  1. I think part of the issue is the changing views of society. First off two totally wasted people leave a bar. Both are way over the legal limit. They have drunken sex in a car in the parking lot. The male could be charged with rape since the woman was drunk and not able to consent. Is there an inequality there? I'd like to hear what the ladies say. Not to defend Kobe but how many groupies have come on to him the same way, that he had sex with? This was not a big city groupie who knew the ropes so to speak. Maybe she thought it was going to be straight up love making and when she realized she was just going to be just another bang on the road, tried to stop it. Kobe allowed himself into a bad situation. The girl allowed herself into a worse situation. I do not believe she knew what she was getting into. She may have thought she could play kissy face, brag to her friends, and go home without sex. And she should have been able to.
  2. So easy to use, no wonder it's #1 I've had an AOL when they had less than 500,000 subscribers. Then left. When I was working for one company and needed access throughout the US, I tried them again. For local dial up anywhere in the US, they were impossible to beat. I could fly into the smallest airport, drive to the smallest town, fire up the laptop, and AOL would have a local POP in a town of 2,000 people. Amazing.
  3. Be part of the solution. Offer to aim it for him This is a place of business? It would be OK at home
  4. Oh, I thought you were trying to enlighten us If this is how you react to people you do not I wonder how you treat people you really care about. I too would like to see Israel live in peace. I just also wish the same for Palestinians, and Iraqis, and everyone else effected by war. But that's just me, I'm a bleeding heart liberal. I value all lives the same. I do not assign a lesser value on someones life because a car with a criminal should happen to stop in front of their home. I do not value someone's life less because they happen to be on a bus and some homicidal idiot decides that blowing up innocent people will somehow get them what they want. But here is a rats ass for you because I care. And I am serious, you really do need to visit Israel and talk wth everyday people instead of getting all your information from web sites. Walk the streets, sit and have coffee. I know you will come away with better information on what the average person thinks. From talking with a friend whose daughter is there, many Israelis are unhappy with the assassination. Just like the US, there is dissent among Israeli citizens. Hard for you to believe, I'm certain. I guess when it's your ass being retaliated against, it isn't as easy to be a war lord.
  5. Once again are the Palestinians the moral standard you are judging Israel by? Then yes, Israel is doing a very nice job. I cannot accept terrorists as a moral authority or standard. I do not believe it is civil unrest, anymore than I believe Viet Nam was a police action. It is war and believe it or not, war has rules. Break the rules, and people will criticize. If you believe Israel should be treated like anyone else, then Israel is rightfully being condemned for an assassination. If you believe that Israel is above or below International Law, then please do not cpmplain that they are treated different. Yes, I see the difference. It is ok for Israel to kill civilians. It is not ok for Palestinians. If an Israeli civilian dies you will say they are targeted, when Palestinians die because a Hamas leader drives by them on the street, it is somehow the kid on the streets fault. If there is the possibility for innocent civilians to be killed, the action must not be taken. If it is taken then those civilian's blood is on the aggressors hands, regardless who they are. You seem to believe if a Palestinian target is close by, anyone in the area may be killed. If an Israeli soldier is close by, and since I have not been back to Israel in two years I do not know if they are still everywhere, it is not ok to kill the Israeli soldier because innocents may be killed. Who then would be hiding around civilians? If it would be wrong for a Palestinian to kill innocents while taking out an Israeli solder, but it would be OK for an Israeli to take out civilians if a Palestinian target is close, doesn't that mean Palestinians cannot hide behind human shields but Israelis can? Or is the Israeli army out in the open now and not on almost every street corner next to civilians? You really need to visit Israel. I cannot believe a true freedom fighter like yourself hasn't coughed up the time and cash and went. I can offer you some excellent hotel choices and if they are still operating some great restaurants. Man, I've had some great meals there, and cheap. I've only been a couple times and each time I came away with a sense of wonder and awe for the rich religious history, regardless of your faith or lack there of. I am a bleeding heart. I believe the bloodshed will continue until no one is left, if wise men of restraint do not act soon. You want to spill blood. You are a war Hawk, hell bent on defending any destruction to Palestinians. Do you enjoy sounding like a blood thirsty hoodlum, intent on the destruction of an entire race? You complain that Israel is being treated different, yet claim Israel is somehow entitled to defy International Law because they've been wronged. Man that self righteous anger must keep you going. I still think if you spent less time trying to atone for not going to Temple by going to Temple, you will feel better. You will get rid of that guilt and all will be right with the world. Will you be bringing up your child in the faith and taking him/her (sorry I do not like refering to children as its) to Temple?
  6. We are the United * States * of America. In principle we are a group of individual states united into one country. The group of states gets together and elects a president.
  7. I have to believe, by this weekend, JayMo will be falling over himself with praise for Frank and echoing Ozzies, please do not do this and them pout.
  8. Then is it justified if one Israeli soldier is standing at a bus stop and only a couple civilians get killed? Or is it only ok for Israel to kill civilians? I cannot believe killing civilians is ever justified, but hey that's just me and International Law.
  9. Would you kill Israeli innocents if it meant taking out a Hamas leader or is it just ok to kill Palestinian innocents?
  10. the elephant walk is an after game tradition (in some teams) that involves mass quantities of beer, then forming a line where each guy grabs the trunk of the fellow in front of him. They then march around the bar. Shocking everyone in site. It is considered rude to swing the trunk of the fellow in front of you too much, or it may appear gay. ChiSoxy would not be able to play
  11. Of course if I4E didn't agree with it, he would offer it as proof that the world is anti-semite
  12. Holy crap. Thomas is sounding like and elder statesman and team leader If Frank keeps this up for the rest of his career, PR wise, I will revise my prediction on when he gets elected to the HOF to second ballot, make a WS apearance and he's an outside chance at 1st. I would love to read was corg is saying about this. He advocated Frank just shut up and never talk to the media.
  13. Let me be frank, No you got to be frank last night . . .
  14. Answer the f***ing question. Is it ok to kill innocent people if it means taking out a terrorist?
  15. And you will only believe things that have Israel as perfect. Anything that would criticize Israel is racist and wrong.
  16. Does that mean you can take out innocent people as well?
  17. Does France have a National Guard? Maybe Bush could get credit for theirs also? Let me see if I get this straight: Bush has been after Bin Laden since 9/11 He and his regime has not found Binny so far Bin Laden would be dancing if Bush stopped looking and Kerry started?! Is "W" the only one looking? Do we rehire every intelligence agent after an election? Nice election year rhetoric but in the end it is meaningless. US Policy towards catching Bin Laden is not going to change under Kerry. Does anyone think that Kerry wouldn't love to catch Bin Laden and show the world how great the democratic party is? Boy catching Bin Laden when Bush failed would be terrible for mid term elections and Kerry's popularity.
  18. Thank you Steff. In summary, I think the Israelis and Palestinians have been dealt a very unfair hand to play. Both sides have been wronged by the other. Violence does not stop violence Humans are basically capable of great good and great evil, sometimes at the same time. Some people are too dug in to compromise, and they are the negotiators. There are people involved on both sides that want the killing to continue if it means they may get 100% of whatever they are after Sending bombs and missles into neighborhoods is wrong. Killing anybody is wrong, in war, killing the enemy is justified, killing civilians is never justified Assassinations are wrong, especially if you have to kill others at the same time. You cannot sink the to the other side's depth of depravity and remain pure You cannot use one act of violence as justification for another and not be an aggressor at least once Sometimes killing someone just maks you feel better Sometimes watching your enemies mourn the loss of their people makes you feel better Some people are blindly loyal You can't wake someone who is pretending to be asleep What goes around comes around, be prepared The average Israeli and the average Palestinan have no control over this Terrorists do not follow orders or have honor, they are criminals. They do not have any code of ethics Soldiers have codes of ethics and honor. If the soldiers stoop to terrorist ethics and methods, they become terrorists. A uniform doesn't make the difference, behavior does.
  19. Is Israel trying to be the moral equivements of the Palestinians? Is that how they judge their behavior, by those of the Palestinians? Doesn't that make them no better than the Palestinians? Is it intentional if you send a missle that is accurate to within 50 yards, into a neighborhood and it hits an innocents home instead of the person targeted? Is it intentional if you assassinate an innocent because he looked like a guilty person, or are these mistakes that Israel is allowed to make and still remain perfect? If a Hamas leader is sitting in a car with an unidentified person, is it ok to kill them both? I'm not saying these things have happened, just wondering how you define intentional? As I recall the US military speaks of unavoided damage, that not all weapons are perfect.
