  1. Not very for either side because I don’t see the Orioles trading Westburg and I think the Sox want one of the two premium prospects to be a pitcher.
  2. That’s what I’m expecting too. anything short of that would indeed be underwhelming.
  3. But you’re assuming he gets hurt? Why? Where’s the third option in which he pitches decently well in the first half of the season and they trade him in July?
  4. But you didn’t answer the question. I listed a package that I would consider an “underwhelming” package. You’d accept it anyways? personally, I’d be more disappointed if they accepted something like that versus him being on the opening day roster.
  5. So if you’re offered Ortiz+Povich+Beavers, you’re taking it? Not me. It’s likely all three fail to become even average mlb regulars. So to me that’s not “cashing in” and I’m taking my chances by waiting.
  6. Right. I think when he says “fill-ins” it’s a teams #5-15 prospects, depending on the strength of the farm system. Not top 100 mlb prospects but not complete long shots either.
  7. Not me. I’d rather hold him if the Orioles are only offering one premium prospect (Kjerstad/Cowser for example) and then two or three fringe prospects.
  8. But yes, I could see the orioles having already offered something like Kjerstad + Beavers + Povich and Getz asking for one more high end prospect like Cowser to add to the mix, which the Orioles are balking at. That makes sense to me.
  9. It depends how you define “fill-ins.” Could mean a lot of different things. Some may interpret that as anyone outside the mlb top 100 (Povich, beavers, etc. meet this criteria) while others may interpret this as complete lotto prospects that don’t even show up on a team’s top 30 (I don’t think he meant that).
  10. Bears have a lot more “quality” with their 2024 picks, meaning they’re higher but the Packers are expected to have 14 draft picks after they receive comp picks for Lazard, Reed, and Lowry. They are currently starting 6 guys from the 2023 draft and a few others are getting serious reps. I’m guessing most of their oldest veterans are all gone after this season - Bahktiari, Owens, Dillon, Campbell, Savage. Maybe they keep Aaron Jones (they’ll draft at least one RB in 2024, probably even 2 or 3 with all the picks they have). There’s a very good chance the Packers get even YOUNGER and cheaper next season…
  11. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/sep/30/the-green-bay-packers-where-fans-rather-than-a-billionaire-are-the-owners This is an interesting article I stumbled across a few months ago. It's a really interesting topic. And one question I asked after reading this: is the packers success on the field largely a function of this community based non-profit ownership? Because the fans are the owners and the thing they prioritize most is winning. The thing that many owners like Reinsdorf prioritize is profits, which rarely aligns with winning. I know which model I prefer as a fan!
  12. Oh they’re screwed for the next decade. That’s why Tepper is cleaning house.
  13. Crazy to see SF that high. Lynch is a genius.
  14. Couldn’t they easily move Schmidt to the long relief/6th starter role? That seems like an obvious move regardless because he’s pretty meh.
  15. Rodon is a great #2 if healthy but not sure how you can count on that at this point.
  16. It’s not a bad rotation if Rodon regains his 2022 form but asking for that is a far far bigger maybe than Cease regaining his 2022 form.
  17. Fathom, our Orioles friends want to know which list had Ortiz out of the top 100. I can’t wait for the updated mlb list to come out so we can shove it in Rolle Tide’s face when he realizes Ortiz is no longer the #50 mlb prospect that he loved to reference in every post lol
  18. Looks like it’s Snell or bust if the Yankees are going to add an impact arm via free agency.
  19. Wait, Madrigal 2.0 fell out of the top 100? No way! But what about those incredible EVs he had in AAA???
  20. And yet the Rays would find a way to win 90 games with this roster
  21. I generally agree with this, which is why I like the top two of Jones/Hampton better than the top two of Cowser/Ortiz that seems to be the most popular proposal being floated by Orioles fans.
  22. Wow, that’s actually pretty shocking. Do I need to do a deep dive into the Giants’ farm system next?
  23. FWIW, most Yankees fans would be livid if they traded Jones. Probably in the same way Orioles fans would be pissed if they traded Mayo.
  24. I don’t think Rutherford ever hit a ball this hard in his life
  25. Hopefully the Angels are looking elsewhere as in Snell
