  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 09:28 AM) Yeah, yeah, Iran, Iraq.... I'm an American, its all the same to me notice how they all look the same, with those round faces and silly smiles.
  2. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Makes sense to me.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 07:26 AM) Server god? More like our b****! Shhhh, most of his pay is in b.s.
  4. Happy Birthday Mr. Soon to be a MBA. In case everyone doesn't know, Kap is the server god around here. We run on his server, he does the behind the scenes stuff when Jas f***s things up. He's a great guy to have a beer with, but like most guys here, his wife is infinitely more interesting and better looking and his daughter has a better grasp of politics. And he shares a birthday with my daughter who is celebrating her Sweet 16 today.

I wish I had thought of this. http://www.cereality.com/main.php OK, I smell Kramer in this. The wacky, off beat Kramer, not the racist spewing Kramer. I fell asleep at 7:00 pm from pure exhaustion and woke up at 10:00 pm and can not fall back asleep. This wine is very wonderful. I was tasting the "oak nuances" about an hour ago, now I'm just tasting the "I love you man" of the alcohol content. But seriously, a f***ing cereal bar in the morning, isn't that the coolest? The pretentious "cerealologist" crap can go, but it beats the breakfast taco I currently grab.
  6. QUOTE(BurlyMan56 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) i got the tmobile dash and i have a nice lil scratch in the middle. didnt even know they had these They seem to help the minor scratches more than the major. I use one on my Palm Pilot and it especially helps in the input areas.
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) I know... what a big ass she has too... At least we can see under that arch thingy in misery . . .
  8. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) [/runs to Urban Dictionary to confirm that's what he thinks it is, confirms, giggles to self.]
  9. On the football field
  10. There is waaaaay more interesting stuff in that article than just taking away the Legos. That was about .1% of the article. Seeing how kids this age acquired, wielded, tried to share, make rules, etc. was the real importance there. NSS, don't stop at the fourth graph. And if you actually read to the end, they did not ban legos. That's misleading.
  11. http://cgi.ebay.com/BlackJack-Samsung-i607...8QQcmdZViewItem or http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-h...process=default look for lcd protectors, or screen protectors. If you google scvreensavers you'll be there forever.
  12. QUOTE(Soxy @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) Great read! Cognitive Psychology at its finest. It was very interesting. I saw some parallels with my kids.
  13. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) I did it for one year as well. The people asking for double paper in plastic were the worst. Talk about a pain in the ass. Not as much as pushing carts thru the snow, but it still sucked. Speaking of pushing carts, I saw some automated s*** at Target last week. The kid just hooked the carts together and drove them in. What's up with that?? Every big box down here has them. Pushing carts in 104 degree temps is not healthy.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) I'm finding it interesting how similar I find the arguments of the Loose Change guys to the arguments of the anti-evolution or anti-global warming folks. It's always the argument from Ignorance. There's no footage of this. There's no footage of that. There's no good images of this. Why can't we see the footage of this. That's a double edged sword. Science tells us if it can't be proven empirically, it isn't valid, no? So on one hand we have scientists telling us something must be replicable before we can trust it as true. So if there is a lack of objective evidence, we should consider it a theory until it can be proven or disproved. And then other the other hand, in evolution's case, we must accept it without firm evidence, And there is a leap of faith in evolution, or any theory of man's beginning, from nothing, comes something, close to approximating human.
  15. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) I worked as a bagger for 3 years in high school at dominick's. We sure wasted alot of plastic bags. But paper bags are a b****. That's the other bad thing about plastic, I noticed my local Walmart seems to put every item in plastic bag. I'll come home and have nine or ten, when three or four would have worked.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) The last 10 seconds or so of that... The whole thing. The money was priceless.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 12:22 PM) I can see the firefighters on the roof from my office in the MERC office towers. I can't see a damn thing from over here. Frickin' Arkansas is in the way I hope everyone is safe.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 11:43 AM) Interesting note...a large majority of the wood pulp used in making most paper products in this country does not come from trees any more. Most of the paper goods you buy are made of some combination of recycled paper and scrap from cutting wood to make products out of lumber (furniture, homes, etc.). My point being, and please correct me if I am wrong, the total energy to make a paper bag is smaller than producing a plastic bag. It isn't a 100% gain of those oil resources.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) Iran has aired footage of the prisoners on TV, which as I understand it is a violation of the Geneva Conventions. Seriously, is the Geneva Convention relevent today? I think it's time for a new set of rules.

  21. I was thinking it was more a reference to our "small ball" and our propensity to get a lot out of one hit. But if the comment was Detroit might not be so high ebcause they might not even make the playoffs this year, I agree. I don't think they will make the playoffs, and if that happens they will be exactly like us.
  22. It isn't a total gain, petroleum in used in the cutting down of trees and processing them into paper bags. I try and use reusable bags whenever possible, but some stores make it so damn impossible to bring your own bags in.
  23. The difference between 9 and 19 is razor thin. It's an inexact guess. If it was easy to predict, we wouldn't play the games. I would have had them slightly higher, the Rangers much higher. But I know those teams better. Of course maybe they read the threads here and it soured them so much on this team that it influenced them to placing us that low.
  24. Anyone care to remember the USS Pueblo and their capture by the Koreans in 1968? Separate comment, not linked to above. When these things happen, it always seems that one country is trying to provoke or expand the "line in the sand". If we go here and they didn't attack, tomorrow we will go here, and then here, and here. Many boundaries are established like that. I'm guessing there is some blame to go all the way around.
