  1. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) Given the desperation of trading for an overpaid, over-the-hill James Shields and rushing Anderson to the majors, I think that Hahn is in danger of losing his job as well. I do not believe that is even the slightest bit possibe, no matter what happens. If they don't win another game this year I still don't see Hahn losing his job.
  2. Oh my god this is hilarious, I had no idea. The internet pokes fun at Steph Curry's underarmour shoes. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/nba-ball...-145549601.html
  3. Herb Lawrence thinks that McNeil will wind up back at the Score it seems. Terry Boers is retiring in January 2017 so there will be a spot open somehow. One of the afternoon or evening guys will probably move over with Bernstein and that will open up something. The Score is always trying to shake things up so who knows.
  4. QUOTE (gosoxtim8 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) are sox facing vnetura this series? Yes, unfortunately he is still the manager.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) Unfortunately left handed bat middle of the line up, gold glove SS with OBP of .450 aren't available at the present time.
  6. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Guess this is a move people like. If he struggles will people blame KW for bringing him up too soon as a typical KW move. LOL I will make sure to give Kenny his credit when Tim performs well.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) If Anderson isn't coming up to play almost every day, this move makes no sense. Robin probably requested he come up for bunting.
  8. This guys call up clock started ticking in the back of every Sox fans mind the minute we drafted him. LOL
  9. One of things that worries me is I really hope this isnt another move of urgency from the FO. Rushing a guy up who you arent totally sold into being ready just because you think he may bring some offense to the team is so dangerous. This kid cannot be thought to be the savior here. He might be wanting to be the savior knowing that the team is struggling which is overwhelming for a young kid....even for the best of the best prospects in the league.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) But they aren't showing confidence that they have patience for players learning in the MLB considering they've DFA'd like 14 players. Totally different scenarios though. Speaking of scenario where is that guy?
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) I think this is too soon for Anderson. I am not sure. I will hold my breathe when the ball is hit to him because I know even he knows he has to work on that area of his game but I think he may bring it offensively right from jump.
  12. So is Rollins still considered Tim's mentor?
  13. Tim posted to twitter "Lets go" yesterday and erased it right?
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:17 PM) This is exactly it. The bullpen is fried, and they want a guy who can give them 4 or 5 innings in a stretch to save the pen, if needed. Yes, they need a guy to come in and get hit around after Shields gives up 10 runs in the first two innings next game.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) If you just posted the Sox signed a guy who hit .310 .363 .458 last year instead of his name I bet the reactions would be different The Sox just signed 35 year old who hasnt played in a year which they kindly sent to the DL because he is still recovering from an injury he had from last year as well has a severe history of concussions?
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) At his stage the position is the key to what he has been aspiring to. You are the only one assuming other teams would pay him less to be a GM elsewhere. OMG only less because he would be less likely to get over a decade somewhere else as he is guaranteed here. We will have to agree to disagree ptatc. LOL
  17. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) No. Anyone with enough ambition to work his way up the ladder to be a GM is not going to take money for doing nothing. By all other account many other organizations were offering him opportunities to be a GM. Yeah because people dont make decisions based on money? Cmon. Sure they were offering him GM positions but thats not my point. I would rather stay with an org that I know is going to be loyal beyond fault.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) That's exactly it though. He has gotten praise at the time has made moves, but when they don't work out, people don't fault him for it. They instantly blame Kenny. If people gave full credit to Hahn without thinking that was done in part by KW as well then that's on them. Until KW is let go form this org I will always feel he has his hands in everything that is done with this team. I am not even saying that he shouldnt have a say, by his title he should. I just dont agree with him being a part of this organization any longer.
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) I would love to see evidence that says Hahn has fresh ideas that they don't follow through with. It's so funny to me how Kenny gets blamed for all the moves people don't like and Rick is the savior who makes all the moves people like. When things go bad, it's OBVIOUS that Kenny is still running the team. How about they're both working together and it's Jerry's win-now approach that causes this mess. I see Hahn get credit for some of the contracts he has gotten done with our young pitching but I dont see a lot people running around giving him credit for other stuff. There really havent been many successes to brag about for Hahn since he has been the GM.
  20. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) I think the evidence would be that do you truly believe that a person so coveted by so many organizations would turn down all of those other positions to take one where he has no say or power? If they answer is yes, I don't want him as GM. If it's no, then they work TOGETHER. The decisions are mutual and they rise or fall TOGETHEr. Could it be possible that Hahn likes the financial security that the Sox present him with that NO OTHER organization could give him? Why go somewhere that if you fail they will hold you accountable?
  21. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) I don't know....maybe they work together? People do that on occasion. I would love to see evidence that Hahn has fresh ideas that they follow through with.
  22. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) Man, this whole thing has me really doubting Hahn for the first time. Middle of the order bat? What? You're immediately claiming that he's going to be a middle of the order bat when he comes off the DL? That's your plan? Holy f***. And while $1 million is the right price, he isn't going to be ready until mid-late July? I was really hoping this team had much more urgency than that. That is super disappointing. I think the problem is that they have too much urgency. They are pretty delusional about the team and are grasping at straws right now.
