  3. Can you hear me that when it rains and shines, It’s just a state of mind, Can you hear me, can you hear me?
  4. Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, And I say it’s all right. For tomorrow may rain so I’ll follow the sun.

then the drunk says, "I don't know but the one in the middle sure looks like Willie Nelson"
  6. This year!
  7. I don't believe there is one. Just which shade of bad you want to go on. And money doesn't just buy you political spoils It also buys you justice in America
  8. I know what you mean because nobody wants to know him, They can see he’s just a fool
  9. But if the Palestinians who want peace, join with the Israeli's who want peace and neutralize those who do not want peace, we may have a solution. Imagine that. You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
  10. did you say it's your birthday?
  11. Not whose the best team. Who added the most and the right guys.
  12. Amazing person. In any conflict. Until both sides love peace more than they love war, it will continue. I've read inteligent scholars who come to the conclusion that there will never be a negotiated peace. Only until one side has oceans of blood on their hands will it end. It's a sad comment on the human spirit.
  13. But both sides think they are retaliating for the other guy's acts.
  14. Realize you need all the world on your side. Follow International Law. Do not stoop to your enemies tactics. Be vigilent, very vigilent. Try not to paint all people with the same brush. Actions speak louder than words. Don't over or under estimate what someone can do. Remember there are criminals in every society. Just because Lee Boyd Malvo is from Jaimaca and killed Americans, that doesn't mean Jaimaca is attacking us. Do not start lobbing missles at Jaimaca or claiming their President should have controlled him. There are groups on both sides that are willing to take matters into their own hands and they cannot be controlled by their governments. I was lucky on my last trip. I was part of a Church group. I was able to see the country from the perspective of my relgious roots. I also broke away from the group for a day to visit a friend's daughter. I experienced a small part from the perspective of a citizen. We teach kids here to have a family plan in case of fire or hurricane. It's a half ass serious attempt by most families. There, it's serious business. She and her husband have multiple locations to meet up, and they both keep the list with them. Item 25 or so is his parents house in New York. Sobering thought what the world would be like if they ever got to that position. You may also come away, at least many of us did, at how small and vulnerable Israel is. With their military success stories, they seemed bigger and stronger until being there. It's not a big country and after eliminating areas that probably cannot ever be settled and historical sites, it gets even smaller.
  15. Favorite corporal punishment story. My old principal like to spank with his belt. One morning I guess I was a bit disruptive and he took me into the boys restrom for a spanking. It was the grab your ankles and a couple wacks across the ass. After he hit me the frst time I yelled ouch, pretended to fall forward hitting my head, and passing out. He shakes me and tries to get me to come to. Of course I am playing possum. He freaks and runs out of the room to find the nurse, half yelling as he went. As soon as he left, I was out the door and on my way to the lake to go swimming. Man did I catch hell from the police when I finally showed up at home. They saw through my "I was so scared he was going to kill me defense" 3 months later, when he was presenting me with the highest grade point average award, he wasn't smiling
  16. Worse when they dismiss your thoughts because you are part of a Special Interest Group. Man that is the cornerstone of democracy. Everyone who voted for Bush was part of a special interest group. A textbook example of how the minority can win over the majority If your views are so far out there you are alone, worry then. If others are also thinking the same way, be happy. That's a SIG. But when only wealthy politicians can win, all we will have are wealthy politicians.
  17. At the same time, if anyone lays a hand on my kids, I will be pissed. If there is a problem you call me and I will take care of it. I don't want some teacher or librarian laying a finger on my kids.

Oh s***, if you look in the White House windows, I think you can see Jane Fonda and President Elect Kerry making out.
  19. But TV makes or breaks big campaigns. I hadn't really thought about 2k4's point. It is interesting. I think this is an area that the founding fathers would not have anticipated. When the constitution was written, all campaigning would be primarily face to face or, at worse, very regional. Now a thousand volunteers cannot reach as many voters as one TV spot. Another interesting factor I had never considered before seeing it on West Wing goes something like this. I admire the way I4E runs his corporation. We share similar values and ideas, believe in the same causes. He decides to donate to my campaign. His company runs into trouble from whatever and it is within my control as a Congressman, President, whatever to help him out. If I make a decision that helps him, is it automatically because he donated money, or is it because we share a common set of values and of course I would agree with him? I had always sided on the idea they are greedy bastard corrupt politicians, now I am not so certain. Everything a President does effects someone or else some else would be making the decision. If his actions didn;t help those whose values are similar, something wouldn't be right.
  20. The issue that I cannot resolve is this; *if* I had southsider2k4's money and wanted to spend $100,000 telling you why I think George W is the perfect man for our time, shouldn't I be allowed to do that? If I decided that the environment was a huge issue, and had the money to spend, shouldn't I be allowed to take out commercials and educate y'all? That sounds ok to most people. But when you see the ads and they are obviously partisan, because so many issues are partisan 1/2 the population cries "no fair"!
  21. Or the GOP will promise more programs -- and -- give us all big tax breaks Honesty is such a lonely word Everyone is so untrue, Honesty is hardly ever heard Dems = Tax and Spend Gop = Spend and Borrow
  22. Actually I think ARod is the better athlete. But could he beat our Crede?
  23. By voting Dem

Sorry, I'm not a smart man. Momma told me this board is like a box of chocolates, sometimes you bite in and get cream all over your face. Or something like that. Favorite line But Lt. Dan, you aint got no legs
  25. The problem is there isn't a solution that is perfect. Public money only cuts of yours and mine free speech and raises taxes Private money leads to groveling by our Presidents and conflicts of interest and all that. Any combination brings in the worst of both. At least in Presidential races, I would like to see single 6 year terms. As it is now the President is either too new, worries about mid term elections and what his actions will do to his party, or running for re-election.
