    QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Kudos to Pixar for this story...... HUNTINGTON BEACH – Colby Curtin, a 10-year-old with a rare form of cancer, was staying alive for one thing – a movie. From the minute Colby saw the previews to the Disney-Pixar movie Up, she was desperate to see it. Colby had been diagnosed with vascular cancer about three years ago, said her mother, Lisa Curtin, and at the beginning of this month it became apparent that she would die soon and was too ill to be moved to a theater to see the film. After a family friend made frantic calls to Pixar to help grant Colby her dying wish, Pixar came to the rescue. The company flew an employee with a DVD of Up, which is only in theaters, to the Curtins’ Huntington Beach home on June 10 for a private viewing of the movie. The animated movie begins with scenes showing the evolution of a relationship between a husband and wife. After losing his wife in old age, the now grumpy man deals with his loss by attaching thousands of balloons to his house, flying into the sky, and going on an adventure with a little boy. Colby died about seven hours after seeing the film. With her daughter’s vigil planned for Friday, Lisa Curtin reflected about how grateful she is that Pixar – and "Up" – were a part of her only child’s last day. “When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie,” said Curtin, 46. “I just know that word ‘Up’ and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven.” Pixar officials declined to comment on the story or name the employees involved. Full story This seriously almost made me cry at my computer.I dont cry ever but damn.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) I don't believe that's where you are supposed to store them. Jerk.
  9. No, I believe he is referring to the Goosebumps series of books.
  10. You know we really shouldnt give up on this season. Things are imploding in Detroit. I wouldnt be mad if the Sox won another division title even if we were knocked out first round.
  11. I am going to be the minority here... No Thanks.
  12. Any city that I have been to in California I have loved. I have been to all the major citys there (I think). So I would love to either live anywhere in SO Cal. or the San Fran area. I have thought about trying to get on the police force in San Diego.
  13. I have lived in Chicago all my life and never really traveled anywhere until I was about 23. I have fallen in love with California and I really feel like that is where I should be living. I havent had the balls to move forward with it but I really feel inside of my shipp that I will be happy living there more than Chicago. Do you guys think that maybe I am just seeing California to be a better place just because I have had good experiences when I go to visit? Maybe I am glorifying it in my head to be a place that is far better than it actually is. I dont know but I become obsessed with moving there sometimes.
  14. If Count dominates today you really have to start thinking about things. Thinking about alot of different "options" that you have.
  15. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) Certainly a lot of bum cracks showing on St. Paddy's w/k. Indeed there was Andrew....indeed there was...
  16. I must say Kap (and I know you will anyways) please keep in mind how much it sucks for me when Soxtalk is down. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) 1 basset hound who plays dumb, but is not, 1 Chocolate Lab with the meekest disposition in the world, but taller legs than the basset. Put them together and you have two dogs that figured out how to open the fridge, open baby-locked lower cabinets, set off any garbage booby-traps(mousetraps, shoes on the lid, weights on the lid), and now how to open the garage door to get into the garbage. LOL Those dogs are awesome. You cant even get mad at them when they do smart s*** like that.
  19. I think we brought Linebrink in just to make it close. Now all Cub fans at work will all of sudden reappear around me.

    I have never been a pet person. I bought my mom a miniature Dodson that is awesome though. I love playing with her when I go by my moms house. They are just too much to take care of for myself atleast.
  24. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 10:42 AM) It looks like we're not going to get this one in. I heard it was beautiful out there right now. How is the weather going to be at 700 which I am more interested in for my softball game?
