QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) They both have to face guys that will be on major league rosters, but thats easier said than done. I think they should both be in Charlotte, if either makes it to Chicago on April 2, its almost a lock they will be a Charlotte resident at some point in 2007. How so? Just because it would be their first full year in the majors doesn't mean automatic-faliure. What if Danks becomes the ROY? It is entirely possible. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see them both make it, Danks as the 5th starter and Floyd as a reliever.
-
Looks like John Danks has pushed was up to first place in the race. I'd like to see Danks start and go 5 innings, with Floyd getting a different start and going 5 innings. Looks like Danks also picked up the strikeout pace w/ 3 K's today.

Imagine if there was a platoon thing going on in CF w/ Erstad and Rowand. The grinder duo crap would never stop!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 10:41 PM) I'll say this..Day does make the top 25 and if you want to blame anyone for him being on there I'd be the one to blame. But from the people I've talked to and from what I've seen the org thinks pretty highly of Day (for a prospect thats 26, so I'm not saying he's a guaranteed star or even a guaranteed major leaguer) but you just can't teach the juice he's got on the heater and he's really made strides with his delivery and tempo as of late. Just call me Kobe for now on because I nailed that shot! I am sorry, that was horrible.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 09:53 PM) The only question I have is why Dewon Day is on that list? There's other guys who could have been in instead of him. I feel he is alittle too old to be considered a spect at 26 yrs. (going on 27 this year) The same could be said about Rogo even though I don't mind him being on though. Dewon Day seems to be a late bloomer and the org. is very high on him. Rogo has just been burried by the depth chart these past couple of years, can't fault him for that.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 08:31 PM) BTW, you got three guys the same as us. When will you be posting the list? I know, that was a horrible list by me... I kinda like my top 10 though. For the rest I kinda just threw names out there not putting much thought into it.

I submitted my entry to win 4 opening day tickets... hopefully had the mojo working for me that day.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) Probably worth noting...1 of those double plays was on a stupid/aggressive move by Mack where he tried to take 2 bases on a Sac Fly, expecting the throw to go home from the OF. You dissin' the Mack Attack?

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) Eye syphillis? shhhhhh...

I threw this together really quick, and I must admit, I am not happy with the overall outcome. 1. John Danks 2. Ryan Sweeney 3. Josh Fields 4. Giovany Gonzalez 5. Lance Broadway 6. Adam Russel 7. Kyle McCulloch 8. Aaron Cunningham 9. Chris Carter 10. Heath Phillips 11. Casey Rogowski 12. Robert Valido 13. Anderson Gomes 14. Oneli Perez 15. Sean Tracey 16. Jerry Owens 17. Dewon Day 18. John Shelby 19. Kanekoa Texeira 20. Paulo Orlando 21. Ray Liotta 22. Wesly Whisler 23. Matt Long 24. Pedro Lopez 25. John Lujan

thats the ball game. To be honest, so far this has been a piss-poor spring. If I was Ozzie I would freaking destroy everyone at camp. I would chew their ears out in the locker room, and for every error, strike out looking, and run given up I would have them do some sort of running drill. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 06:01 PM) All three of the guys you mentioned shouldn't be near the 25-man. Terrero is close, but he should be no more than a backup. Perez still needs another two years in the minors. Aardsma is still intriguing because he has had past success in the bigs. Terrero might make it as a backup, IMO.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) s***. Terrero just hit a blast. Was that you and me talking about Terrero yesterday? I just got home. Looks like Aardsma got rocked. He is no longer a lock for me anymore. Oneli Perez has been very disappointing this spring as well.
-
Terrero hits a bomb, from what it sounds like.
-
Lieber woud produce no more then John Danks or Gavin Floyd would.

DJ actually sounded smart for once!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) I'm not sure, cause I remember Whis going ahead of Liotta and just checked BA and they had Whisler ahead of Liotta and I know Whisler got a larger signing bonus which would indicate the same. I think the Sox site is wrong. Yeah, I thought it went Gio; Lumsden; Whisler; Liotta as well. But then again, it isn't that big of a difference. Can we get a Paulie chant going? Paulie!
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) Whisler was taken 3rd, behind Gio and Lumsden and than Liotta went after. That was actually a pretty damn good draft by the Sox, considering we also took Russell, Harrell, & Egbert in that draft and Fields is actually looking like a first rounder that might produce. Just looked it up. It went Fields, Gio, Lumsden, Liotta, Whisler. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/team/draft...cws&year=04 That was a damn good draft. It was also in 04 that we claimed Bobby Jenks off of waivers.

WOOT! QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) I am thrilled we have Macdougal right now. I like MacDougal, a lot, but I wish there was some way we coulda kept Lumsden. Dewon Day warming up. I really would like to see him pitch, I have heard good things.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) Wes looked good when I saw him last spring, interested to see how he does now. He was a terrible pick when we got him (given when we took him, way too early) but he has a bevy of pitches and what was considered a projectable arm for a college kid (was a two way player in college...who for most of his career was considered a better hitter than pitcher). He was the 4th of the lefties taken early in 04, right? I still wish we could have kept Lumsden. Wesley just let them back in it. Maybe he should convert to offense...

Wesley Whisler in!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) IIRC, Gomes was given the equivalent of 2nd to 3rd round money to play with the Sox. The guy is a serious talent, but after a couple years you have to get production and he's yet to do it. He's still plenty young though and considering he was originally a pitcher there is reason to give him extra time. The other Brazillian comes through. Orlando is supposed to be very fast. On a sidenote, has that asian picther the Sox signed this off-season (Li or something) pitched at all in spring? I don't think so. I am interested about him though. Could become a real steal. Will start the year off at A and hopefully work his way up.
-
Fields almost beat that out... guy should just stepped on second.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Watching the Mariners I'm starting to remember how bad this organization has been over the recent few years when it comes to developing its young players. They have had a good number of talented youngsters that have failed to really develop into the type of players they thought they could be. I'd like to get one of their young catchers sent over here...
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) The Brazillian walks. No I'm sarcastically referring to some hype BA gave Gomes. That said Gomes is pretty darn talented. But there are a lot of those type of guys and it turns out that just dont' have the fundementals to succeed. Anderson Gomes Best thing I've seen all season....Razor Shines hold Paulie at 3rd. With Cora he'd have been running and the inning would be over. This is what BA wrote:

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) The next Soriano at the plate. This pitcher is over-throwing and can't find the zone. He looks awful. And now he's not even finishing his pitches. God, I hope so.
