  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) Best Coast's full-length can be pre-ordered starting today. Those guys are horrible. I'm sorry man...I'm just messing. I dont even know who or what that is.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) Naw, let those pansies know what the deal is Jeremy. Who is this Naw person?...and what deal are you speaking of my good friend?
  3. QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) indeed. I mentioned it because he was going to use this as a solution... "A this point I am thinking I am going to fix my car and have it appraised and then to sell it back them to upgrade to a newer car." He may not hear good news on this. or he may get great news, I'm not a car salesman. It was just a simple observation. I probably did pay a couple thousand too much but the car was in great physical condition and under the hood looked okay as far as what my dad could see. Carmax are the ones who are going to appraise it. So if they offer me some crazy ass low offer than what they sold it to me for I am going to snap up in this b****.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Who did you use to be? hogan743 or something like that
  5. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 08:43 PM) You bought a 2002 used car, got an extended warranty and want to blame the seller? How long did it run before you had your first problem? How long did it run between the first and second problem? What was exact problem? Personally, without more info I would say life sucks, but making a scene at their place is the wrong angle. The car is 8 years old! It sucks, but to blame them to me is ridiculous. I had it 4 months and the relay fan needed to be replaced so they say. Then a week later (yesterday) it over heated again with no indications that anything was wrong until it started smoking and then the thermostat went to hot right away. Now I dont know what they are going to say. I could see if I payed 5 grand for the car but I payed over 10 so I would expect to not have to tow it once a week after four motnhs of having it. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 08:58 PM) What, exactly, is causing it to overheat? When was the last time the coolant was checked or flushed? How many miles are on the car, and is it still the original water pump? Are the radiator fans working or not? Is the heat in the car working (no could indicate a stuck thermostat)? There is 79,000 miles on the car and when I first had the car to overheat along with some leakage of fluids my dad who used to be a mechanic for 25 years said he thought it was the water pump. I told them to please...please...please make sure its not the pump before they give me the car back. Sure enough the thing overheats again. A this point I am thinking I am going to fix my car and have it appraised and then to sell it back them to upgrade to a newer car. I just have no faith in owning this vehicle anymore for obvious reasons and I want to wash my hands clean of it. (yes that quickly). I really should have bought a brand new car as I always have done.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) So now we know who SHIPPS really is... If you are hinting that I am some kind of drug lord you would be way off. That is absurd...a drug lord? A guy who sells drugs?...crazy talk...drugs?....sell them with my pancho and fedora hat?... mean if I was a drug lord I wouldnt wear that silly pancho....I do need to buy me a hat like that though.
  7. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) well you are SOL on the lemon law side... http://www.ag.state.il.us/consumers/lemonlaw.html My suggestion, go into the store, when there are plenty of customers around and make a big (and loud) stink about how they sold you a bad car, etc. Push hard on the extended warranty front. Great, so I cant go the lemon route.....s***. Thanks for that info jas. Now I dont know if my best way is to go the nice guy route and see if I can get better help from them or really make a scene as you suggested. Hmmmmmmm.......this sucks nuts.

    QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) Get Him to the Greek was a decent film, but why did they have to cast such an ugly person as Jonah Hill's girlfriend? Seriously, she's "look away from the screen" ugly. I thought it was really really hysterical in some parts. The adrenaline parts in particular. And the girl was just the girl next door and really he would be lucky to get a girl that attractive. He is f***ing a guy that will be Norm from Cheers in a few years.
  10. I bought my sissy ass 02' Jeep Liberty from them last Febuary some of you might remember. This car in the last week has over heated and left me stuck twice. I feel like I have been sold a lemon. What are my options here? What are they going to do for me? I dont want them to fix it anymore because its a unreliable piece of s*** car. I want a new one. I bought an extended warranty but I just want another car. They arent yet to open so I dont know what to come at them with. I am just pissed off right now !
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) embarrassing abomination
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) This organization is an absolute s***show right now ? You havent been around for a while right? Or maybe its just been me.

  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) My ear was itching. WTF is going on in here? And oh yeah. Digging the new LCD Soundsystem. *exits stage left* I hate every molecule of your being.
  15. Alright then bmags, you think I have been "following you"?...great. Really full of your self then because that is not the case in least bit. Just random critical music talk on a message board. Dont worry I wont bother you with a music thought ever again.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) I don't really have time to get into it as I'm about to head to work. I'm not sour, I just don't care. You strike me as someone who probably just recently really got into how much music they could get on the internet and is discovering a whole bunch of s*** and wants to talk about it, and inevitably trying to organize, classify, and justify where this music fits and what makes what good and what bad, but at some point you'll move beyond that and give up because: "Most of it was just something a bunch of bands would have done in the late 80's. " isn't criticism. Bands in the eighties did use synths and bass. ANd in the eighties bands were playing songs with guitars and drums just like bands in the seventies. And shockingly bands in the seventies were playing blues riffs and singing a lot like bands in the 50s. Everything has an origin. Most bands are unabashedly embracing the sounds they grew up with and reconstructing in their new point of view. The shocking thing about Murphy's project and a lot of bands I like right now, is that in a time where everyone is competing for ears I'd imagine that music might go bigger, and be as cheesy as some early 80s pop bands. But the thing that makes Sound of Silver and This is Happening... and the s/t so good is how restrained it is. Each song has 3 memorable components, drums bass synth...they don't blend together, they sync up. that weird synth going on in "all i want" that slowly builds until the end where it's all you can think about and lust after is pretty much LCD's calling card - see the ridiculous piano in all my friends, which starts off annoying then gets beat into you until you love it. Add to that the honest, humorous, memorable lyrics and that's what people like about LCD soundsystem. Not that they are groundbreaking, but that they make really good pop songs. Except most of their singles. LOL. Now thats more like it! You strike me as someone who is like the guys (Jack Black and Todd Louiso) in the movie High Fidelity that worked in the record store.. In fact, exactly like them. Yeah you are right. I have just recently had the priveledge to notice that there is music I can find on the internet. It was a groundbreaking f***ing moment in my life. The truth of it all is that you obviously have a passion for music ( like myself, but you wouldnt believe that) and I think you are great at writing about it and expressing what you hear along with making yourself sound over educated and enlightened. Your musical arrogance makes me chuckle when I read it. My musical ignorance probably makes you chuckle if you even bother to read what I have to say about what I like. Not to sound like an asshole and I dont want to seem like I am attacking you but the stuff you and some others refer me too is pretty bad music. And I fall into the hype of it everytime .
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) shipps, i don't care. So sour for some reason. Have a nice day.

    QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) Yeah I need to start watching cinematic masterpieces such as Land of the Lost and The Spirit. Really though. Land of the Lost was a true story I believe.
  20. Done. Lesson learned to not be "slightly hammered" and post requests.
  21. bmags, I just guess music is ONLY a matter of taste and what hits each of our individual spirits. That LCD SS you were raving about was meh to me. I really really liked a couple songs on there but most of it I have been trying to figure out what would draw you to it so strongly. Most of it was just something a bunch of bands would have done in the late 80's. Critics are pointless in music more than any other thing.
  22. I didnt care that the Sox beat the Cubs, I was just happy we didnt lose to the Cubs. If that makes any sense.
  23. We should kill the swear filter!..........Except for steve...he still gets filtered.
