  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) well not everyone. Hinrich went from funny to hate, to being legitimately god awful. Taj really stepped back and has been injured, and Noah took way longer to get good this year than normal. Even if Kirk had a good year he still wouldnt effect the future outlook of the team. Taj was injured and thats a major part of him taking a step back. I still consider him a piece though.
  2. At this point in the season I cant help but be happy with the development and maturation of everyone other than Rose. We really had no idea that we had a max contract all-star in Butler or a bonafide all-star in Mirotic. If we thought it was a possibility we wouldnt have said it was a strong one. This basically alters the way we will think of this team for years to come. If these two didnt play out of their minds this year imagine how down we would be on this team. We would want the whole thing blown up no matter what happens in the playoffs.
  3. Bear fans wanted Marshall off the team because he had a negative impact on the team chemistry and locker room. Not because he had a history of violence towards women. McDonald will be welcomed with open arms if he plays well on the field and isnt a douchebag in the locker room. Fans care about winning primarily and are willing to except bad guys on their team if they win. Maybe not ALL fans but the majority would say this is true deep down.
  4. Perfectly timed photo of Micah making that error.
  5. Are you guys disliking a McDonald signing because of his off the field stuff or the on the field play?

  7. Are there any catching prospects that might be a possibility worthy of our first round pick? It would be nice to have one of those.
  8. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 20, 2015 -> 05:04 PM) Micah just stole second. What amazing acceleration. Just Wow!!!! There is a possibility that he may wind up being more of an offense disruption for opposing teams this year than Eaton.
  9. Sounds good to me. Would have liked to see him play a full season healthy before doing it but I am confident it will workout.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) theScore ‏@theScore 8h8 hours ago Will Ferrell's 10 team Cactus League tour? Yeah, it raised $1 million for cancer research. http://thesco.re/1BwsR2I That is awesome. I love him even more now.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 01:34 PM) Haha, what neighborhood is it in? This particular person already owns a building in our kind of odd little neighborhood that is sandwiched between Bucktown and Lincoln Park. We're just south of that horrible Fullerton/Damen/Elston intersection, but they are finally starting to rebuild it (Elston is actually being re-routed around it), and suddenly the investors are all bullish on the area. I think he's focused there. Hyde Park. We just hired a property management agency to take over everything. We haven't had a good experience but mostly because of the other owners who actually live in the building. They always have issues and half of them don't pay their association dues. The ones that don't pay have will call us (since my wife was the treasurer) and try to get the the condo association management company to not put them in collections for being so far behind. Its really a headache and pretty much a property we wont be able to sell for another couple years until we can get value. Even though we moved away two years ago AND we recently hired the PMA other owners still try contacting us and getting us involved. We had to tell them DONT CALL US ANYMORE.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) Finally selling our condo in the city, and it's a pretty unusual deal. We had the middle unit in a semi-typical three-unit Bucktown single-lot building (a duplex down, and two single-floor units). Had been renting out our unit for a few years, but current lease ended at the end of Feb and we wanted to sell now. Investor made us an offer on our place, but wanted to buy the whole building, so he wrote us a conditional offer: $1000 down in exchange for a two week negotiating window with the other units, and we keep the thousand if he doesn't close the deal. I contacted the other two units. The duplex down had been trying to sell on and off, so she got an offer and took it too, with a closing target in June when her current renters are out. The third floor unit was owner-occupied, and hadn't said anything about wanting to sell, but they ended up deciding to go for it too, with a lease-back for six months while they look for a house (turns out they'd been debating it anyway). Inspections are underway now, we get first close, hopefully early April. Bonus: its a cash offer, so commission is sale-side only, we save probably $8000 in commission costs. Hope this all works! Wow, very nice how all the pieces are falling into place for that. I need that investors name so I can contact him to buy all the units in the condo that we rent out LOL. Tired of dealing with that property and the tenant.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) $12.5 million has a way of changing one's mind. Well he has no choice no matter how much they are going to pay him if they dont trade or cut him and I dont see any of those two things happening.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) was KC a 4-3 defense when Allen was there? I could have sworn they have been 3-4 forever I am pretty sure it was 4-3 when he was there. I heard from two different reports that he has never been in a 3-4 defense unless they were both wrong.
  15. What is even worse about it is Allen has apparently been vocal in the past about not wanting to ever play in a 3-4. He knows he doesnt fit that scheme and now he is going to be asked to try to fit in probably the last year of his career. I dont see how this works out with for him.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) Soler and Bryant have the chance to be MVP caliber players...yikes It appears....but once the curse kicks in....
  17. I get the feeling Chip Kelly is booking himself a ticket back to college football. LOL
  18. I think its completely unreasonable to have the expectations that the Bears are playoff contenders next season. They just came out of one of the worst run regimes in recent history. They were historically bad. It is going to take some time to build this thing back up again and its not going to happen in one off season. The coaches the Bears have now are some of the best I believe in the NFL but they arent going to be miracle workers. There is only so much that can be done with a roster that has just begun to be built from the ground up.
  19. I like their methodical approach to FA as well. he at least understands that you don't build championships through FA with guns blazing. You add parts here and there through FA but ultimately it can only been done through the draft. I still hope he is able to aquire some more draft picks somehow though but there just isnt much he can offer that can bring a pick in return.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) But Dan Bernstein's sources........... Does Bernstein ever get called out for his garbage or does it just go away? He always finds a way to make it sound like his sources were still right but X happened so it changed.
  21. QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) Jeff Dickerson ‏@ESPNChiBears 16m16 minutes ago Pace continues to insist the #Bears never explored trading Jay Cutler. Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 16m16 minutes ago On Jay Cutler: I spoke with as many QB-needy teams as I could to see if #Bears GM Ryan Pace tried to trade Cutler. None said he did. Mort said the same thing on Carmen and Silvy (or whatever show is on AM1000 around 11) this morning. Didn't even try to trade him. I dont know if I buy that but even if that's the case I thought there would be teams that would have approached Pace about Cutler. Even if it was just to sniff around and see what the cost maybe and hash something out from there. Apparently Gase really likes Cutler and who knows about Pace. He holds his cards really close so its been difficult to gauge what his opinions are.
  22. With so much stupid going around in the NFL with teams making decisions on QB's I thought there was a good chance Pace would find a sucker for Cutler. There is so much out of town stupid going around on other cast offs from last years team like Trestman and Marshall for one, why couldnt there be one team to be out of town stupid on Cutler? Oh well, I know its because of the money but time will tell how clever Pace can be in personnel moves.
  23. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) The odds of me clicking that link are on par with the odds of me watching the Oprah Network while eating a Papa John's pizza and drinking Budweiser. Sooooooo you are saying there is a chance...
  24. Kelly didnt have all this control until this year right? Yeah, he is going to run that team into the cellar. He is just making too many weird moves this off season for my taste. That usually doesnt end up well.
