  1. I mowed our lawn for the first year that we lived in our house. I enjoyed doing it but the time that it took for me to do both front and back yards (about .25 acre) it just wasn't something I could do anymore. We have to much s*** to do on the weekends. We had to hire a lawn service which is about 100 bucks a month but its money well spent. I dont worry about my lawnmower giving me problems every other week and I dont have to factor in 3 hours of my time every weekend being wasted on cutting grass.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) http://www.sbnation.com/2016/6/28/12029662...16-kevin-durant Not missing much anyway, not when the top 20 expect max deals. Wouldn't mind if I heard we were kicking tires on crabbe. Yeah, bad list for the ones could even be possibilities. He doesnt do much for this team but I still like Deron Williams. I could see him going somewhere where thats the perfect fit for him and being a key piece but some have been saying that for years about him.
  3. KC Johnson on the Score this morning said that nothing he has heard or seen would indicate the Bulls are going to give any large contracts to anyone in FA. They are gearing up and clearing a ton of space for two years from now. Cant Jimmy opt out two years from now?
  4. The Bulls totally struck out in free agency even when they had a young promising nucleus and a dynamic uninjured Rose right? What stage of the franchise did they get Boozer? He was really just a "foul ball" in a free agency year that had what was considered a few home runs.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) I think it has much more to do with the fact, that we don't have the current roster Durant is looking at. If we had Rose in his prime (pre MVP form) plus Butler on his deal, Durant would be meeting with us. If Rose would have been the player that he was supposed to be in his prime the whole damn picture would be different right now. Hell, they may have won a championship in there somewhere.
  6. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) Not that i'm surprised, but Chicago is not on the list of teams scheduled to meet with Durant. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/16555870...s-heat-clippers The elite players wont even be the slightest bit attracted to the Bulls org until at the very least GarPax is gone. And even then Jerry still owns the team. The Bulls have a terrible rep around the league and it would take a whole lot to turn that around. Needless to say I am not surprised at all that Durant isnt bothering with the Bulls or vice versa.
  7. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) I disagree. Collins will move quickly. He's very likely the first bat to make the MLB from this class. Catcher or not. Really? Is it because he is with the Sox or you think he is THAT close?
  8. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) My daughter hasn't watched those shows yet, or at least, hasn't asked to watch them. However, Bubble Guppies is playing 95% of the time in our living room. Yeah Bubble Guppies is the show of choice right now in our household. Just had a bday party for my three year old this past weekend that was Bubble Guppie themed. I am pretty much seeing these things in my sleep at this point.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) Cubs are 4-6 their last 10 yet gained ground on STL and Pit. Yeah the Central doesnt pose a threat to the Cubs anymore. They got way too far out in front for that to happen, plus the talent just isnt there for those tow clubs anyway. The Cubs are going to have a rougher go of things once the playoffs start. They may ultimately still win it all but they better not think its going to be a cake walk in the post season likes its been in the regular season. The Giants and Nationals will be really tough to beat in a series.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 04:15 PM) No place! I tore my labrum during my senior year of HS (didn't know it then), went to a small academic focused college and pitched for a year before the labrum tear made me too useless to get by on cunning and guile anymore. Despite Anthony Romeo's best efforts, I wasn't quite right after surgery and the time off got me interested in other pursuits. It may be 5 years since I threw a baseball at this point. Wow, pitching with a torn labrum huh? Tell me, do you see any similarities to a young Jake and an old Shields?
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) What's funny is I know he and I saw some of the same pitching instructors in the Chicago area and sometimes they will have you throw some pitches from a similar stance for drillwork. As I had to do it, you'd position your left leg over your right just as you would if you were going to isolate the right leg to touch your toes and stretch that hamstring. That would be the set position out of the stretch. The idea was to give you more of that sensation of being closed and leading with the hip. I suspect Burdi may have done something just like it and felt like it made his mechanics better than what he could do from a conventional set position. Jake, where are you pitching now?
  12. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) ha, f*** you buddy: K.C. Johnson ‏@KCJHoop 26m26 minutes ago Rose said he may change his approach to free-agent recruiting. Was tepid participant in Bulls' pitch to Melo in 2014. Would have helped when, you know, the Bulls needed it. He isnt even capable. He has no charisma or social skills that would make him effective in recruiting anyone.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) Noahs knee just doesnt allow him to do what he did before. Not to mention he has chronic foot problems as well. Of course, most big men do but his slowed him down even more when he had knee issues. Maybe he has magically been healed and he is giving teams a good medical to look at but I am sure not buying it. And I love Jo.
  14. I think it was his third and fourth warm up pitches on that video that I am trying to figure out what pitch is was that dropped off the face of the earth right before it reached the plate? NASTY....LOL
  15. So Peppers, Clay Matthews and James Harrison are being interviewed in a PED probe. Interesting.
  16. There is no way in hell that rumor is true. They couldnt possibly be that dumb to give a guy with one knee that kind of money.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 12:18 PM) Also, while catching up on this thread, I found it interesting to see how little comments there were on the Bulls' actual draft pick. Did they pick someone last night?
  18. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) It's possible sure, but unlikely. The odds are heavily against it. Taj is an annual 6th man of the year player. He'd start for a lot of teams out there. I would bet the percent of guys picked in the 20's that ever play meaningful NBA minutes is less than 10-20%. I looked at the past 5 drafts and yeah you are right, other than Butler being picked at 30 there is some brutal talent coming through. I was hard pressed to find anyone of note in the 20-30. But hey, that is where GarPax have to pull another Butler out of their ass. And if Taj is that great of an asset you should have been able to get a better pick than 20-30 for him.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) Seemed like they are upset that the Bulls didnt trade him for similar value that Belinelli got. Taj is basically a role player himself, albeit a well paid one. Yes and like I said, they need to get younger. They need to gamble on some young guys that have potential to be better that the old that they currently have. I guarantee that there will be SOMEBODY that was picked in the 20-30 picks that turns out to be a better player than Taj one day.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) He will be a 32 year old free agent next summer and the Bulls aren't competing for anything this year. That is why you trade him if you get decent value. Yeah. If you could have traded Taj for a guy like Brice Johnson who went 26 I think, that would have been considered as a win in my book. Bulls need to get younger and bank on potential. Not hold onto older players that have shown what they already are..... and that being not good enough.
  21. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) Marco Bellinelli got a 22nd 1st round pick. Taj should have gotten at least that. This is what makes it even more frustrating knowing that the Bulls probably got offers to move a guy like Taj but, as they usually do, they fall in love with a guy and wont move him no matter what.
  22. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:49 AM) what is it with the sox and drafting pitchers with really odd mechanics. This guy starts with both feet on the rubber and his a$$ facing the hitter. Also another guy with no follow through and a low arm slot. Not a big fan of that. And he gradually gets to that point to LOL. So strange how he starts out pretty normal and then starts moving his left leg back further and further until his back is facing the hitter.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:06 AM) You know, if the Bulls could sign a guy like Mike Conley I could get behind watching this team for next year just to see Jimmy f*** skulls. Hmmmmm I am really torn right now. They are already a more likable team with Rose gone but at the end of the day they are nothing to the big boys of the league. Unless we have some crazy ass development from guys like Mirotic, McDermott and someone we didnt even consider as a big piece before, they will be average at best.
  24. George Offman says that the Bulls are in LOVE with Dunn and seems to think they will get something done for him. But this is just Offman though. TFWIW
