    QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) Oh, that's okay. LOL. I couldn't really look at the cat. Too freaky.
  2. I've rotated just to get a different feel sometimes. Avatars on the right is always jarring. I also go 50 posts per page, and leave avatars and sigs on.
  3. What bothers me is this stuff is over shadowing what has been an incredible pitching performance and defensive performance for the Sox. We're not going to get the respect the team deserves.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 07:30 AM) As it was pointed out once by Buck and the crew, yes, we've gotten a few breaks. However, the umpires weren't the ones to throw the 0-2 pitch to Joe Crede Wednesday. The umpires weren't the ones that rolled the solid double play. The umpires weren't the ones that got Pods around to score last night. The Sox are doing it. Absolutely we have done an amazing job of jumping on these chances. Still, if the shoe was on the other foot, do you really think we would have threads stating, well Jenks should have made a better pitch? We'd be as livid as Angel fans, maybe more.
  5. I'll bet he wishes he signed Kong.
  6. How about Church bells ringing instead?

    awesome
  8. AND he signed an extension. Nothing like cheering someone who is signed for a couple more seasons.
  9. Nice observation. Hi8is nice sig. That is so cool.
  10. I decided to wait for the really cool t-shirt. I figured winning the Central wasn't enough.
  11. Nothing like a little momentum.

QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) From Pods : ``I don't think I have the words to describe what that city is going to be like if we're able to pull that off,'' White Sox leadoff man Scott Podsednik said. When this thing is clinched, you guys in Illinois/Chicago area scream and holler a little for me, will ya? I'll be screaming and hollering here in Utah but if anything it will just cause some concern for neighbors who for sure will be wondering what the heck is going on at my house. They may call the cops. My neighbors will know why My Scout Troop has been kidding me all year. I have one die hard Yankee fan and a die hard Red Sox fan amongst my youth members. I was shocked when the Red Sox fan wore his Red Sox cap to Scouts last week. I was conducting a training session for Scout leaders a couple weekends ago and using Powerpoint. When I was closing up I accidentaly switched to my desktop and everyone started laughing. I had one of the White Sox wallpapers up. They knew I was nuts, now they know how much.
  13. When it is one call, it goes away quickly. I cannot remember a series where the umpiring has been such a factor and all one sided. If this was happening against the Sox, instead of for the Sox, we would be enraged they aren't showing it enough. I don't think any team has a fan base with more of a chip on our shoulders than the White Sox. We should be the first group to understand the coverage and the Angel fan's angst. We have benefited from calls, it doesn't seem to be even. We have also created our own "luck" and made these chances pay off. That is the mark of a championship team.
  14. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) If you take a drink after every time Fox shows a replay of ANY call they think went against the Angels, you would be dead by the third inning. Unfortunately the calls against the Angels are starting to fill a highlight reel. BTW, other drink while you watch games Hey Bob! during the Bob Newhart Show The "Shrug" during Dragnet. Not a drinking game, but fun at the old ballpark, is mound ball. Everyone kicks in a five to the first player. If between innings the ball stays on the pitcher's mound you win the money. If not, you add a five and hand it to the next person. It is so funny to watch as the ball is tossed, rolled, or dropped near the mound. One time we had most of our section in different games as the rules spread around the seats.
  15. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 06:09 AM) It’s pretty cool that Marcia and Ken Powers just became the first to complete the 4900-mile transcontinental American Discovery Trail in one continuous hike. But what really impressed me is that he’s 60 and she’s in her 50’s. http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=83655 http://www.suntimes.com/output/outdoors/cst-nws-hike16.html Not all that surprising. If you look at some of the stats on our nation's long trails, Continental Divide, Pacific Coast, Appalachian, etc. many older people complete the trip. They are typically the ones with the time and money to give themselves the best chance for success. I've backpacked with many people, and of all my hiking partners, if I was to tackle a long trail, it would be a female friend of mine that I think would be the best partner for the trek.

It does show that KW and OZ managed to follow their plan to reinvent the team around pitching and defense.
  17. I even saw a couple Sox caps at the mall here. A zillion Astros caps, but a couple Sox caps peaking out.
  18. Everyone that is use to Hawk must be going nuts listening to a neutral announcer. I often have to listen to away announcers, so these guys don't seem that bad.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) They will. When we cross that "5 outs away" voodoo theshold it will be more than the average Cub fan can take. 'We got closer than you" is the only argument they had lefy going for them. That said, yeah, win the focking thing tomorrow and fly home heroes! I'll bet Oz & Co are reminding the players they haven't won the series yet.
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) I've worn a different Sox cap each game. The game we dropped I was wearing a cap signed by Josh Paul. :banghead Big problem now, though. After tonight I'M OUT OF CAPS!! I switched to my 1919 road gray and envoked the spirit of Shoeless Joe. I wasn't concerned about the newness branding me as a bandwagon jumper.
  21. Garcia pitched really well tonight. The atmosphere amongst the starters must be incredible. The great Braves staffs had stretched like this in the regular season, to be pitching this well in the post season is just amazing. And it isn't the Angels hitters suck.
  22. Texsox replied to Reddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gotta play em one inning at time. The Angels are not going to give up easily, the calls may not continue, like in match play golf, always assume the opponent will make the perfect play.
  23. Texsox replied to Reddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I accepted that as a Sox fan, I might never see my team in a World Series. Just amazing. I never lost faith in this team making the playoffs, but never expected a sweep and now this
  24. This is easily the most dominate pitching performance in a championship series I have ever seen. Amazing.
