  1. I doubted, I was wrong. He cowboy'd up and kicked ass. Un f***ing believable. This may be the best Sox game in my memory.
  2. I am trying to remember a better Sox game in my life and can't. This was awesome. Garland was incredible. I kept buying drinks from the bar and by the 4th inning everyone was pulling for the White Sox. The canned music was shut down and the cheering took over.
  3. I had the entire bar rooting for the White Sox. Unbelievable. What a party. Brooks is going to get part of my bar bill. I made several new Sox fans tonight. And dashed home before the shots took effect What a game. Cy Garland
  4. I had the whole f***ing bar rooting for the Sox. I just paid a big bar bill but it was worth it. I made my own Chicago party
  5. I was the stupid idiot who voted Judy Garland. I will gladly eat crow. What a focking stud performance!!
  6. Hell, I'm hungry and don't like anything in the house. It's either s***ty pizza time or Logans for a steak and watch the start of the game. I'm soooo nervous.
  7. I was about to run out the door, but thought s***, I can't read the game thread and the chance of finding a true Sox fan will be slim to none.
  8. Awesome, that would be a great poster.
  9. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) I got it from...gulp...whitesoxinteractive...but I don't post there. Go for it. It's like playing Russian Roulette in Deer Hunter. Eventually you'll be banned.
  10. dammit, I am so f***ing homesick right now.
  11. QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Texsox: You can't back out of the DEAL! By the way, I saw you wrote Ravenswood Hospital under your Avatar. Were you borned there? I worked at Ravenswood Hospital few years ago until it was sold out. If you were, what a wonderful small world! Yes I was. We lived on Maplewood Avenue, near Irving Park Rd. circa 1961-1965 before moving to the suburbs.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) It's hard to get next to nothing, isn't it? Wow, this thread has turned another bizarre turn. I really hate it when the hooker is always talking and s***, asking me the same question over and over again. Is it in? Is it in? Damn woman, I'm tryin' to concentrate
  13. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Anyone able to scan this? I'd love to see what this refers to (as would other out-of-towners I'm sure). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Same here.
  14. Actually when I list all the really great athletes that have graced Chicago sports and how most of them have been 1st class individuals, I always mention Sandburg, along with Payton, Magnuson, Makita, Jordan, Fisk, Banks, etc. No TO, Moss, Irvin, Williams in that group.
  15. QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) But Texsox, in 1960 Sandberg was not even 1 year old yet! He was borned on September 18, 1959. Can we open our precious welcome door a little bit to sneek Ryno in? And remember, he joined Yahoo as a columnist very recently. Here's my plan I will accept this former Cub as genuine, if another former Cub organization player, Mr. Jon Garland, gets a quality start tonight.
  16. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) I suppose this is true but I haven't been burned as of yet -- knock on wood. How effective do you find the ratings? The rating are easily manipulated. The usual scam is to sell a bunch of cheap stuff to friends, then scam on expensive stuff. I have over 200 transactions both as a buyer and seller on ebay, have never lost a dime. Had two deals that didn't go smooth. One resulted in mutual negative feedback given. I wish I had the opportunity to take it back. In fairness, many of those have been Boy Scout memorabilia, and presumably I am dealing with fellow Scouters who presumably would be honest.
  17. Whose version are they playing? For some reason I doubt Bonnie Tyler . . .
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) I honestly dont want to read another article about the call ever again. I want to read the "Angels Denied World Series Trip With Game 2 Call" article.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) I am looking really hard at local politics. Basically if I can find some kind of a support base, I am running for school board. We'll see if it goes anywhere. Send me a bumper sticker, I'm here for you . . .
  20. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) Well, considering I have The Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Benny Goodman, The Boswell Sisters, and Glenn Miller for my listening pleasure as I type this, I guess it makes sense to me why the song doesn't bother me.
  21. With all do respect to Go Go White Sox, nothing compares to Steam's Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye. I have so many great memories of the late 70s and singing with Nancy. Didn't even mind occassionaly spilling a beer (never my own) while screaming the lyrics.
  22. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Oh, look at the King Of Padding talking!!! What he puts into his manziere is his business. alt punch line What he puts into his bro is his business.
  23. I'm with Critic, the song sucks so bad I can only listen to it 10-12 times a day. Na Na Na Na, Hey, Hey, Hey I can listen to that all the time. Someone at a local radio station must be a Sox fan or at least from CHicago, he mentioned playing it for all the Sox fans wishing they were at Sox Park.
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Ah yes, Texsox the media relations specialist. So when is Hug a Columnist Day? We only hug those columnists that pick the Sox every year since 1960. All the others are either bandwagon jumpers for finally picking us, or idiots for picking anyone else.
