "You don't agree with me therefore you're a deluded irrational moron!" Just call him a bigot and we can all go home.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) 1/5? Come on man, Noah was on one leg, Taj was out for long periods of time for his ankle, Dunleavy was out for like 3 months, Butler hyperextended his elbow and missed more than a month Your argument is tired, bad, and wrong And this year you've had no Noah, Dunleavy out for months, Butler out for an extended period (and now with residual issues potentially), Gasol, Rose and Taj out here and there, Niko out a month. They're relying on guys like Moore and Holiday. How many times has Hoiberg had the expected starting 5 going into the season? A handful? Thibs got wins because he ground it out. Fine, i'm not arguing that. But was that team any better? No. Did he do some amazing coaching job? No. Did he deserve to be fired? Yes.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) Correct, because both coaches dealt with them Losing 3/5th's of your starting line-up (plus your 6th man) is more difficult than 1/5th, IMO.
  12. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) Yep, and it really went awry once the Bulls FO basically told the players they could act insubordinate and to answer to Jen Swanson when it came to minutes and not Thibs. The FO basically told the players its OK to undermine him because he wouldn't be there past the year anyway. What they didn't account for is that you can't tell players its OK to undermine a coach, then immediately respect the next one. I 100% agreed on the minutes move by the front office. Those are your assets. I'm sure they told Thibs repeatedly to stop, and he didn't, so they had to move. Who remembers Noah playing like 45 minutes in a meaningless, final regular season game? It was that s*** that drove the FO crazy and something Thibs never EVER bent on. That whole situation was a two way street and few people acknowledge Thibs' role in it.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 02:06 PM) That f***ing train wreck won 50 games, this current f***ing train wreck looks like it will be lucky to break 40 Injuries have nothing to do with that.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) McDermott sucked and then got hurt. Now you are saying Thibs won too many games? Were they trying to win a championship or not? For a guy who tells everyone how wrong they are, reading your fiction time and time again is beyond hysterical. Blaming injuries on Thibs is a joke. They were hurt before he came, they keep getting hurt after he left. You think Gar has to go, but you fell for his Thibs narrative hook, line and sinker. There would have been no reason to fire Thibs if the Bulls did the correct thing and launched Gar instead. The team would be better off. Nope. This team was a f***ing train wreck against a broken Cleveland team. They sucked under Thibs that last year. He lost the locker room. Blame that on Gar, I guess, but it's still a fact. It wasn't going to work going forward whether Gar was there or not. It was time for a change.
  15. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) If he were the coach you thought he was, he wouldn't be unemployed this year. If he were that good of a coach, the Kings would have already made a move. "Execs" actions speak louder than their words. No top 5 coach would remain unemployed for an entire season. The fact is, they're scared of his awful minute management. Turn off ESPN for a while and use your brain. Or just watch basketball. The dude's a genius and innovator when it comes to defense, but his offensive philosophy/abilities were garbage. And frankly his substitution/roster management wasn't very good either. I don't know how many times he'd put in Hinrich over Moore in the 4th as the lead was slipping away. He was too loyal and/or afraid of change. I think the guy's a really good NBA coach. Maybe top 10-15. But with this roster and franchise, it just wasn't working anymore. I still have zero problem with the decision. It was the execution that deserves criticism.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 11:22 AM) His joke is that Sanders America would be bankrupt ala Chicago. I'm on only a phone today but Jenks, I'm talking about how Nixon used EOP to force fib surveillance on enemies, IRS auditing on enemies and more. Kind of like how today Trump is making the standard that his violent white supremacist supporters will not face consequences for violent actions. Sure, but in terms of the country and policies that affect everyday Americans, there's not much he can do. Remember, you're the one telling me the President can't act unilaterally without Congress or even the SC stepping in. The guy's a terrible person and an even worse candidate, but I'm just not terrified of him royally screwing things up. I just don't think that's possible in our system.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Oh. That's not really a good response to "what made Nixon a bad president". I don't know what you mean by that. Are you comparing egos?
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) I wish it was like the old days when we could rough up protesters and send them outta here on stretchers! Protesting is part of political speech, Trump canceled his rally because he's a coward. You are delusional. What is Trump worried about? He's surrounded by secret service and goes from the door of his helicopter to a car to the arena. And you'd be b****ing if he went through with it and someone got stabbed or shot. I have no problem with people protesting. I'd be right there with them. But it became violent. People became assholes. It crossed a line. Whether he asked for it or deserved it is immaterial.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) I believe more "Washington people" on your side have endorsed Trump than Cruz at this point. Unless of course you mean the population of the city itself, not the "political class". Yeah but that's right now, as an anti-Hillary, i'll support the Republican nominee-type endorsement. It remains to be seen if they'll sponsor/vote for nonsense like deporting all Muslims.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) If Chicago could get over its Napoleon complex, people would come to realize that ketchup is good on a hot dog. It's people who put ketchup as the extra ingredient on the traditional chicago style hot dog that are the monsters. You don't mess with a perfect recipe.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) There's no way he should be around now. The only reason he's around is that Whitman correctly understands that 2017 is a huge opportunity and Groce, unfortunately, is the only one building those relationships. If you get rid of him now you miss out and the program goes deeper in the hole. The hope around the department is that he pulls in a good class and then Illinois can still get rid of him if he sucks next year. I don't think this incident - which is on the player, not the coach - changes those plans in anyway.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 09:19 AM) Do you know what made Nixon a terrible president? Policy so obviously unworkable and bad is extraordinarily difficult to get done. Using your power to settle bets, create a cult of personality and eliminate opposition is so much worse than bad policy. I find it very difficult to believe Trump could find any support in Washington. Everyone dislikes him.
  23. I don't disagree with you guys, he got what he asked for. But I still think it's incredibly sad that a moron like Trump camp be defeated with reason and logic and we have to resort to violence. I know it was pretty minimal violence, but still.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Police disagree, and trump clearly lied and was scared off by protesters. Not sure how tough of a leader he'd be. You seem to be happy that violence and threats to security disrupted our political process.
